Chapter 9: Great plans
The journey to the pack house was oddly quiet. We eventually arrived with no one speaking to each other. The tension in the air was palpable, and I couldn't help but feel a sense of unease.
As we pulled up to the pack house, I could feel my anxiety spiking. I didn't know what to expect, and the silence in the car was starting to get to me. I glanced over at the Alpha, but his face was impassive, giving nothing away.
The car came to a stop, and it was time to get out. But I hesitated, my mind racing with worries. If I got out with the Alpha, my fellow servants might start to resent me. I didn't know why, but I had a feeling that they would eventually hate me.
The Alpha seemed to sense my worries, because he turned to the driver and told him to drop me off at a different location. I watched as he got out of the car and strode into the pack house, his confident stride and imposing presence commanding attention.
I couldn't tear my eyes away from the spot where he had disappeared, even though the car was still moving. I felt a pang of curiosity and wonder, wondering what lay ahead for me and what the Alpha's plans were.
As the car drove away from the pack house, I felt a sense of relief wash over me. I was grateful to be avoiding the potential drama and tension that might have arisen if I had gotten out with the Alpha.
But as the car continued to drive, I started to feel a sense of unease. Where was I being taken? And why had the Alpha decided to drop me off at a different location?
I looked around, trying to get my bearings. We were driving through a residential area, the houses getting progressively nicer and more expensive-looking. I had no idea where we were, or where we were going.
The driver seemed to sense my unease, because he glanced back at me in the rearview mirror. "Don't worry," he said, his voice gruff but reassuring. "You're safe. The Alpha just wants to make sure you're taken care of."
I nodded, feeling a sense of gratitude towards the driver. He seemed like a kind and decent person, and I appreciated his efforts to reassure me.
As we continued to drive, I started to feel a sense of fatigue wash over me. It had been a long and eventful day, and I was starting to feel the effects of the stress and anxiety I had experienced.
I leaned back in my seat, closing my eyes and letting out a deep breath. I didn't know what the future held, but I was determined to face it head-on.
As I drifted off into a light doze, I was vaguely aware of the car stopping and starting again. I didn't know where we were, or where we were going, but I was trusting that the Alpha and the driver had my best interests at heart.
Eventually, the car came to a stop, and I was jolted awake. I looked around, disoriented, and saw that we were parked in front of a small, cozy-looking house.
The driver got out and opened the door for me, helping me out of the car. "This is where you'll be staying," he said, his voice kind and gentle. "The Alpha has arranged for you to have a safe and comfortable place to live."
I nodded, feeling a sense of gratitude and relief. I was exhausted, and the thought of having a safe and comfortable place to rest was almost too good to be true.
As I followed the driver into the house, I couldn't help but feel a sense of wonder and curiosity. What lay ahead for me? And what did the Alpha have planned?
I didn't have any answers, but I was determined to face whatever came next with courage and determination.
