The kings Avater

Chapter 11: FIRE AND FURY

The battle raged on as Everstay and Sparrow faced the towering Torrak. Everstay charged, his blade gleaming in the light of the sun, He swung his sword with precision, striking Torrak's massive, muscular leg. The blade connected, but the cut barely scratched the creature's thick, rune-covered skin. Torrak let out a guttural roar that shook the ground, its six crimson eyes narrowing in fury.

"Watch out!" Sparrow yelled as the Torrak raised one of its massive clawed feet to stomp on Everstay.

With unparalleled reflexes, Everstay leapt backward, narrowly avoiding the earth-shattering stomp. The impact created a crater in the dry, cracked ground. Torrak, frustrated by its miss, opened its serpentine mouth, and a stream of blue venom spewed forth with a sickening hiss.

Everstay's sharp instincts kicked in as he performed a stunning acrobatic flip, landing near Sparrow and immediately raising his shield to protect them both. The venom splattered against the shield, sizzling as it began to melt the metal at the point of contact. The crowd in the stadium collectively gasped, the tension palpable.

The commentator's voice boomed through the speakers, filled with excitement.

"Did you see that?! Torrak's venom is so corrosive it's melting through Everstay's shield! How much more can this team endure against this unstoppable beast?"

Sparrow, recovering from the shock of the venom's power, decided to strike. He nocked his arrow and aimed for Torrak's glowing red eyes. The arrow flew straight and true, but as it hit their target, it simply bounced off the creature's impenetrable hide. One falling miserably to the ground, and Torrak didn't even flinch.

"This monster is untouchable, Everstay!" Sparrow shouted, frustration etched across his face. He had faced countless beasts before, and a well-placed arrow to the eyes was usually the beginning of their downfall.

"There has to be something…" Everstay began, scanning the creature for weaknesses, but he was interrupted by a desperate yell.

"Uh… a little help here!" Grayworm's voice rang out, tinged with panic.

The crowd shifted their attention as one of the massive Level 9 trolls had seized Grayworm by the arm, lifting him off the ground. Grayworm's spear lay useless on the dirt a few feet away, knocked aside during the struggle.

Sparrow's frustration turned to anger as he rushed to Grayworm's aid. He loosed three arrows simultaneously, each aimed at the troll's weak points: its forehead, eyes, and the heart at the center of its chest. The arrows struck true, forcing the troll to release Grayworm with a pained roar. Sparrow then kicked Grayworm's spear up from the ground, and Grayworm caught it midair with practiced ease.

"Thanks buddy" Grayworm grinned before plunging his spear into the troll's heart. The creature let out one final, guttural groan before collapsing in a heap, its life force extinguished.

Meanwhile, Somi struggled against the Level 6 spider. The monstrous arachnid's eight legs moved with unnerving speed as it hissed and lunged, its venom dripping from razor-sharp fangs. Somi dodged its attacks expertly but was visibly tiring. The spider reared back, its abdomen swelling as it prepared to unleash its deadly web.

On the game interface, Ye Qiu noticed the impending attack and quickly warned, "Omega, your left!"

Omega had just dispatched the second Level 9 troll, his massive blade slicing through its neck in a decisive blow. Without hesitation, he turned and charged toward the spider. As the creature shot its web toward Somi, Omega's sword cleaved through the sticky threads, cutting them midair.

Then he joined Everstay in the fight against Torrak. Grayworm followed close behind, leaving Sparrow to assist Somi in finishing off the spider.

When Grayworm and Omega joined Everstay, their eyes widened as the mighty Torrak staggered back, screeching in pain while Everstay was unloading his gun at the beast.

"What the—? I thought Sparrow said this thing was untouchable!" Omega exclaimed, glancing at the towering creature in disbelief.

Everstay smirked, reloading with a practiced motion. "Well… not for this bullet," he said, his tone dripping with pride.

"yea yea brag all you want. Everstay and his 'magic bullet,'" Grayworm muttered under his breath.

Everstay just rolled his eyes , "We need to lure Torrak toward the crack! When the fire erupts, it should weaken it enough for us to finish it off." he said

"Not to worry about that one," Somi called from across the battlefield, her daggers flashing as she held the massive spider at bay. "The Torrak's already at the crack. Fire will erupt in five seconds."

Grayworm blinked at her. "You already calculated that?"

Somi rolled her eyes, sidestepping a venomous bite from the spider. "Why wouldn't I? It's basic timing."

Grayworm shook his head, amazed as always by her genius, though he muttered, "Calculating cracks now? Genius overkill."

He squinted at Torrak's massive body and noticed something. "Wait… guys, I think it's getting weaker. Look at the glowy stuff on its chest—they're glowing faintly now."

"You mean the runes?" Omega asked, his focus momentarily diverted.

Before they could investigate further, Somi yelled, her voice sharp with urgency. "Shield up! Now!"

She had kicked the massive spider backward toward the crack, and the ground beneath it began to rumble. The eruption came with an explosive force, fire and magma shooting upward and engulfing both the spider and the Torrak.

The heat was overwhelming, even from a distance. Everstay stumbled back, the sheer force of the explosion knocking him to the ground. His shield, already damaged by the Torrak's venom, melted completely under the fiery blast.

"Everstay!" the team shouted as they rushed to his side.

He brushed himself off as he stood up "There goes my shield," he muttered, his voice dry.

"How did that happen?" Somi asked, her expression worried. "The fire shouldn't have been strong enough to burn through it."

"It's because it already had an opening from the Torrak's ven—" Everstay began but was interrupted by Grayworm's sudden call out.

"umm... Guys? "

The team turned in horror to see the Torrak rising from the flames. But it was no longer the same beast.

The already massive creature had doubled in size, its towering form now casting an ominous shadow over the arena. Its once-dull hide now gleamed with molten cracks, as though its very skin was infused with magma. The glowing runes on its body pulsed like a heartbeat, illuminating the jagged spikes along its back and the twin, twisted horns crowning its head. It opened its maw, revealing rows of jagged, venom-dripping fangs.

The crowd gasped in unison, and the commentator's voice rang out:

"Ladies and gentlemen, this is unbelievable! The Torrak has transformed! It's bigger, stronger, and deadlier than ever! Can the Dragon Team survive this nightmare?"

In the comment section, messages poured in:

Flameking99: "Is that even legal? The Torrak just went God Mode."

Icephoneix: They're done for. No way they're beating that."

NightShadeV2: "They're still standing strong! These guys are true heroes! The fire should've burned them all, but their shields held! That's skill right there."

PandaPowers13 : "I know they're a great team, but that Torrak is just too powerful. Did anyone else see how it grew after the fire eruption? It's literally twice as big now. I hope they have a backup plan."

Shadowknightx chimed in "I think they need a better strategy. Why are they just standing around waiting for it to attack? Move, move!"

But DragonLordX countered quickly:

"You think they're just standing there? They're waiting for the right moment to strike! Everstay's probably baiting it. These guys know what they're doing."

Cyberspy: "Grayworm was right! The runes are its weak spot! Aim for the runes, guys!"

Ye Qiu, hunched over his computer, read the comment and adjusted his strategy. "Alright," he muttered, squinting at his screen. "Focus on the runes."

But the Torrak wasn't giving them a chance. It let out a furious roar and unleashed a massive wave of fire.

"Shields!" Somi shouted again.

Omega, Somi, Sparrow, and Grayworm surrounded Everstay, raising their shields in unison. The fire slammed against their protective barrier, the heat so intense that even the reinforced shields began to glow red. Everstay crouched in the center, barely protected.

The crowd erupted into applause, impressed by their teamwork. The commentator chimed in:

"Incredible! The Dragon Team is showing exceptional coordination, shielding their leader from Torrak's fiery wrath! This is what true teamwork looks like, folks!"

As the fire subsided, the team regrouped. Their shields were battered, their energy waning, but their resolve was unshaken.

"We're not done yet," Everstay said, determination burning in his eyes.

The commentator's voice echoed across the arena, setting the stage for the next phase of the fight:

"Will the Dragon Team rise to the challenge and take down this monstrous Torrak? Or has their luck finally run out? Stay tuned as the battle rages on!"

Mean while Ye Qiu Who was having fun with his game had no idea that his phone was ringing, he had 17 missed calls and 8 messages from his girlfriend Stacy.
