LIGHTNOVELWORLD Chapter 62: Democracy for real
Clouds, the sky is so beautiful, always different yet always beautiful even if they are not present the imagination is there to fulfill the void. Etheral looked around, seeing nothing but clouds in a blue, orange and dark blue sky. That is what Mina saw, But he didn't thought about the situation. As if his mind was empty he didn't thought anything about himself, instead going off instincts. He felt in peace, as his body was blown away by the cooling winds of this high attitude. He suddenly heard an alarm, as his brain activated again. He didn't know what was happening until the realization, that this dream was about to end was in pursuit.
He opened his eyes, his eyes moving rapidly to all sides. He felt kinda down, tired... He didn't even realize his conversation with Blanche took so long, and if he didn't fell asleep it could have continued on for quite some time. But it was weird, he woke up in a different bed, not like the ones he sleeps on, it was soft and fluffy. Just like a cloud...
He looked to his side, where the sound of the alarm was coming from and he turned it on realizing he was going to have to go to school. He felt as if he was sleep walling once he stood up. He picked his stuff from the small table on which Blanche, who he could only say for sure did it, has placed them there. He left the room, realizing that he was still in his school uniform, glad that he wouldn't have to go through the trouble of getting it back on, and made his bed, as a sign of respect towards the hospitality Blanche had shown him.
Before leaving the room quietly, he began searching for her, to tell her that he is going to have to leave, and to thank for the time she spent with him. He wasn't sure where he was going so he called her name out loud, though not so loud, he just said her name, and she appeared behind him. "Yes, dear?" She asked.
"I will have to go, thank you for the hospitality and the comfortable bed. For next time I will bring you something, to fill in a bit of curiosity, you know." He said, understanding her nature into wanting to know or hear things unknown to her.
"Oh? Alright then, I won't keep you here. Well then... It was a pleasure seeing you in person. I'm looking forward to meeting you again. Goodbye Etheral!" Blanche said with comforting smile as she turned around and walked away. "Goodbye Blanche, i will see you further down the line." He replied as he fell backwards vanishing from her radar and from the backrooms in general before appearing somewhere close to the school. He began walking blinking rapidly to try and get used to the light, which was a success after a few seconds of suffering through it, he felt as if his eyes were dry, so he closed them and began opening them from time to time to see what lies ahead. He finally reached the school gates, and was met by a loud noise of a woman asking question to his classmates. "What the hell is this?" He asked himself walking over to take a closer look. "Wait! You are that guy, hey your are wearing the school uniform. Are you one of All Might's students?" The woman turn her attention as his bored yet loud tone took their attention. "Man you can run, imma keep them on hold." Etheral said to his classmate, allowing them to take a leave without the awkwardness of the situation. "Yeah, what about it?" He asked confidently, his demeanor showed no shame, no awkwardness. "Could you tell us how he is handling the situation?" The woman asked shoving the mic into his face. "He doing well, that's all I can say. Now if you would excuse me, I will be taking my leave, I got classes to attend."
"But wait, I still have more questions."
"Too late for this." Etheral replied phasing through the crowd and entering safe grounds, while walking backwards and looking at them mockingly. "There's nothing you can do now." He said lifting his shoulders before rotating back forward with one smooth motion.
She didn't really try to pursue him, instead she was willing to gamble with her time for someone else who knows about All Might's experience as a faculty member. But by now it wasn't his problem, so he simply walked till he reached the classroom, greeting everyone he sat down at his desk, and rest his head on his arm, he seemed to try to sleep.
But this was shortly interrupted as the first class took place. "Decent work on yesterdays combat training you guys, i saw the video feeds and went over each of your teams results." Aizawa said before commenting on the work of the first teams that fought. Once he finished with the encouragement he continued with what was important for the whole class "Let's get down to business, our first task will decide your future." Aizawa said staying silent for a second for a moment of tension before saying in everyone's relief "You all need to pick a class representative." To which everyone jumped for it, Etheral didn't take it seriously and just sat back and watched as the chaos unfolds. "Silence, Everyone please!" Ida said loudly shutting everyone up "The class representative's duty is to lead others, that's not something just anyone can do. You first must have the trust of every student in the classroom. Therefore the most logical way to fill this position is democratically. We will hold an election to choose our leader!" Most were skeptical about it since they knew each other for such short time. Eth was still just sitting back, looking at them thinking over it. And so an election was held, Etheral didn't pick anyone since he couldn't care less about it, unless he was the one that was chosen... "Huh?" He had a dumbfounded look on his face, he just wanted to take a nap, cause he was running low on energy to burn. In the end he was in a tie against Yaoyorozu and Midoriya.
"Yo Mr. Aizawa is this the hardships you were talking about?" Eth asked joking about it, before laughing at his own joke, at least this feeling of wellness. This comment was a shock to everyone. "Wait you don't want to be a class rep?" Midoriya asked standing beside him and Yaoyorozu. "Nope. Just want to chill." Etheral replied. With this he was taken out of the competition. Allowing him to sleep like Aizawa while they were choosing, resting his head on the desk and using his arm as a pillow. Midoriya seemed nervous and Yaoyorozu... 'Has she been to the military?' Eth asked looking up as it evolved into a cycle, occasionally looking up to see what is happening.
This continued on until it was time for a lunch break, he got himself some food that was offered different than the other days, so he could satisfy his to please himself with some sweet dopamine, he sat beside his friends, of course those who were in a larger group and talked with them for a bit, until. "Warning! Level 3 security breach!" A alarm began blasting through the hallways of the school. Ida asked what was that, and was explained by one of the higher classes. About the fact that level 3 security breach is when someone surpasses the school's defense system. With this everyone began running, except for Etheral who was eating his meal peacefully. "Hey, we need to evacuate." Ida said to him.
"It's fine..." Eth replied, demonstratively eating another spoon of his rice bowl, it was bland but with soy sauce it became amazing. Ida knew what he was capable of and instead of protesting began running, joining in on the wall of people. He stayed calm and instead just ate his meal in peace, it felt nice, just being alone, from a loud place turning into a ghost town wannabe. But this alarm, it was really annoying, the blaring sound was just painful to hear. But then as the message was clear, he was finally left in peace, except the sound of distant screams. "Maybe i should do something?" He asked himself, eating another spoon, before sighing and standing up. He walked through space as he appeared at the school gates, seeing them demolished and falling. "Huh?" He said turning around and seeing the commotion happening. 'I should probably tell those drama queens that they should calm down.' He thought to himself before going for another tree, he appeared in the crowd and was immediately feeling squished. He began phasing through everyone, while spreading out the word, but then. Ida's loud voice was heard, he yelled that everything is fine and gave encouraging words to everyone. Eth saw his presence there unnecessary if they have got it all handled. So he simply returned to the cafeteria and enjoyed the time of quietness he had.
After this was done and the problem was handled, the class resumed as normal, Midoriya and Yaoyorozu taking charge of those two roles, but then Midoriya said that Ida would be most suitable for this position, and let him take his place. "Mhhm, that's how democracy works." Eth said mockingly, but then everyone agreed with the decision, and so Ida took this role.
