The God of calamity’s wife book 2: return of the 13th

Aksel sat accross the room from the Alpha in silence as he watched him sip a glass of wine. 

He swirled it around and appeared in thought and then set it down. 

"So what do you have to gain by spending so much time with the Alpha Slayer?" He said after a while and took a sip. 

Aksel had heard of that nickname before and knew it referred to Saoirse. "What do you mean?" He asked. 

"Well, obviously, I have heard about your rampage that the two of you have been on, and now you reached my territory. So I thought I would take the initiative to ask you personally what your plan is? 

Are you trying to rise to power? Are you trying to prove something by taking my land?" 

Aksel pursed his lips and then replied, "Saoirse is searching for the people she has lost in her life. She is trying to find them before the war does. She has amnesia you see, so she doesn't know where they would be. She is searching every pack to find them. I have told her I am the one but she doesn't believe me." 

He set the glass down and poured a glass of wine for Aksel and moved it over to him. He sipped it and was surprised that it was blood. He nearly spat it out, but then realized that it was pretty good. 

"Don't fool me, I know you're the one in charge, that girl is just your means to an end. I've heard she's pregnant. What do you gain from her that I can't give you?" The Alpha asked. 

"It's not like that. We have common goals, I mean yes, she's stronger than me, but I can do things myself. I just wanted to help her out." 

"So you like her." He asked. "Stronger than you." He laughed.

Aksel shook his head and felt it turn red, "no no no! I mean that-" 

"Don't fool me boy!!!!" The Alpha exclaimed, slamming the glass down, "you have something that you gain, if you aren't the father why come close to her!!!!! What is it that you get from her??!!!" 

Aksel glanced at the gangsters that surrounded them in the room and adjusted his grey suit and sat up straighter. 

A challenging look appeared in his eye, and he realized that this Alpha was a man of business and influence and he would possibly make a good ally.

 "To be truthful, she is very powerful. When I was younger, I lived in her pack and I saw her arrive with some vampire boy and the two of them took charge of my pack. We had some very glorious hunts and she began preparing to wage war with the vampires, which no other Alpha had done. She was the Luna.

However, she got pregnant and went and disappeared for 18 years and didn't really become the Luna for very long before it was announced that she had died. 

She is the daughter of the great Timoteus. That is what I heard, she is the sister to the great Alpha Linus. 

The alpha raised his eyebrow at this news. "So you tell me, she is Saoirse Timoteusdotter? Linus did hold her in high regard."

Aksel nodded and continued, "I was surprised to see her return without recollection of her previous life, and still pregnant, and she doesn't even look like she has aged. 

I don't know how she did it, but there is an opening now for her to have a right hand man, so I decided that it would be me. 

I would be the one to help her rise to power and if we ever find that husband of hers, I just have to make sure she doesn't know about it and I'll kill him myself. 

I know she doesn't like me back, but with time, and pressure I think she will. I can be very charming. And what else would she do with her litter?" 

The alpha smiled, "So you think you will be the one to finally take the pack away from Linus and unite us with the wolves of Mani?"

"Not only that, but we will defeat the vampires and gain the respect of the gods that we werewolves deserve. No longer will we live in the shadow of the sons of Noir." 

The alpha smiled. "Well, obviously I do not want to give you guys my territory, so what can I do to be a part of this plan of yours?" 

Aksel leaned forward and took a sip of the blood and swallowed it. "Back then, I sent a friend of mine to kill him, hoping I could make for myself an opportunity to get close to her. A beast from his beasts world.

"She is very beautiful, so I wanted her right away. The fact that she was with a vampire made me so mad, and that she would allow him- that Linus would allow him to be our Alpha- meant she wouldn't just leave him. So I sent a friend of mine to kill him, and that was when I recieved the sad news that they had formed a blood bond, which is not common at all amongst werewolves. It is very discouraged in our culture for this precise reason, that when one spouse dies, the other dies as well. 

"I don't know how she ended up back alive, but apparently she must have a bond with him, so I'm assuming he is around somewhere as well. Maybe he doesn't remember her either, but bonds eventually bring each other back together so I know he will show up eventually. 

"Occasionally, she feels his emotions. So he can't be very far. In fact as we have journeyed towards your territory, she has shown signs of a connection between them and sometimes gets strong feelings that embarrass her, as if he is dating someone else. She tries to hide it from me by staying away from me, it is confusing to her." 

Aksel paused and got a fiery look in his eye. "I plan to get together with her, so this makes me very frustrated that she won't get close to me because of it. Also that she gets feelings like that because of another man, it angers me beyond anything I can put into words. I don't want her but I want her, it is about power for me.

"A few days ago while battling the most recent Alpha, she got very emotional and nearly lost. She ended up killing him herself just because she nearly lost her mind. Then she was crying and confused and filled with so many emotions, I knew she must have felt his interactions with his other lover. She hid in the bathroom for a while."

"If you surrender to Saoirse, then I will let you keep your position as Alpha, and I would need you to help me with one thing." Aksel said. 

"Let me guess. Get rid of her husband? Are you saying that he is probably in my territory?" 

Aksel smiled and held out his hand. 

"Then it's a deal." The Alpha said. Then he turned towards his gang. 

"Silvertooth, please invite our lady friend to dinner. We need to make a good first impression." 

He began walking away, and the Alpha added, "Oh, and tell that leader of yours that you should bring in that police officer he's been dealing with. If anyone is strong enough to be the man we are looking for, it is probably him."
