RWBY: Oscar the gamer

Chapter 27: Not A Normal Dungeon part 2

Oscar looked around, as he sighed. "Feels like I am in a horro move, I better not be exploring all of this twisted version of Vale, will at least I am level 26 now".

He started to walk, as he did he stopped he looked into the water he jumped away as he saw creator it looked kinda females, it's body dripped with water and blood, it had bones and was crawling, it's eyes looked at Oscar as he felt the word's again

"Human you are ntk welcome here"

Oscar looking at the creator, he thought of one thing to see the new ice spell he has, it was only leven one but he had no lighting spell.

Oscar moved his hand as he called. "Take this [Freez Dry]".

The icy magic surged from Oscar's outstretched hand, forming a frosty wave that engulfed the creature. The chilling mist swirled around it, frost forming on its skeletal frame and dripping tendrils. The creature let out a guttural screech, its movements slowing as the ice took hold.

Ding!

[Skill Activated: Freeze Dry - Level 1

Effect: Deals ice damage and slows the target by 30%. Effective against water-based enemies]

Oscar smirked as the creature writhed in place, trying to break free from the encasing frost. "Looks like you're not too fond of the cold, huh?"

The creature snapped its jaws at him, but its movements were sluggish. Oscar didn't waste any time, switching to Crimson Trigger. He aimed carefully and fired a concentrated shot straight at the creature's head. The impact sent shards of frozen flesh flying, and the creature screeched again, its body collapsing onto the wet ground.

Ding!

[Enemy Defeated: Drowned Wraith

EXP Gained: 120

Bonus EXP for Elemental Weakness: +30]

Oscar sighed in relief, lowering his weapon. "Okay, note to self: ice works on water-based horrors. Good thing I tried that out."

He glanced at the water again, wary of any other lurking threats. The distorted reflection of the foggy streets rippled ominously, but nothing else emerged for now.

"I need to get out of this place," he muttered, stepping away from the water.

As he continued down the empty streets, he kept a close eye on his surroundings. The oppressive fog made it hard to see more than a few feet ahead, and the eerie silence only added to the tension.

Ding!

[New Quest: Survive the Cursed Vale

Objective: Reach the Dungeon's Core and escape.

Rewards: 500 EXP, Rare Item, Skill Upgrade]

Oscar groaned. "Survive? Why does the system always make it sound like I'm about to die?"

Despite his complaints, he pressed on. The streets seemed to stretch endlessly, every turn leading to more of the same desolate, fog-covered landscape. He noticed more of the strange symbols etched into walls and streetlights, their faint red glow casting an unsettling light.

Suddenly, a new notification appeared.

Ding!

[Bloodlust Detected: Multiple Targets Approaching]

Oscar stopped in his tracks, Midnight Fang at the ready. From the fog, several figures emerged—twisted humanoid creatures, their bodies contorted and covered in patches of rotting flesh. Their glowing red eyes locked onto him, and they began to hiss and snarl.

"Great," Oscar muttered, gripping his weapons tightly. "More company."

The creatures charged at him, their movements erratic but fast. Oscar activated [Agility Skill], dodging the first swipe as one lunged at him. He countered with a quick slash of Midnight Fang, cutting through its torso.

He spun around, firing a shot from Crimson Trigger at another creature, the blast sending it sprawling. Despite the hits, more kept coming, their numbers seemingly endless.

"Time to clear the crowd," he said, summoning a [Fire Ball]. The blazing orb lit up the foggy street as he hurled it at the oncoming group. The explosion engulfed several of them, their screeches echoing in the empty streets.

Ding!

[Skill Level Up: Fire Ball - Level 8]

Oscar didn't let up, using [Freeze Dry] on the remaining creatures. The icy blast slowed them down, making it easier for him to pick them off one by one. After what felt like an eternity, the last creature fell, dissolving into black mist.

Ding!

[Enemies Defeated: 7

Total EXP Gained: 840]

Oscar panted, wiping sweat from his brow. "This place is a nightmare."

He looked down at the ground where the creatures had fallen. Among the black mist, something shimmered. He crouched down to pick it up, revealing a small, glowing orb.

Ding!

[Item Acquired: Shard of the Abyss

Description: A fragment of dark energy. Can be used to enhance skills or forge powerful items]

Oscar pocketed the shard, his mind racing with possibilities. "At least something good came out of this mess."

He stood up, glancing around warily. The fog seemed to grow thicker, and the oppressive atmosphere pressed down on him even more.

"This is just the beginning, isn't it?" he muttered, steeling himself as he continued deeper into the cursed streets of Vale.

As Oscar ventured further into the fog-shrouded streets, the oppressive silence was broken only by the sound of his own footsteps echoing eerily. The air felt heavy, and an unnatural chill crept up his spine. Every shadow seemed alive, every flicker of movement just at the edge of his vision made his grip on Midnight Fang tighten.

The buildings around him seemed to lean inward, their cracked windows like hollow eyes watching his every move. Rusted streetlamps flickered sporadically, casting jagged shadows that danced across the cobblestone streets. The entire place felt... wrong, like a twisted memory of Vale corrupted by some unseen force.

Ding!

[Warning: Fear Aura Detected

Effect: Host's stamina regeneration reduced by 20%. Enemy strength increased by 15%]

Oscar groaned. "Oh, great. A debuff. Just what I needed."

Suddenly, the faint sound of a music box began to play. Its haunting melody echoed through the fog, distant at first but growing louder with every step. It was a mournful tune, its notes filled with sorrow and dread. Oscar's instincts screamed at him to turn back, but the dungeon's pull was relentless, urging him forward.

He rounded a corner and froze.

There, in the middle of the street, stood a figure cloaked in shadow. It was hunched over, its back unnaturally arched, and its long, claw-like fingers gripped the handle of a small, spinning music box. The melody stopped abruptly as the figure's head snapped up to look at him. Its face was a horrifying blend of human and beast, with hollow black eyes that seemed to bore into his soul.

Ding!

[New Enemy Identified: Marionette Keeper

Description: A puppetmaster of despair. Controls lesser minions and uses sound-based attacks to disorient its prey.

Danger Level: A+]

Before Oscar could react, the Marionette Keeper let out a guttural laugh, its twisted body convulsing as it reached into the shadows. From the darkness, strings of red energy shot out, attaching themselves to nearby lampposts and rubble. The objects began to twitch and rise, taking on monstrous forms.

"Living puppets. Of course," Oscar muttered, backing away as the makeshift creatures lunged at him.

He raised Crimson Trigger, firing at the first puppet. The shot blew apart its torso, but the strings reattached, pulling the pieces back together. "That's not fair!" he shouted, dodging another attack.

The Marionette Keeper cackled, its clawed hand twisting the music box. The melody resumed, and Oscar felt a wave of dizziness wash over him. His vision blurred, and the ground beneath him seemed to tilt.

Ding!

[Status Effect: Disorientation

Effect: Accuracy reduced by 50%. Reaction time slowed]

Oscar clenched his teeth, activating [Agility Skill] to keep moving. "Focus, Oscar. Don't let it get to you."

He switched to [Fire Ball], launching a burst of flames at the advancing puppets. The fire consumed the strings, causing the creatures to collapse into piles of ash. "Fire works. Good to know."

But the Marionette Keeper wasn't done. It let out a piercing scream, the sound vibrating through the air and making Oscar's ears ring. He stumbled, clutching his head as the Keeper closed the distance, its claws glinting in the dim light.

"Not today," Oscar growled, activating [Freeze Dry]. The icy spell shot out, freezing the Keeper mid-lunge. He followed up with a slash from Midnight Fang, shattering the frozen monster into shards.

Ding!

[Enemy Defeated: Marionette Keeper

EXP Gained: 500

Bonus EXP for Status Recovery: +100]

The eerie silence returned, but Oscar knew better than to relax. He scanned his surroundings, the fog seeming thicker than ever.

"This place is alive," he muttered. "It's watching me."

Ding!

[New Quest Update: Survive the Cursed Vale

Objective: Find the source of the Marionette Keeper's power]

Oscar sighed, gripping his weapons tightly. The streets ahead seemed to stretch endlessly, each corner hiding who-knows-what horrors. The fog swirled around him like a living entity, whispering faint words he couldn't understand.

As he walked, the sound of faint footsteps echoed behind him. He stopped, turning quickly, but there was nothing there. The shadows seemed to shift, and the air grew colder.

A low, guttural growl came from the darkness.

Oscar narrowed his eyes, his heart pounding. "Whatever you are, you better hope you're not flammable."

The growl turned into a roar as another twisted creature emerged from the fog, its grotesque form towering over him. Oscar readied himself, the faint glow of his fireball lighting up the darkness.

"Round two," he muttered, stepping forward.

The creature looked like a Spider kinda, it was heard to tell, Oscar stepped back in the fog, as he actived his [Stealth Skill] he then activated his [Detected skill], the spider looked around but then it was hit and send flying by a blast, Oscar then opened his inventory as he pulled out a dust box, he coved pulled gravity dust and then put in Crimson Trigger he then pulled out a thunder dust and it in Mind night fang as the sword glows yellow he then ran and hits the grown with the gun as he goes flying as then he striked the spider with his sword as Lighting hit spider monster as it hit the ground, as then Oscar uses [Earth Spikes] spikes came from the ground as it went through the body of the creature, Oscar then used [Earth Pull] a the creator got slammed into the spikes even more as it screamed, Oscar then used [Water Blast] as Blast of water hit the monster as it went and hit the wall, as then Oscar uses [Freez Dry] as an ice blast it the spider, as then Oscar used [Wind Slice] as it cut the spider into many pieces.

[Skill levels up

Water Blast - Level 6

Freez Dry - Level - 2]

Oscar stood amidst the shattered remnants of the spider-like creature, watching as the pieces of its body were scattered across the fog-covered ground. His breath was steady, but his pulse raced. The battle had been intense, each of his abilities working in perfect synergy to take down the grotesque monster. The combination of elemental dust and his own skills had overwhelmed the creature, leaving nothing but a mangled mess in the street.

Ding!

[Mission Update: You have successfully eliminated a major threat in the dungeon. Proceed to investigate further.]

Oscar wiped the sweat from his brow, feeling the rush of the battle fade into a grim calm. "One more down," he muttered. But something still gnawed at him. The feeling of being watched hadn't subsided. If anything, it had only intensified.

He turned and looked down the foggy street, his hand gripping Midnight Fang as he cautiously stepped forward. The oppressive silence returned, but it felt like a ticking clock, each second heavier than the last.

Ding!

[Warning: Host is being tracked by an unknown entity. Prepare for imminent danger.]

Oscar's instincts flared, and he quickly activated his [Stealth Skill], disappearing into the shadows. The street around him fell eerily silent, and for a moment, he thought the system had made a mistake. But then, he heard it—a faint, scratching noise, like claws scraping against stone.

He crouched low, listening intently, and then saw a pair of glowing eyes pierce through the fog. Another creature, far larger than the last, skittered into view. Its massive body was segmented like that of a giant spider, but its movements were smoother, more calculated. The creature had long, wiry legs that scraped against the cobblestones, its head tilting as if sensing him.

Oscar's breath caught. This wasn't just a monster. This was something different. A predator. And it was too close.

Ding!

[Detected: Alpha Creature - Danger Level: A++]

Oscar gritted his teeth. He had no choice now. This wasn't just about survival. This was a test of his abilities and his will to keep going.

"Time to show you what I've got," Oscar whispered to himself.

He focused and pulled out a new piece of dust an explosive one. Fire Dust. With a quick flick of his wrist, he loaded it into Crimson Trigger, the gun's barrel glowing with fiery anticipation.

The Alpha Creater moved closer, its jaws snapping open, revealing rows of jagged teeth. But just as it was about to lunge, Oscar stepped forward, unleashing a blast of fire directly at its face. The explosion shook the air, and the creature screeched in pain.

But the Alpha Creator wasn't fazed. It was relentless, moving faster than Oscar anticipated, charging at him with terrifying speed.

"Not today," Oscar muttered, flipping out of the way as the creature's claws scraped the ground where he had just been. He launched himself backward, landing in a roll, and immediately pulled out another dust Thunder Dust.

He thrust Midnight Fang forward, and the sword crackled with electric energy. The Alpha Creature hissed, its many eyes flashing as it tried to react. But Oscar was already on the offensive. With a lightning-fast strike, he slashed at the creature, sending a surge of electricity through its body. It convulsed violently, jerking back from the impact.

But it wasn't over. The creature's skin hardened like armor, and it snarled, preparing to strike again.

Oscar wasn't about to give it the chance. He focused, his mind working in overdrive, and summoned a new spell [Wind Slice]. With a sharp motion of his hand, a blade of air sliced through the fog, cutting through the Alpha Creature defenses. The creature shrieked, its armored body cracking under the pressure.

It staggered, stunned from the attack. Oscar wasted no time. He activated [Earth Spikes] once more, summoning a barrage of sharp rock formations to pierce the creature's body. The Alpha Creature shrieked, its body twitching as it struggled to escape the impalement.

Oscar didn't let up. He followed up with [Earth Pull], slamming the creature further onto the spikes, causing it to thrash helplessly.

With the creature on its knees, Oscar aimed his Crimson Trigger and fired. The shot hit true, knocking the creature back.

And just to be sure, Oscar unleashed [Freeze Dry], a wave of ice shooting from his hand to encase the creature in a thick, frozen prison.

[Alpha Creature Defeated

Exp Gained: 1,000

Bonus EXP for First Defeat: +200]

[New Quest Objective: Continue the investigation of the dungeon's depths.]

Oscar took a deep breath, surveying the fallen creature. His body was exhausted, but the thrill of victory kept him going. He had just taken down an A++ rank threat. But even now, something told him this dungeon was far from over.

He glanced around warily, still feeling the oppressive weight of the fog pressing in on him. "This place isn't normal. There's something more here, something… watching."

With a determined sigh, Oscar tightened his grip on Midnight Fang and Crimson Trigger, preparing for whatever else this twisted dungeon had in store.
