SSS Ranked Summoning: I have the Strongest System

Chapter 4: 04. Drax (2)

The long, thick curtains of Freya's chamber roughly slid apart, allowing the first warm rays of sunlight to enter the room and also brightening up the chamber.

The sun rays brought a soothing warmth and illumination to the room, not too harsh and also not too dim that the effect was masked.

…Just appropriate.

Feeling both the warmth and light from the sun, Queen Freya immediately covered her eyes with her arm as she squinted, trying to make sense of what was going on.

Although she had slept well enough through the night to recover her strength and stamina, she still looked quite exhausted and cranky because she had to rise early again.

This was all thanks to her spirit companion who had entered the room and spread her curtains wide apart, making sure that she definitely woke up.

A few seconds passed, and she realised it was morning already.

Immediately, her eyes widened, and she turned to the other side of her bed, looking for her new baby.

Seeing that baby Drax was still sleeping comfortably without a care about the world around him, Queen Freya relaxed a little bit, breathing better as she placed her hand on her chest.

"Get up, Freya," Alucard said as she continued to pull the curtains apart, allowing the room to be maximally illuminated.

After confirming that Drax had really come into her life and that she was not dreaming, Queen Freya was now more comfortable about discussing other things.

She turned to Alucard who was moving around the room while yawning.

"Come on! Isn't it still too early?" she complained, changing positions several times on her bed as she behaved like a whining child.

Alucard stopped what she was doing and shot her a glare.

The dragon queen said no words to the elf queen but her stern green eyes said more words than she could have spoken with her mouth.

Alucard's shoulders slumped, and she shook her head, evidently tired of Freya's childish behaviour, but there was nothing she could do about it.

She was stuck with the elf queen and vice versa.

"You can't spend the whole day in bed, Freya!" Alucard scolded. "You are a queen and you have a kingdom to rule."

"Like you aren't one yourself," Freya grumbled as she sat up, resting her bosomy chest on a pillow that sat well on her thighs.

Alucard gave her a sharp stare once more causing Freya to look away for a second.

The dragon queen sighed. "It doesn't work the same way for dragons as it does for you elves. Moreover, a monarch is overseeing the affairs of dragons over there. Can't say the same for the elves if you decide to spend your whole day here."

"But I deserve just one day of rest, don't I?" Freya then inched closer to Drax's crib, pulling it towards her. "So I can spend more time with my baby boy."

"No buts, Freya!"

Freya scoffed and rolled her eyes at her Spirit Companion. "Such a killjoy. Loosen up sometimes, Alucard."

Drax's legs reflexively kicked the air, drawing the attention of the two females.

It was as if he was disturbed by the chat going on between his two mothers and was reacting to it on instinct.

Freya put her finger on her lips, hushing the dragon spirit but it was too late.

Baby Drax was already awake and his eyes gaped at the ceiling as he tried to figure out what was going on.

"Did I die again?" Drax wondered, trying to figure out where exactly he was.

It was as though he had been unconscious for a long time, despite only having slept from the evening of the previous day to this morning.

This was, however, due to the summoning spell and its effects.

Freya and Alucard, being masters of mana manipulation themselves, succeeded in tweaking the magic circle in a way that whoever was summoned into it would experience a self-healing process just in case there were damages to their body or spirit by any means.

Drax being a baby, couldn't endure through the process and so his body gave up and slept off, allowing the healing to naturally occur unperturbed.

As Drax looked at the finely decorated ceiling of the elf queen's chamber, his tender, little eyes fluttered several times in a second.

He tried to recall himself, and the last thing he remembered, only able to remember that the student known as 'The Witch' in his high school back on Earth had accidentally struck him to death with a metal pole.

Then, as he strained his brain further, he recalled hearing feminine voices and strange floating screens that made him realise that he was reincarnated.

Drax smiled but that smile soon vanished as he thought of a way to confirm that he had truly been reincarnated and none of the things he was experiencing at the moment was a dream.

Drax tried to speak and only a baby's incomprehensible sounds filled the room.

He could also hear it and it happened only when he tried to speak.

'Tch! So I'm inside a baby's body,' he thought with disappointment. 'It's going to be a long ride then.'

Drax had assessed his situation and finally arrived at such a conclusion because of how much isekai literature he had consumed and also because it was the most logical thing.

Drax was no fool and didn't need to have an extremely high IQ to realise that if he was reborn as a baby, his growth in this world would take some time and would also require that he be patient with himself and the process.

"Ooohhh… my baby," the elf queen said as soon as she noticed that Drax had woken up.

She sat well at the edge of her bed and moved her arms to take Drax out of the cradle and into her closure as she began to rock him and make baby sounds.

"Did Mama wake you from your sweet sleep? I'm so sorry, darling."

Drax's eyes fluttered again as she saw the woman who carried, able to look past the large, soft masses that stood firm before his eyes.

'Beautiful. Long pointy ears,' he thought as he stared at Freya intently. 'Hmm. I'm an elf?'

He couldn't see himself to know how he looked exactly nor could he understand what Freya was saying to him.

However, hearing 'Mama' from her mouth and seeing how she looked made him put two and two together.

He was able to guess that she was his mother, and the chances of him being an elf if this person was his mother were high, so he went along with that deduction.

Freya was indeed a beautiful elf, with her long white hair and charming golden eyes accentuating how she looked.

The elf queen was immersed at the moment with her baby as she lovingly swayed him left and right while giggling to make Drax smile when Alucard's figure approached the two closely, casting a mild shadow.

"How about you let me appraise the child?" the dragon queen suggested, her eyes fixed on the newborn baby.
