The Former BOPE Police Oficcer

Chapter 4: Chapter 7-8

Chapter 7 – Workouts and Connections

The casual encounters between Gigi Hadid and Rafael Valente were becoming more frequent, and the bond between them continued to grow. Now, at a time when both were seeking more balance in their routines, Gigi decided to invite Rafael to her gym in New York.

"You seem to already know a lot about physical conditioning," Gigi said as the two walked towards the entrance of the luxurious gym. "I bet you could help me improve my training."

"I don't know if I've mentioned it before, but I have a degree in Physical Education," Rafael replied with a restrained smile. "So, yes, I can help."

Gigi's eyes widened in surprise.

"Of course you are. You're the complete package, Rafael."

He just laughed, opening the door for her to pass through.

The gym was spacious and equipped with the best equipment, full of natural light that came in through the huge windows. The smell of new equipment and the sound of weights being lifted created the perfect environment for training.

— Let's start with what you normally do. — Rafael suggested, as he adjusted the weights on a machine.

Gigi agreed, starting with her usual routine. Rafael watched her closely, correcting small details in her posture.

— Keep your core tighter. It protects your spine. — He said, positioning himself next to her as she did a squat.

— Like this? — Gigi asked, adjusting herself.

— Exactly. Now you're activating the right muscles.

When she finished the set, Gigi sat on a nearby bench, wiping the sweat from her forehead with a towel.

— You make it sound so simple. — She commented, smiling at him.

— It's not complicated, Gigi. With the right technique, you can maximize your workout and avoid injuries.

— I have to admit, it's a little intimidating to train with someone who used to be in BOPE and DCT. — She joked. — I feel like I'm in a military training camp.

— Don't worry, there's no shouting or orders here. Just guidance. — He replied, his tone light.

After a few sets of exercises, Rafael began to adjust Gigi's workout, introducing new movements to strengthen specific areas.

"Why don't we try something more functional?" — He suggested, holding a kettlebell.

Gigi hesitated for a moment.

"I don't know... This looks heavy."

"Trust me," Rafael said, handing her the kettlebell. "Start with this, it's lighter. We'll work on strength and balance at the same time."

He demonstrated the movement, rotating the weight in a fluid and controlled manner. Gigi watched him closely, impressed by his grace and precision.

"Okay, let's go," she said, imitating the movement.

As she trained, Rafael stayed close by, offering tips and adjustments.

"Perfect," he said after a few minutes. "See? It's not that hard."

"Maybe with you around," Gigi replied, smiling.

Between exercises, Gigi approached Rafael, curious about how he had developed so much knowledge about physical training.

"Have you always been so passionate about it?" she asked, picking up a bottle of water.

"Since I was young," he replied, with a nostalgic tone. "When I joined the Army, I realized how essential physical conditioning was. But I also understood that it's not just about strength. It's about understanding your body, respecting your limits, and knowing how to overcome them."

"That makes sense," Gigi agreed. "I think, in my case, it's always been more about aesthetics. Being a model is kind of demanding in that sense."

"But you're more than that, Gigi," Rafael said, looking directly at her. "It's good to want to take care of your body, but it's also important to think about how it makes you feel, not just how you look."

His words touched Gigi in an unexpected way. It was rare to find someone who saw her beyond her public image and who also valued her human side.

After almost two hours at the gym, they both finished their workout with a stretch.

"I don't think I've ever trained so well," Gigi commented, as she stretched on the mat.

"You have potential, Gigi. You just needed a little push," Rafael replied, with a discreet smile.

As they were about to leave, a group of people began to murmur and look at them. Some even took pictures discreetly with their cell phones.

"It seems we've attracted attention," Rafael commented, noticing the looks around.

"Welcome to my world," Gigi replied, laughing.

He shrugged.

"As long as you don't mind, neither do I."

"I don't mind. But maybe we should avoid the busiest gyms next time," she suggested, as they walked towards the exit.

"Next time?" He asked, arching his eyebrow.

"Sure," Gigi replied, smiling. "I won't let you get away that easy, Brave."

Rafael laughed, shaking his head.

"Okay, Hadid. I'm in."

When Gigi arrived at the apartment that night, she felt renewed, both physically and emotionally. Rafael brought something unique to her life: a balance between strength and lightness that she couldn't find in anyone else.

While she was making tea, a message arrived on her phone. It was from him.

It was a good workout. Let me know when you want to do it again.

Gigi smiled as she read it, feeling her heart race.

Absolutely. Thank you for pushing me beyond my limits. It was incredible.

Behind the scenes in Gigi's life, something special was developing. And she knew that with Rafael by her side, there was much more to come.

Chapter 8 – Yolanda's Call

It was a sunny afternoon when Gigi Hadid finished another workout with Rafael Valente. She returned to her apartment, feeling energized and in a good mood.

Upon entering, she took off her sneakers, put her gym bag on the floor and went straight to the kitchen to get a bottle of water. As soon as she took the first sip, her cell phone rang.

"Mom?" Gigi answered, surprised.

"Gigi, honey." Yolanda Hadid's calm voice came on the other end of the line. "How are you?"

"I'm great. And you? How are things on the farm?"

"Okay, but I'm more interested in knowing what's been going on in your life lately." Yolanda said with a slightly inquisitive tone.

Gigi frowned, but answered casually.

"Well, nothing much new. Just work and workouts…"

"Gigi." Yolanda interrupted, her tone now more direct. — Don't lie to me. I saw some pictures of you circulating on the internet.

"Pictures?" Gigi asked, trying to sound nonchalant, but her heart started beating faster.

"Yes, pictures of you with a tall, impressive man, who no one seems to know who he is." Yolanda continued. "So who is he?" Gigi sighed, walking over to the couch and sitting down.

"Oh, Mom, he's just a friend."

"Just a friend?" Yolanda repeated, with a tone of disbelief. "Then why do you look so happy in those pictures?" Gigi smiled, feeling her face flush, even though she was alone.

"Okay, I'll tell you. His name is Rafael Valente. He's Brazilian and he just moved to New York."

"Brazilian?" Yolanda asked, intrigued. "And what does he do?"

"He…" Gigi hesitated, remembering how Rafael valued his privacy. "He's an investor." Yolanda was silent for a moment.

"Just that?" She asked, her tone suspicious.

"Well, he has an interesting past." Gigi admitted, biting her lip. "He was in the Brazilian Army Special Forces and then he was a police officer in BOPE, you know, that famous battalion."

"Special Forces?" Yolanda repeated, now clearly more interested. "And how did you meet him?"

"It was a coincidence. He helped me one day, and then we started talking." Gigi explained, trying to simplify.

"Hm." Yolanda murmured thoughtfully. "He seems... impressive."

"He is." Gigi admitted, feeling a slight heat in her face.

"And do you like him?" Yolanda asked directly.

"Mom!" Gigi exclaimed, trying to hide her smile.

"Don't play dumb, Gigi. You know how protective I am when it comes to you and Bella."

"I know, and I appreciate that." But Rafael is different. He's not interested in my fame or my money. — Gigi explained.

Yolanda was silent for a few seconds before answering.

— That's good. But I still want to meet him.

— Mom, we're not even dating. — Gigi said, laughing nervously.

— Still. — Yolanda answered with a sharp but playful tone.

Gigi sighed, but there was a smile on her lips.

— Let's take it slow, okay?

— Okay. But, Gigi, promise me you'll be careful. He seems amazing, but he's still someone new in your life.

— I know, Mom. Thank you for worrying.

— Always, honey. Now, I'm going to get back to my business. But I'll want more updates on this Rafael.

— I promise I'll tell you everything. — Gigi said, laughing.

After the call, Gigi was thoughtful. Rafael had really become a constant and important presence in her life. But the idea of introducing him to her mother was a whole other level of commitment.

Pulling out her phone, she typed a message to Rafael:

My mother saw pictures of us and asked about you. It seems like you made a good impression, even without knowing her.

The reply came quickly:

I hope I said nice things. I don't want any trouble with your mother.

Gigi laughed, feeling lighter.

You're a real mystery to her. Maybe one day you'll meet.

When you feel like the time is right. I don't mind.

As the night wore on, Gigi couldn't shake the feeling that Rafael was becoming an important part of her life. And even with Yolanda's questions and concerns, she felt ready to find out where this could lead.
