Chapter 11: Chapter 11 - From Passive to Proactive
Wendy ushered Michael Eisner, the Disney mogul, into the villa's pool party. While Milo was content to enjoy the festivities, Wendy had a more strategic role.
"Good evening, Mr. Eisner. Would you like a drink?" Wendy asked.
Eisner, dressed in a sharp suit, smiled. He had seen Milo's photo and met him briefly at a previous event. Spotting the young man surrounded by women in the pool, he nodded. "Good evening, Mr. Blackburn." He accepted a glass of champagne from a passing waitress and gestured towards Milo.
Milo, who had been juggling multiple women, reluctantly agreed to a private conversation. He signaled for the women to give him some space.
"Can we talk in private, Mr. Blackburn?" Eisner asked.
"No need for that," Milo replied, gesturing towards the poolside lounge chairs. "I don't want to be too far from the fun."
Eisner exchanged a glance with Wendy, who shrugged and nodded. They settled into the chairs, and Milo explained that his father admired Walt and Roy Disney and believed in the power of their creations.
Eisner was pleased. This was a meeting of minds, a mutually beneficial arrangement. With a few more pleasantries exchanged, Eisner excused himself, saying he had to catch a flight to New York.
As soon as Eisner left, the women surrounding Milo became more aggressive. They had witnessed the meeting and were eager to capitalize on the connection.
Milo turned to Wendy. "You've done well," he said. "You always know what I need."
Wendy grinned. "Six years in LA, and you're finally getting serious."
Milo chuckled. "I've always been serious. It's just that now, I'm a bit more...selective."
His eyes drifted towards Zeta-Jones, who was standing with two other women. They had been watching the exchange between Milo and Eisner with interest.
Zeta was stunning, her figure perfectly proportioned and her beauty both exotic and classic. She had been in the industry for a few years and had a reputation for being both talented and ambitious.
As Milo approached her, the other women seemed to step aside, creating a space for them. There was an instant connection, and soon they were deep in conversation.
