The Executioner of Horror Films

Chapter 1: Prologue: Chosen into a World of Fear

Silence has always accompanied me like a faithful friend. Mark was an ordinary young man, in whose heart there was no place for emotions, and who only occasionally allowed himself to feel. A strange routine — studying, work, gray everyday life, diluted by the noise of the TV and dreary movies. Sometimes, looking at the screen, it seemed to me that life consisted of endless horror stories, ghostly creatures and maniacs, but all this remained just a part of empty nights.

I missed real emotions the way other people miss holy simplicity. But in a way, I was happy with my existence. I wasn't looking for adventure or extreme sports—it just wasn't in my nature. But one day, on an ordinary evening, the world broke all the usual boundaries.

The light from the street lamp lured me for a walk. The thick fog that filled the streets took away the familiar outlines. I was tracking my shadow when an obsessive spark suddenly came to my soul. It came from the forest, as if rushing towards me from other worlds. Instinctively, I felt the silence envelop me, and I couldn't resist. I stepped into the darkness.

The forest greeted me with the heavy breathing of the night, covered with darkness and eerie sounds. Something stirred inside me, as if a long-awaited energy was awakening from a long sleep. But I remained indifferent. I didn't know what was waiting for me beyond the gray days and cold nights.

Soon I found myself in front of a majestic statue, glowing with an ominous shimmer. I touched its stone facets, and Suddenly, the world shattered into pieces. I was torn out of reality and found myself in a gloomy hall where shadows were waiting for me.

An entity, great and powerful, appeared before me. She talked about fate, that I was chosen. "You will become the executioner of the worlds, Mark," she said with a deep and glassy intonation that sounded like eternal night. "You will kill the villains by collecting their power and buying new abilities."

I painfully pulled myself together. Most of me couldn't understand, couldn't even feel fear. It was like looking at myself from the outside, as if I had become just a lifeless figurative puppet, and not a living person. I didn't ask for it, I didn't dream about it. But at that moment, something clicked inside. Fear flowed into something else—excitement.

Now I found myself in a world that I had only dreamed of before. I had to leave my serene life to become a warrior in this cruel nightmare. I looked at the interface again: maps, glasses, systems that promised untold powers—as if comics and anime had merged together for my sake. But did I have the desire to use it?

With every passing moment, I realized that my first victim was Jason Voorhees, a villain who goes to the very core of human fear. The uncertainty of his presence made my heart beat faster, but I remained emotionless.

It was my life, plunging into worlds of pain and fear. Learn to be an executioner. Make a choice between saving innocent victims and destroying monsters. But something inside was still cold. I decided that I would not let my emotions control me. I will be just a tool, a mechanical shooter in the game, who has forgotten about his human nature.

New horizons were opening up before me, and no matter how scary it was, I felt it was time to move forward—completing my inner journey to the other world. I was ready to become the one they were waiting for, and at the same time leave my real dreams in oblivion.
