The Married Life Of Immortals

Chapter 70: Drinking Buddies

Cyran and Bane took their first round, but the next four went by with very little conversation. They were both content to sip and listen to the music. Both men were feeling pretty relaxed, and a bit buzzed, but Cyran couldn't help but stare at Bane.

"You are so calm," Cyran muttered, but Bane gave him a confused look.

"Calm? Why wouldn't I be calm?"

"Your wife is upstairs with the woman that just claimed to love you," Cyran pointed out, and Bane laughed, and held his glass up to Kal.

"Better up there for now until they settle things. It will be a problem later if Lysia kills her."

"Are you really not bothered?"

"No. Should I be? Lysia will take care of it, and then I will hear all about it later. And hear about it I will! Drunk!" Bane laughed, and then downed another drink as Cyran put his head in his arms with a sigh.

"How do you manage it? My wife scares me," Cyran said, but Bane gave him a smile.

"That's the difference. You married a woman who scares you, and I love a woman who terrifies me, but it is worth it. Lysia may be a little rough around the edges, but boy is she cute! You all just see her as a monster, but I am a monster, making her my monster... Does that make any sense? More booze, Bullkeep!"

"Don't call me that, Shrimp! I will get you more booze," Kal snorted, but was happy to pour out another round.

"Hard to believe that you two aren't even married yet," Cyran said with a shake of his head, but Bane snorted.

"I know, right? But just give the woman a day or two more, and she will have Bilgarth tying our knot! She already dragged me there to ask him!" Bane laughed, but then felt a cold presence behind him.

"Do you not want to marry me? Or has another woman come and changed your mind?"

Bane turned around to see a frowning and flushed Lysia with a smirking Harmony behind her. Rather than answering, Bane glared at Harmony. "What did you do to her?"

Harmony gave him an innocent expression. "I just gave her some alcohol to loosen her up some. You left her with me, so this is basically your fault. Though, it doesn't look like she can handle her alcohol very well, but I am sure you can deal with her, right?"

"I can handle my alcohol!" Lysia declared, and then plopped herself down next to Bane. She then cuddled into him cutely, shortly after proceeding to bite down on his arm. "You are mine, and no one else's, Bane! I will fight them all if they try to take you away from me, Bane, and then you will see, and then, you will be mine!"

Bane whipped his head around to glare at Harmony, but the woman had vanished like smoke. He wanted to go looking for her, but the warm arms of a drunken elf were wrapped around him, and the bite was slowly getting deeper, threatening to break the skin.

"Lysia, let go. I can't feel my fingers," Bane said, and gently tugged his arm, but then she released him with a huff, and started to eat a bowl of mixed nuts.

"Hah! I can out drink you! I can out drink anyone!" Lysia laughed, and then ate more of the nuts before shouting to Kal for a drink.

Bane looked over to see Cyran, but that one had also vanished like a ghost.

"Well, isn't this a mess," Bane said and then leaned back, and then felt a pair of lips pressed against his cheek, but when he looked, Lysia was eating the nuts and drinking a beer, ignoring him, but her face was redder than normal, past the alcohol flush. Bane did not like where this was going.

Sure the idea of Lysia getting drunk and acting sweet to him was nice, but alcohol had a way of loosening peoples inhabitations and bodies, and she would not hesitate to tell him off when she was sober. He wanted the lovey dovey part, but not the angry hangover version of Lysia.

"Come on, let's get you home," Bane said and grabbed Lysia's hand, but she snatched it back, and glared at him.

"Let go of me! I am not finished eating! And I haven't even had my drink yet!" She protested, but Bane put his arms around her, and then hoisted her up into a princess carry. "Put me down! I want to drink more!"

Bane looked back at Kal. "Throw me a bottle of something good, and I will make it up to you," Bane called back, and the minotaur nodded, reaching to the shelf behind him and grabbing a bottle, which Bane caught with his free hand. "Thanks, buddy."

"Put me down!" Lysia said again, and she started to wiggle, but Bane held her tighter, and gave her a look.

"No."

"What do you mean no? Did you not hear me?" Lysia demanded, pounding on his chest lightly as he carried her out of The Fiery Dragon.

"Oh I heard your words, I am just not listening to them. If you want to have a drink, let's go home and do it. That way if we act foolish," Bane said, giving Lysia a meaningful look as he walked. "We won't be the laughing stock of the village, and I can take advantage of you."

"Take advantage of me?!" Lysia shrieked, and her fist came out swinging, but Bane dodged the first one, and the second one, but the third one hit him right in the temple.

"I was just joking around! Why do you always have to be so damn violent? You have no idea how hard it is to be a man. We always have to play nice, and keep our cool, but if we so much as look at a woman the wrong way, everyone acts like we are the devil," Bane complained as he rubbed his head.

"You act nice? I suppose pigs fly as well? Do you really need to carry me like this? I can walk on my own!" Lysia insisted, but Bane shook his head.

"No, I prefer this way. You are far less likely to use offensive magic on me when we are this close, and you look beautiful in my arms under the moonlight," Bane said and gave her a wink, but Lysia just glared at him.

"Stop playing stupid games and put me down! If you don't, I swear I will-"

Before Lysia could finish her sentence, Bane jumped up in the air, and into their second floor window that was wide open. The force of the jump knocked the air from Lysia's lungs, and her eyes were spinning as she tried to sit up, but the world was still spinning.

"Why did you do that?"

"I sensed violence coming from you, and look! We are home," Bane said, and sat her down on the bed.

Lysia ripped the bottle from his hand, and took the top off it before starting to guzzle the hard alcohol done like it was water. Bane watched for only a moment before his brain caught up with his eyes and he snatched the bottle away from her, but the damage was clearly done.

"What has gotten into you? You were already tipsy before this, and now you are drinking hard liquor straight from the bottle! Are you trying to kill yourself?" Bane asked, and Lysia just turned and stared at him, her face heating up.

"Nothing," she finally said, and reached for the bottle, but Bane kept it out of her reach. "Fine, this should be enough anyways. Stupid man is always trying to look at my body. You want to see what is under this dress?"

Yes, Bane did, but not like this. Alarm bells were going off in his head right now, but another part of him was trying to stand up and cheer. Lysia stood up, and started to undo the straps on her dress, and Bane could only stare as more of her creamy skin was revealed.

"Lysia, please stop," Bane pleaded, and closed his eyes. "This is wrong, and you will murder me in the morning for anything you try to do with me tonight! Dammit! Stop making this so damn hard!"

Bane didn't know whether to laugh or cry as Lysia's body pressed into him, and her hot breath washed over his neck.

"Come on, you know you want it. I saw you looking at me all day, and I still remember your hands on me this morning. You liked the feeling, and you know you can't resist."

"No, no I can't," Bane groaned, and felt Lysia's hands tugging at the buttons of his shirt, but he knew that he had to stop. "Wait!"

"What?" Lysia asked, and then kissed Bane, biting his lip after, making his head swim.

'Just where the hell did this side of her come from?!' Bane screamed internationally. Every part of him screamed to take advantage of this, but this would not be their first time. It wasn't right, and Bane knew it, so he had to think of a plan to avert this catastrophe waiting to happen.

"Do you trust me?"

"Of course," Lysia replied, and then her hand slipped down to his crotch, and squeezed.

Bane's brain almost exploded as he pulled back, and put a hand to her head. "I am sorry," He whispered, and then sucked her body dry of mana, causing Lysia to pass out. Bane gently caught her in his arms, letting out a relieved sigh. "I really hope that she forgets all of this. I can only think of ways that this could be construed in the wrong way, but that is a tomorrow problem.

Bane carried Lysia to the bed, and got her tucked in before taking the remainder of the bottle with him as he sat in the window sill. He put the bottle to his mouth and took a long drink, and looked out over the darkening village, and then up at the quarter moon in the sky. A lot had happened since he had arrived in this world, but it had all been worth it.

Talking another drink, Bane looked over at the beautiful sleeping elf, smiling. Rough around the edges was what you would call a tiger, but Lysia was much worse than that, but he also loved that about her. She was wild, and untamed, and it had brought a fire into his life that had been lacking.

"If this is a dream, I never want to wake up," Bane muttered, and took another drink before getting out of the window, stripping down, and getting into bed.
