Chapter 9: 09.Gods, Saiyans, and Earthly Delights: The Arrival of Carlo and Whis
Actually... it's really a Saiyan."
Trunks lowered his head, his expression somber. But after a brief moment, he raised his head firmly and looked directly at Carlo, asking, "What is your purpose for coming to Earth? Are you planning to invade?"
This was Trunks' primary concern. The two beings in front of him exuded a tremendous sense of pressure, a force that made him feel completely powerless. If a fight broke out, he was sure he would stand no chance. But if their true intention was to invade Earth, he would not back down, even if it meant sacrificing his life.
"Aggression?! You're thinking too much," Weiss replied with a calm smile. "Standing in front of you is Master Carlo, the God of Destruction from our Seventh Universe. If he wants to, he could erase this planet—or even an entire galaxy—with a single thought. So there's no question of invasion."
Trunks was stunned. He had no concept of what a God of Destruction truly was, but from the tone of Weiss' words, he understood that it wasn't a title associated with anything good.
"The God of Destruction...?" Trunks muttered, the gravity of the words settling over him.
"First of all, let me ask—what's your relationship with King Kai?" Trunks' tone became more respectful as he spoke.
Since these two were gods, they were clearly not beings he could provoke. Moreover, the pressure coming from them was far stronger than anything he had ever felt, even from King Kai. He could tell that these two were on an entirely different level. Their strength was beyond anything he had encountered. He needed to tread carefully.
"Ho ho ho..." Weiss chuckled softly, covering his mouth. "No wonder you could sense us and figure out who we are. So you're acquainted with the former King Kai, huh?"
He continued, his voice light and informative. "Let me explain: The God of Destruction and King Kai are both among the most powerful gods in this universe, but their responsibilities are very different. King Kai oversees creation, while the God of Destruction, as the name suggests, is tasked with maintaining destruction."
"As for strength, I think you can feel it. The God of Destruction is far more powerful," Weiss added casually, as if discussing something normal.
Trunks was shocked beyond belief. He now understood that the God of Destruction and King Kai were not just two sides of the same coin—they were two entirely different beings, each representing opposites: creation versus destruction. The scope of their power was unimaginable.
"Wait... Lord Carlo, are you planning to destroy Earth?" Trunks asked nervously, his voice trembling. If this man truly was a god, perhaps his destructive powers could justify the devastation.
"Don't worry so much, Trunks," Carlo said lightly, sensing the young Saiyan's anxiety. "We're just here to visit and enjoy Earth's food. There's no plan to destroy anything."
Trunks blinked in surprise. The moment he looked into Carlo's eyes, he saw no malice, no sign of hostility. The weight on his chest slowly lifted. He could tell that Carlo's words were genuine—there was no killing intent behind them.
"Really... really?" Trunks let out a long sigh of relief, the tension draining from his body. The thought of destruction had been a heavy burden, but now he understood that there was no threat to Earth. However, a new question arose—how did Carlo know his name? Trunks hadn't introduced himself, and he had never met Carlo before.
"So your name is Trunks?" Carlo asked casually, as if he'd read Trunks' mind. "By the way, I heard there are many delicacies on your planet. Could you show us where to find them?"
Weiss was already looking eager. After all, he had come to this remote planet with one thing in mind: the food.
"Gourmet food?" Trunks was taken aback for a moment, then immediately said, "Of course, you two are most welcome. Please, follow me."
As long as they weren't planning to destroy Earth, he was happy to accommodate them. Leading the way, Trunks guided them to Capsule Corporation.
Two and a half years had passed since the battles with Babidi and the Demon King Dabura. Earth had begun to recover from the devastating blows it had endured.
Skyscrapers had risen from the rubble, and Capsule Corporation was slowly returning to its former grandeur. While some wounds couldn't be healed—like the loss of lives due to the androids and Dabura—Earth had started to regain its stability.
Upon arriving at Capsule Corporation, Trunks immediately spotted his mother, Bulma, who was working nearby.
"Trunks, who are these...?" Bulma called out as she noticed the strangers, her gaze shifting warily between Carlo and Weiss. Their attire was distinctly non-Earthling, and she couldn't help but feel uneasy.
When her eyes landed on Carlo's tail, the blood drained from her face. That unmistakable Saiyan tail sent a wave of shock through her. Her mind quickly connected the dots: A Saiyan? Just like Vegeta and Goku...?
"Mom, let me introduce you," Trunks said quickly, trying to ease the tension. "This is Lord Carlo, the God of Destruction."
Trunks paused and glanced at Weiss, realizing he didn't know his name. "And this is...?"
"My name is Weiss," Weiss smiled and introduced himself.
"Hello, I'm Bulma, Trunks' mom," Bulma responded, her voice steady despite the fear she felt.
In the past, Bulma would have been bold, even arrogant in the face of such powerful individuals—after all, she was a genius and the heir to Capsule Corporation. But this version of Bulma, shaped by the brutal experiences of the last few years, had become more cautious and reserved. She understood well that Earth could no longer afford to handle any more conflict.
As Carlo glanced at Bulma, he couldn't help but notice the fine lines around her eyes, signs of the years and hardships she had endured. Despite the years that had passed,
her beauty still shone through—more mature, more graceful than he had remembered, even more so than Android 18. He couldn't deny that she had a certain charm, one that outshone even the physical beauty of other women he had encountered.
