The Licentious Cultivator

Chapter 319: Chapter 318: Steeled Determination

Southern Border, A nameless mountain

The mountain range was desolate and had sparsely distributed mountains. There was a large river that flowed through the valleys and the sand was white like small crystals. Two crabs basked in the sandy shore of the river when space suddenly shimmered around them.

"Krr, krrr, krr"

The crabs made sharp screeching sounds and quickly shuffled away to some rocks that were close by. At the same time, space shimmered to reveal two men.

The first man was the most conspicuous. He was incredibly tall and his skin was as dark as ink. Darker patterns designed his limbs and neck and a pair of grand wings made entirely of black feathers folded behind him. His gaze was solemn like he had seen all the vicissitudes of life.

The other man was shorter. His skin was fair and he had short dark hair with blue pupils like gemstone. His facial hair was simple and his gaze was sharp and complex as if he was trying to absorb all he saw into his eyes. Like the other man, he also had intricate patterns that designed his limbs and neck.

The two men had great personalities. The first man was Gordon, an avatar of Reverend Divine Prime Jade and the other was Alaka'i, the current progenitor of karma path!

Alaka'i's gaze shifted around before turning to face Gordon: "What is the matter that you had to take the chance of inheriting the time path true inheritance of Reverend Divine Prime Jade?"

Speaking of the time path true inheritance, Alaka'i was deeply perplexed. He knew that chances like that were usually once in a lifetime and were considered as fortuitous encounters.

To someone like him that already had the assistance of Gordon, a great expert, it was an incredible chance to improve his battle strength. He did not expect to have been removed before even reaching the final stages of the inheritance.

Gordon only shook his head as he peered around. His gaze moved from the rushing river to the small birds that pecked fish out of the river. He saw the monkeys that lazily rested on the branches of the palm trees in the background and the red tailed fox that quietly stalked a foraging rabbit.

All around them, life was bustling.

"Do you not sense it?" Gordon finally spoke to Alaka'i. His tone suddenly became deep as his expression became serious. "The flow of karma is quickening"

Alaka'i's expression became perplexed as his gaze drooped. He had left Eastern Sea for a chance to accumulate karma path attainment and deepen his understanding of the Dao. Even so, he had gotten entangled in the race to obtain Reverend Divine Prime Jade's inheritance and had forgotten his true goal.

Till now, Alaka'i had made zero progress in his comprehension of karma path and all that he knew were the things Gordon had taught him.

Gordon noticed Alaka'i's expression and immediately understood: "It is only natural that you have not made progress in comprehending karma path. Unlike the other Dao of the world, there has been no karma path martial practitioner in all of history. This makes it far more difficult to comprehend the path"

"After all, every path is merely a fragment of the Heavenly Dao. The other paths have been researched for many eras and have become larger and much more bountiful than times before. Compared to them, karma path is only a tiny speck in the Heavenly Dao. Do not become frustrated, all your efforts will grow upon each other and become a grand mountain that will stand taller than your peers"

Gordon's words were simple and straightforward. He did not give any false hope to Alaka'i. As such, Alaka'i's perplexed expression dissipated without a trace as he gazed at Gordon.

"Thank you" Alaka'i nodded in appreciation.

"Think nothing much of it. I am merely performing the duty that has been given to me by my main body. Now, I must leave you to yourself. I have taught you all that I know and my duties are complete. It is up to you how far you can develop karma path" Gordon said as he used his methods.

Suddenly, the phantom of a large river formed around him before carrying him away. Within three breaths of time, the phantom of the river disappeared like nothing occurred.

Alaka'i shook his head before chuckling: "So much for a goodbye"

Without much thinking, he walked into the small forest with a determination steeled in his mind. The next time he stepped out, he must have increased his karma path attainment.
