Starsea Fleet: Age of the Lord

Chapter 194: Chapter 194: Devouring Snow Eagle

"As Xiao Meng and I were university classmates, I'll call you Uncle Yue," Feng Mo began. "The Storm Fleet can spare the Frostmark Fleet, but I have a few conditions for the Tianqi Yue Clan. Would you agree to hear them?"

Yue Mu furrowed his brow slightly, then replied, "I cannot make all decisions for the Yue Clan, but I can guarantee that the Yue Clan will order the Frostmark Empire to relinquish all territories of the Snow Eagle Empire. Furthermore, they will not invade the Storm Empire's domain for the next decade."

Feng Mo nodded in agreement at the promise. These were the terms he was about to propose himself. Since Yue Mu had already committed to them, sparing the Frostmark Fleet was feasible.

In truth, Feng Mo had a strategy in mind. Allowing the Frostmark Fleet to retreat was intended to have them return to the Frostmark Empire and continue to engage in a standoff with the Federal Fleet. Ideally, they would wear each other down, or at the very least, drain the Federal Fleet's strength.

The longer the standoff between the Federation and the Frostmark Human Alliance, the greater the benefit to the Storm Empire. If it even led to the eventual disintegration of the entire Starsea Human Federation, it would be most advantageous for the Storm Empire.

One should not judge Feng Mo's ambitions. Now that he was the lord of his domain, his goal was to continuously strengthen his empire. This was an endless pursuit, and he would always choose what was most beneficial for himself.

Hearing Feng Mo's consent, a faint smile appeared on Yue Mu's normally stern face as he said, "Thank you, Lord of the Storm. I will lead the Frostmark Fleet out of the Snow Eagle System immediately and ensure that we will not cross into Storm Empire's territory again."

Feng Mo nodded with a smile, then ended the call. He turned to Han Peipei and said, "Allow the Frostmark Fleet to retrieve survivors from the destroyed ships, but they may not take any vessels. These are our spoils of war. Also, inform Kailan to send out a message of surrender terms and dispatch the Paladin with two Pegasus-class ships to the Windmill System."

"Yes, Lord!"

After issuing his orders, Feng Mo uploaded a video of the battle to the StarNet. It was his intention to upload every battle he commanded to the StarNet, with the purpose of cultivating his reputation as a figure of worship. The Federation's citizens needed something to believe in, and it was better for them to idolize him, Feng Mo, than the Federation itself.

In the Windmill System, upon learning that the Frostmark Fleet had retreated, the Minister of War for Snow Eagle fell into a deep despair. He could already foresee the empire's downfall. This once-proud War Minister suddenly seemed to age by centuries, his posture no longer as straight. Yet, his voice remained as firm as ever.

The warship he was aboard was a quasi-T5-class interstellar battleship, serving as the flagship of all military fleets. Following the Frostmark Fleet's defeat, the conflict with the Storm Empire fleets had come to a halt as Kailan's forces repeatedly broadcast messages of surrender.

Many fleets had already yielded, leaving only a few hardliners resisting. But surrounded by the might of the Storm Empire, how much longer could they hold out? The War Minister understood well—the Snow Eagle Empire had fallen.

Yet, even as his empire perished, he would stand alongside it. With a heavy heart, he issued his final command:

"Snow Eagle's military fleets, cease resistance. We have been defeated. Surrender."

With these words, he turned to his loyal lieutenant of many years, issuing his last directive, sending the flagship on a final charge toward the Storm Empire's fleet.

Of course, he understood well what his fate would be, but he chose to act nonetheless. Unlike the nobles and families who had fled to the Frostmark and Cloud Dream Empires, this Minister would join his empire in its ultimate sacrifice.

His end would surely come by the blast of the Paladin's annihilation cannon, leaving not a trace behind. In his own way, he too protected his empire till the very end.

Feng Mo was now strolling through the battered Snow Eagle Starport. Along the way, he could see mechs putting out fires and squads of soldiers patrolling in starcraft to hunt down remaining enemies.

Since the Snow Eagle Empire's flagship fleet had been destroyed by Feng Mo, countless nobles and families had already fled. Those who remained were either civilians, mercenaries, or genuine patriots who had stayed to defend their homeland.

However, Feng Mo was only interested in keeping the civilians; he intended to root out the rest. He continued his stroll around the starport, preparing to take a starcraft tour around Snow Eagle's capital star.

If anyone loyal to Snow Eagle wished to assassinate him, this was their only chance. Feng Mo's aim was to lure out such individuals. The entire planet was under the watchful surveillance of the Orca's drones—any movement against him would be met with immediate death.

As Feng Mo toured Snow Eagle's capital in his starcraft, hidden snipers and soldiers took aim from various concealed locations in the buildings around. But before they could fire, the drones circling above unleashed deadly bursts, reducing them to fragments.

This tactic was a form of "baiting," and Feng Mo was well-practiced at it. It allowed him to swiftly eliminate potential threats, leaving the remaining ones to be methodically purged by the military. Feng Mo personally would not waste time on such trivialities, as these tasks were handed over to the military.

The Storm Empire had its intelligence agency, simply called the Intelligence Division, but it was relatively young and undeveloped compared to the spy networks of more established empires. The Snow Eagle System, with all its would-be assassins and rebels, was an ideal testing ground for the fledgling agency.

"Ai Er," Feng Mo commanded, "send the bodies of the fallen from this battle to the Beast Roar System. There are two ancestors there that still need feeding."

With no large-scale battles in recent years, Feng Mo had struggled to keep those two ancient beings satisfied. This time, however, was different, with direct and indirect casualties expected to number in the millions—more than enough to keep the ancestors sated.

Among those aiming to assassinate Feng Mo were elite soldiers, most of whom were third-level gene warriors, with even a few at level four. These individuals were agile enough to avoid cannon fire for a short time, but once marked by the drones, escape was impossible.

Even a fourth-level gene warrior could only withstand two direct hits from the drones' cannons before being obliterated.

Feng Mo and Ai Er returned to the shattered starport, disembarking from their starcraft. On the ground, rows upon rows of people knelt, stretching far into the distance, beyond what the eye could see. Just then, Commander Feng Xian approached, reporting to Feng Mo.
