The Multiverse Hunter

Chapter 153: Chapter 153

"Behind you."

The Jedi Master whirled around just in time, her lightsaber clashing against Ali's with a sharp hiss of energy. The collision sent sparks flying in every direction, illuminating the shadowed forest for a fleeting moment.

She parried the blow, but Ali's follow-up was a swift, brutal kick aimed directly at the freshly closed wound at her side.

"UGH!"

The Jedi staggered back, clutching at her side as pain shot through her body, the wound reopening from the impact. Blood seeped through her robes, staining the fabric as her breathing grew ragged.

Ali didn't let up. "Try blocking this," he growled, his voice cold and unyielding. He pressed the attack, striking from multiple angles with both of his lightsabers. Each swing was a masterful combination of precision and raw, unrelenting power.

The Jedi Master fought valiantly, her green blade deflecting Ali's strikes with impeccable timing, but she was clearly being pushed back. The air around them sizzled with energy as red and green clashed, lighting up the forest in a dazzling yet deadly display.

BANG! BANG! BANG!

Each of Ali's strikes grew faster and heavier, the sheer force of his blows causing her knees to buckle. She gritted her teeth, summoning every ounce of her focus to maintain her defence.

'It's suffocating. Does he even get tired?' she thought, panic creeping into her mind as she struggled to withstand the onslaught.

But as the fight wore on, her realisation deepened—Ali wasn't tiring. If anything, he seemed to grow stronger, his strikes faster and had more wight behind them.

"You lost," Ali declared, his voice a chilling promise of finality.

His left eye turned completely black, the dark scaled up the left side of his face and pulsed ominously. The transformation amplified his strength even further, he dropped his second lightsaber, gripping the cross-guard hilt with both hands.

Ali brought the blade down with devastating force. The Jedi Master raised her lightsaber in a desperate bid to block, pouring every ounce of her Force strength into the defence.

The impact forced her down to one knee, the earth beneath her cracking under the sheer pressure.

"Force Lightning," Ali said, his voice laced with menace as he pointed his index finger at her.

Her eyes widened in horror, her heart skipping a beat as she realised what was coming.

CRACKLE! CRACKLE! CRACKLE!

A bolt of red lightning erupted from Ali's outstretched finger, slamming into the Jedi Master's body with an ear-splitting roar.

The energy coursed through her, setting her upper body ablaze and charring her battle robes to blackened tatters. Her nerves screamed in agony as her body convulsed uncontrollably.

Weakened and unable to resist, she could do little as Ali's lightsaber descended once more.

SLASH!

Her right arm fell to the ground, her green lightsaber clattering from her severed hand. The Jedi Master collapsed onto her side, her breathing shallow and laboured.

Her once-pristine figure was now a burned and bloodied shell, the agony etched onto her face a testament to her defeat.

Ali stood over her, his breathing calm despite the exertion of the battle. "That was fun," he admitted, his tone disturbingly nonchalant as he removed his mask.

The fresh air of Tartek filled his lungs, though the scent of charred flesh and scorched earth lingered heavily in the clearing.

He looked down at the defeated Jedi, her body trembling as she clung to the last shreds of her life. Ali took a step forward, intent on ending it, when a mechanical voice interrupted him.

"A secure channel has been sent to your comms, Jedi. Please send the data."

Ali's attention flicked to the source of the sound. The Jedi Master's severed arm, was equipped with her comms device, had somehow survived the battle.

The Jedi Master's remaining eye opened at the sound, her expression shifting to one of grim determination.

Summoning every ounce of strength left in her broken body, she began crawling toward the arm. Inch by agonising inch, she dragged herself across the bloodstained ground, her torn robes leaving streaks of red in her wake.

Ali watched, his head tilted in curiosity. 'Even now, she doesn't give up.' There was no pity in his gaze, only a faint flicker of respect for her resilience.

BANG!

A single gunshot echoed through the clearing, piercing the back of the Jedi Master's skull. Her body stilled instantly, collapsing onto the forest floor in a lifeless heap.

Ali lowered his desert eagle, stepping past her corpse to retrieve the severed arm. The comms device still strapped around the wrist displayed a wealth of data—coordinates, schematics, and details on the Empire's bases and transport lines on Kaelthar.

'The spies really outdid themselves,' Ali thought, a smirk tugging at his lips. He quickly transferred the information to his own device before composing a final message.

'I have been compromised. May the Force be with you.'

He sent the data to the Jedi Order, ensuring it appeared as though the Jedi Master had transmitted it in her final moments. Satisfied, Ali let the arm fall to the ground and turned his attention back to her body.

Kneeling, he stripped away her burned battle suit, revealing the green relic that hung around her neck. It pulsed with faint energy, the artifact damaged from his lightning but still intact.

Ali reached for it, his hand hovering over the glowing amulet.

VOOOM!

A pale, tattooed hand shot out from nowhere, grasping the relic just as Ali's fingers brushed against it. His midnight-coloured eyes snapped upward, meeting the cold, calculating gaze of the Witch of Dathomir, crouched mere inches away.

Before Ali could react, the Witch disappeared in a flash of green light, the amulet vanishing along with her.

But this time, Ali was quick to react. A sliver of his Force clung to her hand as it was whisked away.

'You're not getting away this time,' Ali thought, his lips curling into a predatory grin as he rose to his feet. Without hesitation, he sprinted after the Witch, his two lightsabers and the Jedi's green blade floating behind him before locking onto his belt.

The Witch reappeared in a secluded glade deep within the forest, hundreds of meters from the scorched battlefield. Her breath hitched as she glanced around, ensuring she was alone.

'Finally, I have it,' she thought, a triumphant smile gracing her lips. She clutched the amulet tightly, its green light casting eerie shadows on her flawless, pale skin.

Her thoughts flickered to the Sith she had left behind. 'That man… He's a monster. But with this, I'll ascend to a power he cannot even comprehend.'

Without hesitation, she slipped the amulet around her neck. The relic's surface flared with energy, unleashing a brilliant green light that enveloped her form.

Her attire transformed instantly, the ancient power of the artifact crafting a dark, intricate dress that exuded both elegance and danger. The fabric clung to her body, accentuating her striking figure, while the dark energy emanating from it magnified her connection to the spirits.

She felt invincible, her senses heightened to an unprecedented degree. But as she revelled in her newfound power, a chill ran down her spine.

'Danger.'

The spirits whispered warnings in her ear, their voices growing louder and more frantic. Her heart raced as she scanned the forest, her sharp eyes piercing the shadows for any sign of the threat.

It wasn't until she glanced at her own hand that she noticed the faint residue of the Sith's Force mark. Her lips curled into a snarl, and she quickly purged the mark, banishing it with a flick of her fingers.

Spreading her arms wide, the Witch commanded the nearby trees to do her bidding. Their ancient trunks groaned as they twisted and writhed under her influence, their branches slithering along the forest floor like serpents, seeking the danger that stalked her.

But in the shadows, a grandmaster assassin was stalking his prey.
