Supernatural Lovers: The revenge

Chapter 8: Respect soon??!!

As I faced the Alpha, I couldn't help but feel a surge of conflicting emotions. My heart was racing, and for a moment, I wondered if it was because I was standing in front of the man who had killed my father. But I quickly shook off that feeling, remembering the gratitude I owed him for saving me from the clutches of that monster.

I bowed respectfully, thanking him and praising him for his bravery. I could feel his eyes on me, piercing and intense, as he listened to my words. When I finished, he nodded curtly, his expression softening ever so slightly as he said, "It was nothing. You should raise your head."

I did as he said, lifting my gaze to meet his. But as I looked into his eyes, I couldn't help but wonder what he was doing here. This wasn't exactly the kind of place you'd expect to find someone of his stature. The bar was seedy and run-down, the kind of place where only the shadiest of characters hung out.

But before I could ask him any questions, he spoke up, his smooth, musky voice sending shivers down my spine. "You are no longer allowed to work in a place like this," he said, his tone firm and authoritative.

I felt a surge of protest rise up inside me. "But I got permission from the matriarch to work here," I said, trying to reason with him.

However, he was unmoved. "I don't care about the matriarch's permission," he said bluntly. "You are not to set foot in this place again. And as of today, you have been promoted to be my personal room cleaner."

I was taken aback by the sudden announcement. "What? But...but why?" I stuttered.

He raised an eyebrow, a hint of amusement dancing in his eyes. "You'll be receiving a payment raise, of course," he said. "And you'll be working in a much safer and more respectable environment."

I was still trying to wrap my head around the sudden change, but before I could ask him any more questions, he turned and walked away, leaving me to follow him.

As we stepped out of the bar, I was immediately struck by the scene before me. Almost everyone in sight was bowing respectfully, their heads lowered and their eyes cast downward. It was a surreal moment, and my instincts told me to join them, to show my own respect to the Alpha.

But before I could even move, he reached out and grasped my arm, holding me in place. "No," he said, his voice low and commanding. "This is the kind of way people will start respecting you soon."

I looked up at him, feeling a sense of confusion wash over me. What did he mean? Why was everyone bowing to him, and why was he telling me that I would be receiving the same kind of respect soon?

I searched his face for answers, but his expression was enigmatic, giving nothing away. I felt a sense of frustration, not understanding what was going on or what he was trying to tell me.

I looked around at the crowd again, seeing the reverence in their eyes as they gazed at the Alpha. It was clear that they held him in high esteem, and I couldn't help but wonder why. What was it about him that commanded such respect?

I turned back to him, hoping that he would offer some kind of explanation, but he simply smiled and nodded, as if to say that I would understand soon enough.

And with that, he turned and walked away, leaving me to follow him once again.

He got to the car and I stood by the corner waiting for him to get in so I can just use a taxi to go home. Home?? When did that place become home? I just scoffed inwardly and continued waiting for him to get in.

He successfully got in and I was about to help him close the door when he suddenly shifted inside the car and tapped the spot next to him, indicating I should sit there. I felt goosebumps crawl unto my skin.

I stood there, frozen in confusion, wondering why he wanted me to sit with him. I thought we were just parting ways, but it seemed he had other plans.

I looked around, feeling a bit awkward, but he just raised an eyebrow, waiting for me to get in.

I hesitated for a moment, but something about his expression made me feel like it was okay to trust him. So, I took a deep breath and opened the door, sliding into the seat next to him.

As I settled into the leather seat, I couldn't help but feel a sense of trepidation. What was I getting myself into? And why was I feeling this strange, fluttery
