Chapter 67: Skipping by
As he landed in the dirty waters of this level, he help his phone high so it wouldn't get to it, before checking that the exits are, a ladder with a hatch, some window? And the usual stuff for a sewer system. He could go up and pray that he goes to level 97 because it was still one that in unknown to him, but it was a 33% chance and that is without the rare occurrence. So he took the route for level 138, the hatch on the ceiling route. He looked at what time it is, and realized that he was wasting a lot of time, with a schedule like his into the backrooms, time is actually a valuable source, just like Aizawa said. He had just 4 hours to play around, before having to rest again, so the situation of him being tired at school doesn't repeat. He predicted that he wouldn't be tired enough to sleep then, so he decided to waste some energy now, as his movements picked up strength and speed. And with the knowledge of how spaced out some actions in the backrooms are, he had even more motives.
Sadly, he can't just run on low gravity in this enclosed, claustrophobic space. So he was forced to just continue on pushing until, his luck came to say it's greetings. Handing him a ladder around one of the corners, sadly this was countered by a smiler, which just looked at him. Just waiting there, camping the exit. "Come at me!" Eth said, before running away, which triggered the smiler to give chase. But the moment it passed the corner, he was gone. "Get juked, idiot." He added before climbing up the ladder and punching the hatch open. His words were filled with hatred, instead they were somewhat sarcastic, or friendly.
As he climbed to level 138 and looked at the somewhat nice scenery. It was open, just for him.
He pulled out his phone from the suit and looked into the level in more detail, he looked through the exits and was a bit disappointed about the lack of many options, being just two. A fuji word one, and some grocery backroom waiting. "A few hours... Nah i ain't waiting this much." He said as he took the first option, before going out of his way to search for the exit with some fast paced movements.
After a few minutes, he was lucky to find a street that suited the entering condition, he ran towards the street, before noclipping down into the streets. He found himself in the dry area of level 183. He looked in his phone for information while a confused entity was wandering around, once it spot him, it began running towards him and attempted to attack him. "Wait a sec!" Eth said signaling for it to stop with his hand while scrolling down to the exit section. He looked at it weirdly as the level 183.1 button seemed just like any other ordinary text, he clicked it, and nothing happened as he expected. So he was left... With the only option available, to return to the level he came from.
"Yeah... As much as i would like to play chase, i want to get out of this level, i hope you understand." Eth said petting the entity out of boldness... He knew it won't attack him while under his command...
And jumped up, quickly noclipping back to level 128. He didn't had any other option, he will have to be patient... Or just bend his rules a little. By simple fulfilling a condition and skipping the time by directly going there. So without a second thought he went for it, going into a convenience store, grabbing a snack and entering the staff room. No questions asked.
He counted a bit the seconds up to three before moonwalking his way out the room and ending up in level 176. He did the casual procedure, checking out unique details and exits. Locked onto the level 11 route, even if he had seen it he still had many levels there to explore. He lifted himself smoothly off the ground before landing on the top of one of the shelves and looking around for the employs room. He didn't see any from where he was standing, so he continued on moving, taking little time to recognize the place for any doors. But this didn't prevent him from spotting the target. He jumped to it and forcefully opened the door, before entering. Now he needed to find the storage room, so it went, on... and on... and on, until finally he found what he was looking for, impatiently he didn't even bother opening the door as he passed right through it.
The truck was just about to go, which cut the time for which he will have to wait. As he it booted up, he began following after it, even matching it's speed, when he wasn't even going at the fullest.
This continued on for a few good minutes, until finally, the scenery transitioned into level 11. He still had a few more hours, so he rolled another random number, and getting the number 24. "Level 204 it is then." He said before beginning his search for that chained fence. 2-hours on the clock.
He searched for quite some time cutting him quite short, he jumped the fence without a issue, practically flying far past it as he was met by a foggy field beyond that fence. It felt weird, somewhat welcoming in a way. This got him thinking. "Man... The stillness here is just... Maybe I should strive to be like it from time to time..." He said to himself looking down at his phone, his mind seemed to purified and more acceptable, he felt somehow, peaceful all the sudden. He looked down at the exits, only two of them, with the first option not giving him new things to explore. Still he remembered how nice level 10 was, but he was now on exploration so, he decided to go with the second exit. Being the one to level fun, he began looking around for a pinata, practically flying over the field from time to time to give himself more boost as he wasn't this aerodynamic.
He saw many fossils on his way as this level and... The majority of the levels were meant for normal human beings, and he... He was just acting like one, even somehow imitating their physical needs just to not feel left out.
As he witnessed the last fossil he will see for this encounter with the level, he jumped at it and with a single well aimed punch broke it, causing him to noclip into the ground and appearing on some broken floor tiles floating in an empty void. It seemed to have been destroyed, but by what or how he wondered. Yet he didn't had answers... And neither did he need them, he just sat back and looked over as this scenery of this similar void to the one of level 999 provoked a strange feeling of comfort within him. This carried on for a few more minutes before he decided that this was enough exploration for now, he felt tired. So without any more questioning, he opened a wound in reality and stepped through it, witnessing the beyond again, but this time his brain just turned it off, before reappearing into his room on level "Zipride" He looked out into his past and realized he was more happy, Now he just seemed depressed in comparison.
The first time he created a level... "Good times..." He said before giving a sigh, this moment marked his inspiration as a creator an engineer of sort, an invention is. He should make more stuff, not only updates to his old creations. Something completely new. But what exactly... He didn't know yet, so with tiredness taking over, he closed his eyes and allowed himself to rest, with hope that his dreams would give him an idea, just like last time.
