Chapter 72: The Mortal Curse
Bane strode out of the bathroom with no clothes on, and saw that Ezio was facing away from him. He turned around to face Bane, but then frowned. "Why aren't you dressed?"
"Because I just got out of the shower, dumbass. What the hell are you doing in my room? I don't remember inviting you in," Bane growled as he walked over to a wardrobe to start getting dressed.
Suddenly, Bane heard a scream of rage coming from the bathroom as he pulled his underwear on. Turning to scowl at Ezio, Bane said, "I suggest that you go wait outside until I am done. You are lucky that I am in a good mood this morning."
Ezio didn't need to be told twice, and vacated the room. Bane let out a sigh, pulling on his pants and grabbing a shirt before heading back into the bathroom. Inside, he found Lysia staring at her hands.
"What is wrong?" I asked, and she glared at me.
"That witch cursed me! My head was such a mess this morning that I didn't even try to heal myself, but it wouldn't have mattered! That witch put the Curse of Mortality on me!" Lysia raged from the bathtub, but then her eyes bulged, and she put a hand to her mouth. Before she could say more, Lysia had half her body out of the tub and leaning over the edge as she wretched into the toilet.
Bane stood there stunned, but quickly came out of it and went to help Lysia hold her hair back, and then flushed the toilet when she was done.
"What do you want me to do to her? Kill her? Torture? Drag her back here?" Bane asked, and Lysia turned her head to him.
"She can't be killed, not easily. The curse can't be broken unless she chooses to release it," Lysia said in a haggard voice as she slid back into the tub.
Bane nodded. "Fine. I will drag her back here and make her undo the curse."
"You think she will release it that easily?" Lysia retorted. "The only way to make her lift it would be for me to be her slave for the rest of my life, or to give you up to her."
Bane rolled his eyes. "I am pretty convincing when I want to be. I also pick who I wish to be with, even if that person thinks she is making all the choices."
Before Lysia could say anything else, Bane closed the bathroom door, and headed out of his room to find Ezio, who was waiting for him.
"Ready to go see her?" Ezio asked in purple bandages that Bane only just noticed.
"Oh yeah, I am ready," Bane said, cracking his knuckles. "It is clear that I wasn't very clear the last time Harmony and I talked alone. Looks like it is time to make myself crystal clear."
Ezio didn't like the look on Bane's face, but it was only his job to get him to his destination, and then Harmony would leave him and Morgana alone. While he didn't like feeding his new friend to the wolf, Ezio was sure that Bane could take care of himself.
"Well, shall we?" Bane asked, and then strode down the stairs and out of the training hall, ignoring all of the people that were walking in and out of the place.
Once outside, Bane took a deep breath, and then started off towards the edge of the village with a purpose. Once the two men reached the dilapidated house, Bane kept walking, heading out and away from the village to the nearby forest.
"Where are you going?!" Ezio demanded, but Bane ignored him.
Ezio was sure now that Bane was going to escape into the forest, but the black haired man headed over to a massive rock that was sticking out of the ground. The thing was massive, over thirteen feet tall and just as wide, but Ezio couldn't figure out what Bane planned on doing with it. Then Ezio's eyes nearly popped out of their sockets as Bane grabbed the rock with both hands like he was hugging it, and pulled it out of the ground.
"I have no idea what is going on!" Ezio muttered, but then Bane lifted the boulder high above his head, and threw it.
It was as if the boulder was a stone shot out of a catapult. Ezio watched in horror as it arched in the air, only to come back down like a comet, directly at Harmony's run down house. At the same time, said house owner, Harmony walked out of her house with a frown. She looked over at Bane and then Ezio, but then the massive rock hit her house. The impact sent Harmony flying, and turned her house into matchsticks.
Bane nodded at this, and walked over to Ezio without a word, and then grabbed what he assumed to be the end of the assassin's bandages, and pulled with great force. Ezio's became a blur as he was spun until his entire chest and midsection was revealed. Without a word, Bane walked over to the dazed Harmony, and rolled her onto her stomach with one foot.
"What... What do you think you are... Unhand me!"
Bane ignored her, and proceeded to hog tie her without saying a word. The entire time Harmony screamed for help, but Bane ignored her until he was done. When he was finished, Bane picked the woman off the ground and put her on his shoulders like a sack of potatoes. He turned to Ezio, pointed at his midsection and swirled his finger.
"Sorry about all that. I will make it up to you by making sure that this one doesn't cause you and your woman any more problems," Bane said, and the color drained from Ezio's face.
"You aren't going to kill her... Are you?" Ezio asked slowly, but Bane snorted.
"Kill? No, she is going to remove the curse on Lysia, and then I will give her over to Lysia. A much worse fate than death, if you ask me," Bane smiled in a way that gave the assassin chills.
"Just be careful, she has the ability to-"
"To curse me? Make me feel unimaginable pain? I am sure that she has many ways to do nasty things, but she messed with my wife," Bane laughed, and then headed back into the village with Harmony still over his shoulders, screaming the whole time.
The people that Bane walked by all made sure to look in other directions, hiding their faces as Bane passed with the screaming Dark Priest. None of them wanted to make eye contact with the woman, lest they become her next target.
As Bane walked through the village, he made his way to the training building, up the stairs to his room and then dropped Harmony on the floor when he entered.
"Lysia, I brought your gift," Bane called, and Lysia came out of the bathroom with a haggard look that turned it into shock and surprise when she saw who was tied up on the floor.
