Since he was born, Alexis had a special ability. When he was just four years old and had developed some intelligence, he suddenly got the knowledge of this ability in his mind that he had from his birth.

But the activation condition of this ability was very troublesome so he had never been able to activate it before.

In this world, how much successful a person could be dependent mostly on their inherent talent.

Some were born with high affinity for elements while some had no affinity. Some could control mana or aura and there were also people who could not control any of them.

So life was very unfair. But in this unfair world, Alexis had an unfair ability that went against the nature.

The name of this ability was Blood Inscription. This ability allowed Alexis to absorb the blood of a powerful individual to extract and gain their powers. He could inherit that individual's affinities, skills, abilities and more. This was a heretical ability that allowed him to change his inherent talent.

But there was a limitation to this ability and it could only be used five times. So in total Alexis could only absorb the powers and abilities of five individuals.

If he wanted, he could have settled for mediocre abilities and in that case could have absorbed the blood of the strongest person he had seen in his close proximity.

But Alexis was unwilling to compromise. This ability could only be used five times and he did not want to waste it with the blood of an inferior individual. Even the strongest people he has seen were nothing compared to the true powerhouses of this world.

That was the reason why he had came to the super dangerous Fallen Dragon Wasteland after learning that there was dragon blood here. He had risked his life and had finally managed to absorb it.

The dragon who had died in the Fallen Dragon Wasteland was a powerful Primordial dragon who had fought in the Ancient God War according to the legend. So even though it had fallen, Alexis could not hope to find a better candidate to absorb the blood for his blood inscription ability.

According to the rule of the current world, after the end of ancient god war, every child could awaken their latent powers through a ceremony called "Divine Awakening".

All the children of the world could go through the "Divine Awakening" after turning ten. If someone did not went participate in the ceremony, then that person would awaken their powers after turning 13.

That was also the reason why Alexis was forced to risk his life at this moment and was not able to wait a little bit longer to grow up a bit more.

The result of the divine awakening was very important. If someone was found to have high potential after the Divine Awakening ceremony, then that person would be given a lot of benefits.

If Alexis wanted to improve his and his mother's lives, then showing a good result in the Divine Awakening ceremony was very important.

From his knowledge about his Blood Inscription ability, he was informed that the Divine Awakening ceremony would not be able to read this ability of his.

So the result of the ceremony for Alexis would normally be null. In that case, his potential would basically be judged to be zero, which was the worst possible result.

But Alexis could change this outcome if he could manage to absorb the blood of a powerful being and could activate the Blood Inscription ability.

In that case, the ability of the individual whose blood he had absorbed would be shown in the Divine Awakening ceremony and Alexis would be able to gain high status in the nation because of his high potential.

In that scenario, the power of a lowly baron was nothing and Alexis would be able to take his mother out of that place and would even be able to take his revenge on the family any way he wanted.

So with all that in mind, he came to this super dangerous place. He faced many dangers and almost lost his life a few times.

But at the end, he did manage to fulfil his objective and was able to absorb the blood of the primordial dragon.

So what effect would it have on his body ?

After some time had passed, Alexis woke up from his unconscious state. After looking at the sky, he guess that most probably about an hour or two had passed since he fell unconscious.

Alexis was feeling extremely good after waking up. He remembered how the heat of this magma filled area was very uncomfortable for him but now he was feeling no problems. The heat was still as intense as ever but Alexis did not felt any discomfort, instead he felt extremely comfortable.

This was enough for Alexis to understand that something fundamental had changed within him and he was not the weak boy anymore. But just to be sure, he called up the status panel.

Status panel was something that everyone in this world would get after their Divine Awakening. It helped the awakened person to understand their powers with simple numerical values and records.

But for some reason, when Alexis was informed about his Blood Inscription ability, he also got access to his status panel even without going through the Divine Awakening ceremony. And now he was finally looking forward to finally seeing something written on the panel which had stayed empty this whole time.

After opening the panel, the very first thing written on it was -

"Congratulations on activating your inherent ability [Blood Inscription]."

"You've absorbed the blood of a Primordial Dragon."

"Extracting Data... Extraction Succesful... Transferring power... Successful..."

"Congratulations on successfully absorbing the power of a {Primordial Crimson Thunderflame Ruby Dragon}."

Seeing this Alexis' heart danced in joy as his assumption turned out to be correct. The dragon who had fallen was a primordial dragon, strongest even amongst the dragonkind.

In the ancient god war, the Primordial Dragon and the Divine Dragon of the two opposing sides were the strongest amongst the dragon race. Rein would not have been too disappointed even if this dragon was not a primordial or divine one but getting the chance the absorb the power of a primordial dragon was definitely the best possible outcome for him.

Alexis was extremely happy about it as without a doubt now he had one of the best potential amongst the whole humankind.

After relishing in his joy, he got serious again and went to the next page of his status panel to check his new abilities and stats.
