Thanks to the personal recommendation of the Third Hokage, Xu Fan's registration process was made much easier.

"Now, I just need to go to the Ninja Academy, look for Iruka-sensei, and finalize the registration. On the way, I can get this sign-in thing done too."

After five years of staying in Konoha, Xu Fan was already quite well-versed in the layout of the village.

From his house, he would take around half an hour to walk to the Ninja Academy.

The Third Hokage had already ordered the Academy teachers to treat Xu Fan very well.

"You must be Senju Xu."

The moment Xu Fan entered the Academy, a Chunin teacher called out his name.

Xu Fan's eyes revealed a flash of surprise; after all, the person greeting him wasn't anyone ordinary in the Naruto universe.

Mizuki-sensei.

"Yes." Xu Fan nodded. Yes, although despicable, sly, and greedy for envy, the character, however, had absolutely nothing to do with Xu Fan.

If really, Mizuki had actually contemplated deceiving him to steal the Scroll of Seals, that won't be all bad.

Xu Fan could learn the forbidden techniques on the scroll, then shirk the blame afterward.

Wouldn't that be perfect?

"Senju-kun?" Mizuki noticed Xu Fan's mind seemed to wander and had to raise his voice, repeatedly calling his name.

"Ah, it's nothing." Xu Fan shook his head, his lips curling into a smile. "I just thought of something happy."

"Something happy? Oh, I can understand that."

Mizuki's smile was radiant. If one didn't know his personality, they might genuinely be deceived by his harmless, sunny big-brother demeanor.

"Guess how I recognized you at first glance?" Mizuki gestured with one hand, signaling that they could walk and talk while he showed Xu Fan around.

"Because of this?" Xu Fan pointed to the unique emblem of the Senju clan on his chest.

He wasn't exactly a celebrity and doubted the villagers were all aware of his existence.

But the emblem of the Senju clan was different.

"Exactly, Senju-kun is indeed very clever." Mizuki maintained his sunny smile, though internally, he felt pity for Xu Fan.

Under normal circumstances, children of a certain age could enroll in the Ninja Academy, undergo training, and graduate to become Genin.

But Xu Fan is already thirteen this year, at the age when many students would graduate.

Ninja with exceptional potential, such as Kakashi or Uchiha Itachi, had already shone by the time they hit this age.

Mizuki always envied their gifts which came naturally

"A member of the Senju clan, huh" Mizuki could only sigh silently.

If this were someone else, then he wouldn't really care.

But the name "Senju" was synonymous with the history of Konoha.

The God of Shinobi, Senju Hashirama, was a legend known far and wide.

Senju Tobirama was an epitome of iron discipline.

Even Tsunade, a descendant of their line, was a renowned Sannin and the unrivaled master of medical ninjutsu.

And then there was Xu Fan…

Thirteen years old, not a repeater but someone just entering the Academy for the first time.

If Mizuki had guessed correctly, the Third Hokage probably allowed Xu Fan to enroll just out of pity.

Honestly, with Xu Fan's situation, becoming a Genin seemed like an impossible dream. Even successfully graduating was doubtful.

"Another Naruto Uzumaki," Mizuki scoffed internally.

Every time he saw that fox brat trying so hard, he couldn't help but laugh.

No matter how hard Naruto tried, Mizuki believed he could never become a true ninja.

Just like Xu Fan now.

"This is your first time here, right?" Mizuki took a deep breath and started small talk.

"No, I came five years ago, but I couldn't enroll back then. This time, it's all thanks to the Third Hokage," Xu Fan replied casually.

Before officially becoming a student, he needed to visit the administration office with Mizuki for registration.

Along the way, they didn't encounter any other students.

"I see," Mizuki nodded, feeling even more pity for Xu Fan.

"However, if I can make good use of this guy, there might be unexpected results."

Mizuki narrowed his eyes slightly. As a Chunin teacher, he was well aware that in the Hokage's office, there was a scroll with forbidden jutsu sealed within it.

If he could get his hands on it…

"I'll be placed in which grade?" Xu Fan suddenly asked.

The Ninja Academy was not very big, and each grade had only a few students. In a few minutes, they reached the administration office.

Ding

"Congratulations, host, you have successfully arrived at the sign-in location and are officially starting the sign-in task."

The progress bar began.

1%

23%

"Only now does the sign-in trigger?" Xu Fan muttered. He had already wondered on the way here why the sign-in system hadn't activated.

It seemed that the criteria for sign-in this time were different from before.

66%

100%

"Sign-in successful!"

Task reward: Mastery of the five chakra natures: Wind, Lightning, Fire, Water, Earth!

As the system's voice fell, Xu Fan felt a strange power surge within his body, rapidly expanding and blending with him.

"Five chakra natures, huh…" Xu Fan was slightly surprised.

He knew, having spent time in the world of Naruto, something about chakra natures.

Xu Fan was unsure whether all people had five different chakra natures with only one or two being unusually prominent, or if most people had only one or two chakra natures.

For example, Naruto is especially skilled at Wind Release and Sasuke excels at Lightning and Fire Release.

But now, Xu Fan found that he could easily use Wind, Lightning, Water, Fire, and Earth—five of the chakra releases.

However, after finishing the sign-in task, there was no follow-up task.

"It seems like the sign-in tasks aren't always continuous."

But nonetheless, Xu Fan was getting more and more excited about the rewards associated with the sign-ins.

"Alright, stop zoning out."

Mizuki's voice brought Xu Fan back to reality. When he looked over, Mizuki had already handled his registration.

"Now, I'll take you to your class. Are you ready?" Mizuki smiled.

"Yes, of course." Xu Fan responded briskly, already looking forward to it.

However, when Mizuki led Xu Fan to the classroom door, they were surprised to find that there wasn't a single student inside.

"Ah… I just remembered.

Mizuki snapped his fingers as he realized something. "Iruka's class is having a practical training session today."

He looked at Xu Fan and said, "Seems like your luck… isn't the best."

Although Iruka's class students were younger than Xu Fan, they had all enrolled through the normal channels.

In terms of practical training, Xu Fan would probably just end up being a punching bag.

But…

This amused Mizuki.

The more Xu Fan got beaten, the easier it would be for Mizuki to manipulate him into stealing the Forbidden Scroll.
