Chapter 171: The Silver Fox Guardian and the One Who Can’t Leave Her
Upon hearing Irina's words, Lynn's heart softened.
He spoke gently, "I can teach you those dark spells, but I don't want you to be like me, diving into them without any preparation. Before learning those dark spells, you first need to learn the Patronus Charm."
During the days he practiced the Unforgivable Curses, Lynn became increasingly aware of the importance of the Patronus Charm. It could take away a wizard's anger and fill their body with happy emotions.
It could be said that without the Patronus Charm, even if Lynn could remain calm with a pure heart, his heart would grow darker and darker under the powerful negative impact of the Unforgivable Curses.
Therefore, if Irina could master the Patronus Charm before learning these dark spells, she could avoid many unnecessary detours that he had made.
Upon hearing this, Irina nodded. She naturally understood that Lynn's request was for her own good. Not to mention, mastering the Patronus Charm would be absolutely beneficial for what they might encounter in the next school year.
After all, the Patronus Charm is the only spell generally recognized in the wizarding world that can repel Dementors.
"By the way, Lynn, I just saw your Guardian. Is it a wolf?" Irina asked curiously.
Lynn smiled and replied, "Yes, a silver wolf. You should still remember the Patronus Charm, right?"
Irina naturally said, "Yes, I remember it, call the guardian Charm."
Lynn looked around the surroundings and said, "Actually, the Patronus Charm isn't as difficult as people think. It only requires you to recite the incantation and have enough happy emotions. As long as the emotions are in place, you can even release the Patronus easily without making specific gestures. However, the cafeteria isn't suitable for practicing the Patronus. Why don't you come to my house?"
Irina thought for a moment and agreed.
After leaving the cafeteria, Irina first went to buy chicken, duck, and goose brains as dinner for the little winged demon, then followed Lynn to Rowle Manor.
Together, the two met Gale, who was standing not far from the entrance of Diagon Alley, and traveled to Rowle Manor through Gale's ghostly presence.
Since this was not Irina's first invitation to Rowle Manor, Gale did not appear at the entrance as he had before but went straight to the exterior of Rowle Castle.
Lynn led Irina to meet Rowena, then took her directly to the training field behind the castle.
"You should try first," Lynn showed Irina the standard Patronus Charm gestures and then said to her.
Although you can ignore the gesture of casting a spell if you're in a good mood, it's better to follow the standard when using the Patronus Charm for the first time.
Irina gently waved the wand in her hand, and beautiful memories of lying on the couch and petting a cat in her previous life flooded her mind, causing happy emotions to surge like a tide.
"Expecto patronum!" Irina shouted, and a silver-white light burst from the tip of her wand, filling her body.
The silver-white light became increasingly solid, but after a few minutes, this light showed no sign of condensing into a form for a long time.
"Focus and think of all the things that make you happy!" Lynn encouraged from the side.
Irina nodded slightly, closed her beautiful eyes, and began to recall her lovely memories.
The beautiful memories from her past life allowed her to summon a rich cluster of silver-white light, but what about the beautiful memories from this life?
Receiving the acceptance notice from Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry and realizing she had traveled to the magical world of Harry Potter? Making friends with the characters she loved from the original work and integrating into this small group?
Or perhaps, knowing that Lynn, who had been kind to her many times, was her fellow countryman, gave her a compatriot in this new world?
Thinking of this, the silver-white light in front of Irina seemed to condense in one direction. A large silver-white cocoon enveloped her body, and the Patronus that was about to form was gestating within this great silver-white cocoon.
At that moment, a beautiful image jumped into Irina's mind.
The boy, somewhat fond of books, was sitting silently on the hospital bed, holding a thick book she had never seen before.
The boy noticed she was awake and smiled at her, his dark red eyes looking at her profile with tenderness.
"Don't worry, I'm here," the boy's gentle but firm voice seemed to sound again in her ears.
Warm, happy emotions filled her chest in an instant, and an endless stream of silver-white light burst from the tip of her wand and merged with the large silver-white cocoon.
Immediately after, the large silver-white cocoon exploded and dissipated, revealing the physical Patronus that had already formed within.
It was a small silver-white fox. It appeared a bit shy with strangers. It carefully looked around, then gently approached Irina's feet, rubbed her calves, and purred in a comfortable voice.
"Congratulations, Irina!" Lynn clapped with a smile on his face.
He wasn't surprised that Irina could release her physical Patronus in one go. After all, she had already done so before.
Moreover, he never thought that Irina's talent would be weaker than his own.
"Thank you, Lynn." Irina's ice-blue eyes seemed to shimmer with water.
She understood that her ability to perfectly release the physical Patronus was absolutely inseparable from the boy in front of her.
Lynn smiled faintly and said, "No need to thank me, this is all your own effort. Now that you've learned the Patronus Charm, let's start getting in touch with dark magic, right?"
Hearing this, Irina's eyes lit up, and she nodded repeatedly.
Lynn turned around and walked toward the castle. His voice echoed, "Come with me. First, we need to learn the theoretical knowledge of dark magic and then begin practicing it."
Irina quickly followed him.
Lynn led Irina to the fourth floor of Rowle Castle, where all the books on dark magic were still kept.
Lynn sorted these dark magic books from smallest to largest, based on their threat and reaction against wizards, regardless of the difficulty in casting the spells, and then handed them to Irina.
Lynn hoped that Irina could learn dark magic step by step, starting with those that had fewer negative reactions to herself, instead of being hasty like before, learning everything she saw.
Naturally, Irina gladly accepted Lynn's arrangement.
These theoretical dark magic books weren't difficult. After all, most dark magic had a common characteristic, which was that it was powerful and easy to cast!
If these dark spells were more difficult to perform than white magic and their power weaker than white magic, then only fools would learn dark magic!
Isn't the reason that dark wizards advocate dark magic precisely because it allows them to obtain powerful power at a very low cost?
