The Blockhead Became an Overpowered Magician

chapter 0

0 – Prologue: The Genius Professor

An open lecture at the Academy.

Representatives from various magic towers were seated in the audience of the grand arena, busily jotting down notes while watching the magical contest unfold before their eyes.

Normally, they would be busy analysing prospective wizards and preparing to scout for their respective towers…

But at some point, their writing slowed.

– What an incredible casting speed!

– To freely utilize multi-casting…the kingdom’s future looks bright!

What caught the attention of the people from the magic towers was not the Academy students, but the professor who was opposing them.

Erun, who had been silently opposing the students, thought to himself,

‘It seems like the open lecture has failed.’

In an open lecture, the professor’s job was to assist the students to bring out their latent abilities through the contest. He was supposed to play a quiet, backing role, like a screen.

‘But I can’t just do it half-heartedly.’

Then the students, who should stand out to the wizards, wouldn’t be able to properly exhibit their magic. Either way, a successful open lecture was water under the bridge.

‘Let’s just keep going as it is….’

– Was his name Erun? Truly impressive.

– The rumors were true, he really is a genius.

– To reach such a level at such a young age…

The tower representatives began to think the same thing,

‘We want to bring that professor to our tower!’

Meanwhile, Erun, the focus of attention, had been thinking about escaping from earlier.

‘I need to bolt as soon as it’s over.’

Erun had noticed that the gazes of the tower representatives were unusual. And he had seen enough of people with that look in their eyes.

Time went by and before he knew it, the last student had finished their turn.

“That concludes our open lecture.”

– Sudden rise!

The sight of the tower representatives all standing up at once as he tried to leave his position was rather terrifying.

‘Weren’t wizards supposed to be gentlemanly!?’

The professor hurriedly moved, but the people from the towers, forgetting about the dignity of a wizard, actually started running towards him.

“Professor! This time at our tower, we are sponsoring…”

“I’m not interested.”

“Professor, about that multi-casting technique you mentioned earlier…”

“I am a bit busy at the moment…”

“Professor! I have a question about the assignment…”

“I hope you succeed in your research.”

“Excuse me?”

“Ah, a student. Come to my office later. I am a bit busy right now…!”

“Look at that, Professor Ern!”

“I have a prior engagement so I’m going to have to leave now!”

<Haste>

– He cast a spell all of a sudden?!

– That’s a haste spell, isn’t it?!

– When did he cast it…?!

– Has he even mastered the complex physical enhancement magic?!

Whether they were surprised or not, Ern made a swift exit.

He knew too well that he was a layman who didn’t understand the ‘mag’ in magic.

It was clear that his ignorance would be exposed if he carried on the conversation.

‘I mustn’t get caught…!’
