The Otherworldly Mercenary

Chapter 32: Ch 31 - Your Order

A month flashed by and the relationship between Seph and Virginia grew stronger and stronger.

The duo went on a few dates and enjoyed each other company.

Virginia also promised Seph that she would talk about him to her superiors and see if there was anything for him.

Seph had also dropped her off at her office a few times and met her colleagues...

"Uhmm..."

Seph slowly opened his eyes and stretched his muscles as he woke up. It was a little tiring to take care of the womanly needs of Virginia all night.

After he had actually enhanced her physique and turned her body into as strong and sturdy as a diamond, it would not only enhance her beauty but also make her resistant to most diseases.

With the result in her strength increment, her needs had also increased which tired him out.

Seph glanced at the empty bed and stood up before he walked out of the bedroom. The entire apartment was empty and Seph found Virginia's note on the dining table.

'Sorry, babe, gotta go... I do not want to disturb your sleep. Love you~'

Seph smiled lightly and put it down before he made some coffee for himself.

Brr Brr

While he was drinking his coffee, the phone that was lying on the table vibrated.

He picked it up and saw that someone was calling him in the morning.

Glancing at the caller ID, he picked it up.

"Hello, Miss Sofia. I hope you are calling me so early with some good news."

– "As you predicted, handsome~... I have found a beauty for you that you had asked me to look for."

A silky, playful voice purred through the phone, dripping with charm and mischief.

Sofia teased, her tone carrying the kind of allure that could make even the most stoic man falter.

On the other end of the line, Seph couldn't help but smirk. He recognized that voice—how could he not? The manager of the car showroom, Sofia, had a way of making even the simplest words sound like a sultry invitation.

Her voice a perfect blend of flirtation and gratitude. There was no hiding the affection layered within her teasing words, and Seph could practically feel her smile through the phone.

Who could blame her for being head over heels?

After all, Seph had appeared like a celestial being in her darkest hour, sweeping her from the abyss of despair in that hellish void. His presence had been otherworldly—chiseled features illuminated like some divine avenger, a calmness that seemed to defy mortal comprehension, and those eyes—oh, those eyes—that spoke of endless strength and unwavering purpose.

In her heart, he wasn't just a man; he was the man. The one who had brought her back from the edge, not with promises or empty reassurances, but with actions that felt like miracles.

"Seriously! You are not joking, right?" Seph asked, his voice filled with excitement.

– "How can I joke about it? Come to the showroom and pick it up. I will be waiting~..."

Smooch!

At the end of the call, Sofia even gave him a kiss from the other end of the call before disconnecting.

Seph could not help but smile embarrassingly at her teasing action.

He shook his head and went to the bathroom to take a shower to freshen up. He then draped an outfit over his naked self and stepped out of the apartment, locking it behind him.

Walking ahead in the hallway, he paused in front of Hela's apartment. He furrowed his brows, his feelings slightly complicated. He did not know how he should approach her after the incident a few days ago.

Knock Knock

Seph took a deep breath and raised his hand to knock on her door.

But even after waiting for a minute, he heard no reply at all.

He sighed again and shouted from the outside. "Hey, you cannot stay locked inside all day. Nor can you avoid me for your entire life... I am going outside, if you need anything then message me, okay?"

Seph then turned around and climbed down the stairs since he knew such matters required time and patience.

He had just reached the bus stand a few blocks away when his phone vibrated inside his pocket. He took it out and checked it. It was from Hela. She had asked him to buy some groceries for her.

He smiled lightly and put back his phone into his pocket before boarding the bus.

Taking a seat in the back, Seph stared outside, thinking about the events that led his situation with Hela to this point.

It happened ten days ago...

Seph was sitting on the couch in his apartment, passing time with some television when his phone rang. He raised his eyebrow and raised his hand.

The phone that was resting on the table a few feet away, flew toward him, pulled by an invisible force.

Seph grabbed it and glanced at the caller ID before picking it up excitedly.

"What happened, babe~? Missing me already!..."

– "Yep. I miss you very much but now, I call you to give you a great piece of news." Virginia's voice came from the other side.

Seph could feel her happiness and excitement from the fluctuations in her voice. He could not help but smile and say. "Wait, wait, wait... Let me guess. Do you perhaps get a promotion?"

– "..."

There was a moment of silence on the other side before he heard Virginia shouting angrily from the other side in an annoyed tone.

– "You!... That's cheating! You used your powers, right? There is no way!! How else do you get that? That's not fair!!"

Seph listened to her rants with a smile, finding it funny. After she had calmed down a little, he spoke.

"You are such a silly girl. Why do I need to use my powers to guess something so simple? You only go to your office and then from there, you return back to me. And with such a handsome boyfriend at your apartment, I don't think you will go find one outside. And even if you did, you would not call me to inform me about that so excitedly. After removing all other possibilities, you getting a promotion will be an obvious choice."

– "...Hmm... you're right. Sorry, I was just so excited." Virginia quickly apologized, her voice sounding a little embarrassed.

– "Anyway, you probably will never believe it but I was promoted from an administrative assistant directly to Mr. Stark's personal assistant."

"Personal Assisstant? Ah, you mean the Secretary."

Seph was not that familiar with all these positions in a company and replied. He was clearly happy with his girlfriend's progress.

Virginia was also aware of Seph's previous work and the environment he grew up in so she didn't berate him but patiently explained.

– "Actually, a PA and a Secretary are two totally different positions."

"Oh? How is that? I think they are the same."

– "Actually, A PA's work is broader than a secretary's, which is usually limited to office administration tasks. Also, a PA has a direct relationship with their superiors and is responsible for their needs, while a secretary doesn't have that direct relationship."

"Sorry, but I still don't get it." Seph smiled lightly and replied while scratching the side of his face.

– "In short terms, I have to accompany Mr. Stark and take care of his needs. And, I might even have to go to his place..."

When she said the last sentence, her voice was slightly low and she stopped, waiting for his reaction.
