SSS Ranked Summoning: I have the Strongest System

Chapter 5: 05. Drax (3)

< Ding! >

< Requirement has been met >

< You have acquired the skill [Universal Tongue] >

[ Universal Tongue — A passive skill which allows you to fully understand and speak the language of the world of Nethria at zero cost ]

[ However, your access to the skill is only partial as you can only understand the language of the world of Nethria but cannot yet speak ]

Drax's eyes fluttered as the notifications popped in.

'Universal tongue…?'

This was the second encounter he was having with his system even though the first was cut short by his sleep.

He couldn't help but smile as he saw the message, happy that he had gotten something so important for a newborn baby in a strange world.

'Nethria…' he repeated in his head as he read the name of the world in which he had been reincarnated.

The skill [Universal Tongue] sounded like what would be very useful from what he read and he was elated to see what more was in store for him in Nethria.

The dragon queen had asked for the elf queen to be the mother to the baby whom they had summoned into their world, despite her blood also being a major constituent in the ritual.

This was simply because Alucard was not cut out for such a thing and was unsure how to go about it.

Alucard was a dragon.

A beast with zero conversancy on how to be as motherly as Freya used to do it.

The whole mother role came very easily to the elf queen who had always wished to be a mother.

While Freya was being all lovey-dovey and kissy-kissy with baby Drax, the dragon queen cut to the chase and approached her mistress.

Alucard wanted to handle the important things that mattered and not fawn helplessly over a baby like Freya did.

Certainly, from time to time, Drax's cuteness got to her but it did not deter her from thinking about what was best for them.

"Let me assess the child, Freya," Alucard asked as she stood and watched the elf queen cuddling Drax in her arms.

As soon as he heard a second voice speak, Drax immediately turned to the direction of the dragon queen.

He was surprised since he imagined that it was just him and Freya in the room.

Long, curly red hair that would easily pass for a mane.

A pair of daring and resolute green eyes.

A tall and a tad muscular physique which gave Drax the vibes that Alucard might be a warrior or something of sorts.

Although she looked a bit butch, Alucard was also a pretty woman.

Not as beautiful as Freya from what Drax was seeing, but she was still pretty.

'She wants to assess me? What does that even mean?' Drax internally questioned as he put up a meaningless guard like it was going to stop anything.

He realised a second later that his defence was futile, and eventually gave up.

It was not like he could do anything if this red-haired woman wanted to yank him off and fling him out of the room.

He was also surprised for a moment at how instantaneous his skill [Universal Tongue] worked.

It was one thing to read about these sorts of things and another to experience them firsthand.

'Is she going to check me for magic or something? Sweet!'

Drax was excited to see what his potential in this world was.

His mind fired at an immense rate, recalling everything that had happened so far since he arrived.

He even remembered seeing something that made mention of a certain 'Strongest System' but he had no time to think over that yet.

He would certainly have the liberty of checking out the system later.

He was focused on the matter at hand — his appraisal by the dragon queen.

Drax, from his experience, knew that this stage was usually an important one for isekai characters that had been reincarnated.

It marked the start of their journey and somehow played a major role in how they are perceived, with the weak ones suffering through a hellish fate and the strong gaining respect and making a name for themselves somewhere along the line.

As he still excitedly thought over the vast possibilities that he could have at the grasp of his palm, Freya's voice shook him back to the present.

"Why?!" the elf queen protested as she moved Drax's body away from the reach of the dragon queen, reluctant to hand him over.

Alucard sighed and massaged the bridge of her nose. Freya was about to be silly and she knew it.

It was as if she expected such a reaction from the elf queen but the dragon queen understood what she wanted to do from a point of necessity.

"...He's not even a year old yet," Freya added, solidifying her point against Alucard's intended action.

While the two went back and forth, Drax could only stare at them, moving his eyes between the two beautiful mothers of his.

There was nothing he could do as his fate was currently not in his hands.

He continued to cluelessly look at the two adults while hoping that they could just reach an agreement and do the appraisal.

The way he saw it, it was always better for a character to know how much potential he possessed at the start in case he was weak than finding out later that he was weak.

"I know that he is not a year old yet, Freya but try to understand," Alucard said, trying to make the elf queen see reasons with her.

"This baby is—"

"Our baby, Alucard. Our… baby," Freya cut her short to emphasize these words.

Drax's eyes fluttered like wings again.

As they talked about it, Drax's mind contemplated something else.

The way things progressed at this moment did not allow him to probably follow their conversation.

The fact that Freya had mentioned 'our baby' when she was speaking to the dragon queen.

Taking a few seconds to put two and two together, Drax could only come to a singular conclusion.

'I-I have two mums?!' he shockingly deduced.

The adults could not read the baby's mind to understand how astounded he was nor could they tell by his expression alone, which mostly came off as cute a giggle, a smile or a cry.

"...Our baby," Alucard corrected herself. "You know he is not like other children. He was not exactly born naturally but a product of magic. We cannot wait until a year to appraise him."

Alucard paused and looked at the baby who was giggling at her as she smiled back at Drax.

"It is important that we find out now. What happens if those guys come in six months before we can even estimate what he is capable of?"

Alucard proceeded to sit down beside the elf queen and stroke her hair while trying to convince her to see why it was important.

"You said you want to protect him, right?" she asked Freya.

Freya looked at her and nodded.

"...And so do I. But we need to know how strong the boy is. Even you know that this is important," Alucard emphasized as she softly and playfully pinched Drax's cheeks causing him to giggle.

Freya's expression went a tad dim with worry etched on her beautiful face. "But it is a painful process, Alucard."

"Huh? What?!" Drax exclaimed but his fears had come out as incomprehensible baby sounds.
