The Married Life Of Immortals

Chapter 69: Drinking Brothers in Arms

"I was hoping to see a reaction out of one of you, but this has just been boring. I am leaving now," Harmony said and tried to walk off, but Bane grabbed her wrist, and then pointed at her plate.

"Go sit down. I am sure you had fun trying to stir shit up with my woman, but now you and her can get to know each other. Cyran and I are going to get a drink," Bane said, and Lysia grabbed him by his ear. Bane didn't budge, but he did look at her. "What? Couldn't just tap my shoulder or clear your throat? And you wonder why I need a drink?"

"This is not the time to joke! You are not leaving me here alone with this woman!" Lysia hissed, but then Bane smiled at her and patted her hand.

"She is your guest, not mine, according to you. Rolf can attest, right buddy?" Bane asked, but the burly waiter that had by their table only moments ago was not nowhere to be seen. "I see, smart man. Anyways, ready to blow this popsicle stand, Cyran?"

"You have an odd way of speaking, but it seems this will be an enjoyable night," Cyran laughed, and the two leapt out of the booth, heading for the stairs.

Harmony stayed behind and looked at the table that only had Lysia sitting there with a very irritated expression. "So, do you still love him?"

"What does it matter to you, bitch?!" Lysia snapped, and Harmony rolled her eyes.

"You have such a vulgar tongue."

"And you have a knack for putting your nose in places it doesn't belong! Bane is mine!" Lysia hissed back, and Harmony grinned.

"We'll see," she said, and then sat down and started eating again.

"What do you think you are doing?" Lysia growled, but Harmony just continued to eat.

"Well, the meal is delicious, and I am hungry, so I thought I would have dinner. Your husband also gave me an order after grabbing my wrist so forcefully! I don’t think I will wash the spot for a month so I can savor the contact as it was!"

"I will not stand for this!" Lysia hissed, about to climb onto her seat.

"Then sit. Bane will not be very happy if we ruin the place, and I have been spending a lot of time alone lately," Harmony said, and Lysia's eyes went wide, and her jaw dropped in mock shock.

"Wait? Did you get tired of touching yourself and decided to present yourself to the public?" Lysia gasped, but Harmony ignored her.

Down below, Bane and Cyran were heading to the main area where a band was playing and people were dancing, but they were stopped just outside of the kitchen.

"Cyran? Where have you been hiding?" A pretty woman with red curly hair and a chef's apron called over, making the Manager freeze. "Yes, your wife is asking you a question because you were supposed to be down here helping me with the dinner rush! How many times do I have to-"

Cyran put up his hand. "This is Lysia's life partner, Bane. I was entertaining him and Lysia, but now he has asked me to join him at the bar."

There was a long pause, but then Cyran's wife pointed a knife at him. "You get a pass this time, but only because it is Lady Lysia! You had better help with cleaning up after, or so help you."

"I'll help, but we are having a few drinks, so maybe later," Bane said with a wink, and Cyran's wife laughed and gave a nod.

"You seem like a nice boy, so don't get my good for nothing husband in too much trouble," the woman said, and Bane bowed, then pulled Cyran away laughing.

Once they made it to the bar, both men let out sighs as they sat down, but then Bane grinned at Cyran. "Nice to see that I am not the only person around here that leads a normal married life, even if we haven't fully tied the knot!"

Cyran gave Bane a sideways look as he put up a hand to signal the bartender, who, from what Bane could see, was a burley bull man with big horns and dark brown skin. "How do you always seem so calm? There were more than fifteen times that I thought Lysia was going to kill you, but you just either ignored her, or expertly defused her! If I tried to do that with Persephone, waking up in a body cast would be my best case scenario!"

Bane ignored Cyran as he stared at the bull man that was staring back at him. The two were just staring at each other, and Cyran noticed, waving a hand between them.

"This is Bane, Kal, a minotaur. He has also been the bartender at my place since it opened."

Bane frowned. "But isn't that a monster? Like a creature from a dungeon?"

The minotaur put his massive head closer to Bane. "Do I look like a monster?"

Ban rolled his eyes. "Don't ask me questions you want me to lie about."

"You want to go, punk?" Kal growled in a deep voice, but Bane shook his head.

"Does this look like a training hall? I want a damn drink, Mr. Kal Bell!"

Kal turned to his manager, but Cyran could only give him a placating look. "Sorry, he is a bit rough around the edges. This one is Lysia's husband-to-be."

At the mention of Lysia's name, Kal flinched back and looked at Bane with shock and a sudden newfound respect.

Cyran nodded at Kal's reaction. "It is perplexing to watch the two of them. I almost lost my life earlier trying to get in between them, and then next minute, she was nearly purring in his arms! I could only dream of handling my wife like that! I need a drink."

"Make that two of whatever he is having, and then something that will put some hair on my chest, Bull Man!" Bane cheered.
