The Adaptive Quincy of Bleach

Chapter 1: The Begining (1)

Sora looked at the sky, it was quite beautiful really, soon he would probably have to go to the Ishida family for training.

If he remembers correctly the man's name was Soken Ishida, this was the guy who would be training him.

He wasn't closely related to them, it was just that his mother was related to their family about 6 generations back.

So, yeah...not that closely related to them.

However they were basically the only family he had left at this point, he could still remember the day he had gone out to get candy with his mother.....a sudden beam of light came out of nowhere, and bam his mother was no there no more.

She was dead....as if that light had zapped away any form of strength that she might have had...he had cried himself to sleep that day....alongside all the day following that day for a solid 3 months.

He wondered what he did to deserve this...though something that did happen after his mom died, was about 5 minutes or so of him crying, someone did show up.

It was Mister Ishida himself, he had somehow found him, apparently, Sora was emitting a lot of it.

Mister Ishida then had him go to the Ishida mansion....later like 3 people in black could be seen speaking with Mister Ishida, they were talking about that burst of spiritual pressure they felt earlier.

The man said it was him, he was just mourning his wife's death.....the people in black seem to believe him.

Though Sora did wonder why the man lied.

Well, it was no bother, he would just continue to mourn his mother's death for another 10 days....that was his original thought, however, before he could move.

Ryuken walked up to him, the man looked down at the boy, his eyes barely seemed to contain any form of emotions whatsoever.

"Sora, has your mother started training you yet"

"No, she was going to start.....but that light came out of nowhere," The boy said with a sad expression on his face.

The man tossed the boy a book.

"By the end of the week, I want you to have mastered everything in this book"

"But...." Sora interjected but the man's cold glare made him do the opposite and just obediently listen to the man.

Going into the room he was assigned, Sora had made sure to find somewhere super comfy to sit down at.

Taking out a pillow, he decided to sit down on it, crossed-legged because it felt more comfortable for him.

The Ishida household truly felt like a maze sometimes, it took him quite a long time to find where he must be going.

The book is now on his lap. He glanced at the book cover, it was a faded navy blue with intricate silver lettering, and it bore the title."The Fundamentals of Quincy Heritage and Techniques."

For just a moment, he hesitated, he did not want to open the book.

However, his mom had always spoken about her Quincy heritage, he wondered what kind of stuff he would be learning about the quinces.

He flipped the book open and started reading the content contained in its pages...

Quincy was a race of spiritually aware humans that hunted hollows, it was not a task, it was just something they seemed to do, from what he could gather, hollows were the malevolent spirits that prey on the living and dead.

He may have been a child, but he could feel like the book was making the Quincy cause seem noble and all that stuff, and then the big bad villains show up, the Shikigami, somewhere about 1000 years ago.

There was a theme going on...a theme about balance...about how everything should be balanced and whatever destroys that balance will be dealt with.

"Balance..." The young boy mutters to no one in particular, this word seems to have been repeated over and over again.

Balance this, balance that.

He turned over the page, he came across a detailed diagram of Quincy's tools and techniques.

His eyes light up with wonder as he studied the Seele Schneider a blade-like arrow.

The next thing he saw was the Quincy cross

Everything looked so nice, he wanted to try them out when he had the time, however now was not that time. The text emphasized the critical role of reishi manipulation—the ability to gather and control spirit particles in the environment.

"Reishi manipulation forms the backbone of every Quincy skill," the book explained. Sora furrowed his brow, mouthing the words to ensure he understood.

Closing his eyes, he decided to see if he could feel Reishi, he calmed himself down and raised his hand trying to feel it.

The first time he felt nothing.... alongside the second...and the third...

On his 30th try, he heard a click.

And then he felt it...The Reishi was all around the room, it felt warm, and he could manipulate his wheel.

He was like a happy child playing around with the reishi....the sound of a wheel spinning could be heard once again.

The more the wheel spun, the better his control over the Reishi became, it almost felt like he was adapting.

It felt so nice.....he wanted to make a reishi construct...however, he could not do it, and no matter how hard he tried nothing came out.

He was kind of frustrated, however, he just kept going on and on and on....up until.

*CLICK*

The boy looked at the sword in his hand with child-like glee.

He did it....his own Quincy Weopon.

His eyes light up with excitement....he did it.

The next moment....Ryuken enters the room.

He had felt it.

Looking down, he saw the young boy holding the sword....made purely out of reishi, the man's gaze looked at the wheel above the boy's head.

The wheel spun once again and Ryuken felt the boy's control over his Reishi improve.

....

Something about this boy felt different.
