The God of Ice and Fire at Hogwarts

Chapter 170: I Want to Taste Your Pain

Lynn passed through the Leaky Cauldron and walked down the streets of Diagon Alley.

Lynn noticed that Irina was following him and hesitated to speak. He frowned, stopped, and asked, "What's wrong?"

Irina hesitated and expressed her thoughts.

When Irina mentioned that Lynn seemed a bit like a Dark wizard, Lynn was stunned at first, then showed a surprised expression. He pulled a crystal pendant from his pocket and put it around his neck.

In the past, when practicing the Unforgivable Curse in Nockturn Alley, Green had observed from the sidelines and had taken several measures to reduce the impact of the Unforgivable Curse on him.

However, last night, when he was feeling down, he forgot Green's warning and used the Unforgivable Curse on the Muggle who had raised a knife to harm him.

It was only then that he appeared in front of Irina, looking haggard because of the effects of the Unforgivable Curse.

Indeed, people often act impulsively when under too much pressure.

Although the Muggle had wanted to kill someone and deceive him, Lynn wasn't the type to kill an unarmed Muggle who was defenseless against wizards.

Of course, Lynn didn't feel sympathy for the Muggle who died due to losing control of his emotions.

Although the Pure Heart and Patronus charms had repeatedly cleansed his mind, the effects of the Unforgivable Curse had caused subtle changes in Lynn's character.

Lynn smiled bitterly.

Fortunately, amidst the misfortune, he had already realized that he had been affected. Now, it wasn't too late to correct it!

"You're right. It's true that some Dark Magic has affected me. Thank you for reminding me."

Lynn thanked Irina.

After putting on Patronus, the mist that had originally covered his eyes cleared, and the faint blood vessels that had been visible in his eyes disappeared.

Once Lynn regained his original state, the two of them started buying textbooks for Hogwarts for the upcoming year.

When Lynn and Irina were about to buy the necessary materials for Herbology class, Irina seemed to have thought of something. She happily told Lynn, "By the way, Lynn, I planted them last time. The cabbage and the venomous tentacles in my magical plant bag are ripe!"

Half a week ago, when Irina went to check on the magical plants in the bag, she found that the five Chinese cabbage plants and the five venomous tentacle plants that had been planted were all fully matured.

This also meant that Irina now had another conventional method of combat.

After all, these magical plants weren't disposable; they could be recycled and replanted in the magical plant bag after she used the Chinese cabbage to tear her enemies apart.

Unless the magical plants used in battle were destroyed by the enemy's magic.

Lynn said cheerfully, "Then how about we go to Knockturn Alley to find you a training partner and test out the power of these two magical plants?"

Upon hearing this, Irina involuntarily took two steps back, and there was a hint of panic in her eyes as she looked at Lynn.

"Lynn, what's wrong with you? You're not the type of person to use other wizards as guinea pigs for testing magic. Don't scare me..."

Irina said with a hint of fear.

She felt that the boy standing in front of her had disappeared during the summer vacation, as if he had turned into a completely different person, making her feel strange.

Lynn was once again stunned. It was only then that he remembered that Knockturn Alley in the UK wasn't better than Nockturn lane in France.

The Dark wizards living Nockturn Lane in France were all terrible beings. Even if Lynn killed them a thousand times, he wouldn't have any psychological burden.

But Knockturn Alley in the UK was different. Although Knockturn Alley was known as a gathering place for Dark wizards, not all the people living there were Dark wizards. There were also unfortunate people who couldn't survive and were desperate, with no choice but to live in Knockturn Alley.

Lynn realized that he had been affected by the Unforgivable Curse again. Even though he wore the Pure Heart pendant around his neck, he had spent those days practicing the Unforgivable Curse, and many subconscious decisions were ingrained in his mind.

"Expecto patronum!"

Lynn exhaled slowly, waved his wand, and cast the spell.

A silver wolf emitting white silver light appeared next to Lynn, drawing exclamations from the wizards around him. It circled Lynn twice before merging with his body.

Lynn's expression softened as he felt wrapped in a wave of joy.

"I'm sorry, Irina, for scaring you... Let's find a place to sit later, and I'll tell you what happened during the summer vacation, including why I look like this now. How about that?"

Lynn looked at the girl beside him with gentle eyes.

Irina hesitated and nodded.

After seeing the Patronus appear beside Lynn, she was convinced that Lynn wasn't a Dark wizard pretending to be one. Though she didn't understand why Lynn had changed so much, she didn't mind hearing about it. After all, he was the boy who had protected her.

Soon, the two bought everything on their list and found a corner of a café to sit down.

Lynn took a sip from the coffee in his hand. He hesitated for a moment and then told Irina that he had secretly learned Dark Magic during the summer vacation and practiced the Unforgivable Curse in Nockturn Alley, France.

"So that's it..."

It seemed there were ripples in Irina's clear eyes.

Although Lynn didn't directly explain with his words, she could guess from his words that Lynn had learned this Dark Magic in order to have the strength to protect himself in the future.

Breaking taboos to protect...?

It seemed... quite romantic...

Irina hesitated for a moment, and her expression gradually became firm. She quietly asked, "Lynn, can you teach me that Dark Magic... including the Fiendfyre Curse and the Three Unforgivable Curses?"

If she could learn these powerful magics, perhaps she wouldn't need to let others worry about her anymore...

"However, this Dark Magic will affect the wizard's mind. You must have seen how I looked just now."

Lynn wasn't surprised that she made this decision, just as he hadn't hesitated in doing so.

But he hoped she understood that Dark Magic wasn't as simple as she might think. Just casting a simple Fire Curse—if she didn't have absolute control over the flames—she would probably burn herself when she cast it for the first time.

"But," the girl bit her lip, "I also want to experience the pain and trials you've gone through before."

It's just the erosion of Dark Magic. Since Lynn could survive, then it was just walking the same path Lynn had walked!
