The Blade and The Beloved

Scarlet was already in her target's room when he arrived .

He walked and her blade was already at his neck without delay she slit his throat ,blood gushing out with some to her face. He fell back choking on his own blood as he tried to wrap his hands around the cut .

She stood up above him watching the life drain out of him ,but then the door opened it was one of his guards.

She moved but he had already noticed ,he pulled out his gun shooting after her. She took cover behind the couch .

He kept shooting moving closer , but he ran out . Using the chance she jumped out grabbing his hand and twisting it around to his back .

He groaned fighting back ,using his weight he pushed her back knocking her into the door .

The pain spread to her body letting him go , he turned seizing her neck and squeezing , struggling Scarlet pulled out her dagger stabbing him in the abdomen .

He cried out letting go of her , she kicked him back and pulled on his hair and cutting his throat and let go.

She could hear his painful drown call as his blood flooded his mouth and floor .

She took a deep breath standing over them. Placing back her daggers she turned to leave but without warning a sharp pain stabbed her lower abdomen.

"Ahh..." She cried out grabbing onto the door knob for support . It stabbed again more stronger .

Her legs wobbled but she had to leave before more of the guards arrived . With alot of difficulty she rushed to her exist point ,the pain still going on .

She felt her body started to give up , when did she become so weak , her body was now covered in sweat and nausea had set in.

She gulped looking ahead , all she had to do was reach that door and call for back up but her legs stopped when a more stronger stab traveled through her body.

Before she could hit the floor a hand secured her , she breathed looking up to see his face. He bent down carrying her .

"It's hurts " she cried .

" Am here don't worry " he muttered.

Adrian watched the news about the death of their target . She had completed her mission ,but what made him worried was that she had not called it in.

He moved grabbing his phone and calling her ,but got no reply . He tried again and again and on the fifth call she picked up.

"Are you okay " he started.

"She is sleeping " answered Rae.

Adrian frowned.

"You again"

"She almost lost our baby cause of your ...."he was cut off when someone took the phone room him.

"Am fine don't listen to him" she answered.

"What happened ?"her boss asked

She sighed.

"You where right , my body isn't as it used to . Can I take a beak " she asked.

"Mmm, for aslong as you want . We don't have any important requests now and I can explain your absence to them .so take your time ".

She smiled.

"Thank you ,boss ".

"Anything for you Alara. Call me when you need anything " he offered.

"I will" she breathed.

But then Rae's voice was heard in the background.

"No she won't ...am here " hey yelled.

Adrian hang up . He sat back in silence thinking about her .

Alara glared back at Rae.

"What is wrong with you , cant I even answer my own phone ?"

Rae got up ignoring her.

After he brought her back and got her admitted ,the doctor told her to rest and be more careful . Not to be stressed and eat health to keep her baby safe.

Rae has insisted on her staying home and her mother and sister had agreed with him.

"Listen to brother in law ,sister. It's for your own good" her sister walked out of her room.

She had just placed Rae's things into her sister's room.

He has offically moved in ,to look after her and the baby.

"Well am done. See you when I can " her sister grabbed her bag and coat.

"Be careful on your way " she said to her.

"I will , you take care too . Bye brother in law " she waved at Rae who waved back .

The door shut and Alara turns to face Rae.

"We haven't been alone since I woke up , it's time we talked " she said.

He came and sat down next to her.

"Am listening "

"How did you know where I was that night ?" She asked.

"I followed you " he blankly said.

"Huh...do you know how dangerous that was?".

"I do especially for you that was why I came along and I was right you where in danger " his expression had changed.

She looked away. If it wasn't for him she would have been caught .

"And instead of thanking me you seem to be mad about it " he pointed out.

"No am not ....am just angry that you put yourself in danger like that . What if something happened to you then ..?"

He smiled , "Nothing did and I got to save you "

She scoffed ,"Thank you "

"Welcome ,so can I get a reward ?"

"Ahh...a reward for what and what could you possibly want ?". She asked.

"You!" he beamed.

She blinked "Me..".

He nodded ,she realised what he meant and got up trying to run away.

But he grabbed her by the hand yanking her back to him. She landed in his lap and he tightly held her waist pinning her down to him.

"Let me go " she faught .

He didn't and held tighter.

"We both know you have many ways of freeing yourself but haven't done anything ". He pointed out.

"I ...I don't want to hurt you " she stammered her face turning red as his head rested on her shoulder .

He chuckled , his deep voice vibrating in her ear.

"Look at me " she slowly turned to look back at him.

And with doing so she brushed her lips on his ,she pulled back covering her mouth .

He instead moved taking her hands from her mouth and bent closer kissing her .

She didn't fight back letting him kiss her ,feeling his hand at her thigh sliding under her dress .
