"What is it now?" Ming Yie grumbled in her sleep as her phone kept ringing incessantly first thing in the morning.

Though she had decided to escape this family, shouldn't she at least first get some good sleep?

What was the use of ruining her sleep and food cycle just to escape?

It was not like anyone cared about her in this family to bother a search party or anything.

Well, she didn't plan to leave the city or even the country, so it wouldn't be that hard to find her, but she couldn't be bothered about her flawed plans.

She was a spy foe god's sake, how could her plans be flawed?

That's how she slept peacefully while Shen Pei'er kept tossing and turning, jealous of Ming Yue to have attracted an A-List Actress, Zhi Ying's attention.

Anyways, Ming Yue finally picked up the phone and said in a particular cold and angry voice.

"Who?"

Though it was just one word, the other party was stunned before given the chance to speam.

"...Is this Miss Ming Yue?"

Hearing her name being called by a hoarse male voice made her uncomfortable first thing in the morning.

But she resisted the urge to hang up the call and block the caller.

After all, no sane person would call someone so many times in the wee hours of the morning.

Surely, they had something important to discuss with her, or so she thought.

"Yes, I am Ming Yue but who are you?" She asked while massaging her throbbing temples from tiredness.

"I am Lawyer Feng's assistant and she asked me to contact you regarding Miss Shen's inheritance."

Hearing those words, Ming Yue immediately sat up, too shocked to keep lying down anymore.

"What did you say?" She immediately questioned, too baffled to think about it anymore.

"As I was saying, it's regarding Miss Shen's inheritance based on her will that she asked Lawyer Feng to carry out upon her demise."

The tone was flat as if it were stating something minor, but that was only because he was used to doing that.

For normal people, hearing their elders left behind a will was more troublesome than anything.

What if there were inexplicable conditions forced upon the juniors like marriage or threatening to donate everything to charity if not fulfilled?

Thus, Ming Yue found herself extremely anxious as she gulped and nervously asked, "...Are there any special conditions on it?"

In all seriousness, she didn't want to be part of the will and hoped that to be the case, but reality told her otherwise.

"It's not very convenient to talk about it on the phone, so can you please give the Shen Family's address?"

"...Yes."

Ming Yue didn't need to think much, the man's word asking for Shen Family's address instead of her address indicated something she didn't want to hear.

Unfortunately, this meant her plans to leave the Shen Family for the time being had to be recalibrated.

"Alright. We'll be there by forenoon."

With that, the phone was hung up and Ming Yue was still in a daze before walking to the bathroom and freshen up.

She still had to tell them about the will or else they might end up doing some stupid shit.

She really felt like the Shen couple was capable of such foolishness.

"What do you think, system?" She asked to initiate a conversation and maybe get some details out of her Gossip System, but it seemed it understood her quite well.

"Tsk," Ming Yue clicked her tongue as her plan failed while wiping herself dry and changing to another set of casual clothes.

Just a pair of short sleeve t-shirt with a blue jeans and white sneakers and she felt it was more than enough.

In her previous life, she had to dress up as various roles as a spy and even before that, to satisfy the vanity of rich families.

After all, if they were truly rich, no one would dare say anything but actually admire her and even follow her as if she was the trend itself.

Thus, she didn't care for any appearances but that didn't mean she would put effort to look ugly.

No one liked ugly things or people at first glance and it was a harsh truth of society masked beneath lies like looks don't matter, personalities do.

"Heh," she scoffed at her previous naive self before reaching down to the dining room where breakfast was almost complete.

Thankfully, she could sense their gaze and predict some snarky comments by her brother before stupid white lotus comments by Shen Pei'er.

That's why, she directly stirred the conversation, "A lawyer will be coming."

Her statement was too out of the blue that even her somewhat taciturn father was shocked.

"What?"

He couldn't understand why would a lawyer be coming to their home and no matter how he racked his brain, it didn't make sense.

As if sensing his emotions and others being dumbfounded, Ming Yue directly broke the silence.

"It's regarding Grandma Shen's will and before you ask, I've no idea about it. I only got a call and got delayed because of it."

There was no way she was going to admit she woke up because of the call or she would've slept till noon.

Anyways everyone would be out by noon, making her escape far smoother.

She simply didn't care or regard for it though.

And even after mentioning it, she just casually sat down to have breakfast, ignoring their suspicious and inquisitive looks.

Although her brother was dying to question her and Shen Pei'er was angry with jealousy, their father had already signalled silence upon them.

If they went against their father, it wouldn't be good but neither understood why he believed Ming Yue so readily?

In fact, he didn't and he was the one with he most suspicions.

But didn't she already tell about the lawyer and will?

Then, wasn't it just about waiting a few hours, so why bother asking her, just ask the lawyer.

He really seemed to have a functioning brain and asked the only crucial question in this situation.

"When will the lawyer be arriving?"

After all, he ought to run the company and buisness, it didn't run by itself or his stupid son.

"By forenoon, they said," Ming Yue replied as she paused before beginning her breakfast and then continued as if nothing happened.
