The Otherworldly Mercenary

Chapter 33: Ch 32 - Heimdall

Seph digested her words and replied after a minute.

"Hmm... it seems you are going to be very busy, huh?"

– "..."

Seph waited for a few seconds but he only got silence from the other side of the call.

"Hello, babe~... are you there?"

He asked worriedly.

– "That's it." Virginia muttered, her voice filled with anger.

– "That's all you have to say. You... you..."

Virginia could not believe it. She thought Seph would be very jealous and curse at Tony Stark a few times but contrary to her thoughts, he was very calm as if it was very natural.

Seph also realized that something was wrong with Virginia and ge quickly asked.

"What happened? Are you alright?"

– "..."

Virginia was silent. She wanted to be angry but at the same time, she just couldn't not curse out at all. She took a deep breath to calm down herself and said.

– "Baby, are you really not jealous? I am going to spend so much time with my boss. What if I will fall in love with him?"

Seph heard her words and finally, it dawned on him why she was angry and sounded so weird. He smiled lightly and replied.

"Jealous? Of course, I am! If possible, I want to ask you to quit your job and stay at home with me..."

He paused for a moment.

– "Then..." Virginia said eagerly, wanting him to continue to hear his thoughts.

He continued, "But I know your job is very important to you. I also know how much trust is important in a relationship. If I cannot even trust you this much, then I would have never let you work anyway. So, I will not let my jealousy to get in between of your success."

Virginia who was on the other hand could not help but tremble when she heard his words. Her heart fluttered and skipped a beat as sweetness spread in all parts of her heart, as sweet as honey.

She carefully wiped the tears from the corner of her eye and grumbled happily.

– "You are such an annoying and dumb guy~!"

Seph laughed lightly at her words, aware that she was very happy. He then heard someone calling from behind before she said bye and cut off the call.

He shook his head and laughed. He then raised his head to look at the movie playing on the television but it was pretty boring so he decided to go out for a walk.

"Woof! Woof!..."

Before he could walk out, the puppy Alioth ran over and rubbed its head on his leg.

"You want to come along? Okay, let's go buddy~"

When he was passing by Hela's apartment, he stopped and decided to ask her if she was interested in going out with him.

Hela opened the door after a second and saw Seph standing in front of him. She quickly greeted him with her usual demeanor.

"Do you need anything, Sire?"

Seph looked at her and furrowed his brows since he could see that she had changed.

'She is... something must have happened or else... did staying on the Earth alongside humans have caused this change...'

He observed her from head to toe again before he asked.

"Are you alright? You seem... troubled. Do you miss your home?"

Hearing his words was like a trigger as it caused her expression to deteriorate. She glared at him and said angrily. "With all due respect, please don't try to peek into my mind!"

Hela moved her hand and tried to close the door but Seph raised his hand and grabbed it, preventing her from locking him outside.

Seph pushed her inside and closed the door behind him as he looked at Hela worriedly.

"Look, I don't like to peek into someone's life too but... you are one of my people and I am a little worried for you."

He stopped in front of her and looked straight into her eyes.

"Even if you don't want to believe it but you have changed from the first time I saw you. I don't know what brings this change but I think it's good for you. But there is something... something that's still bothering you."

He patted her shoulder and asked slowly. "Is it related to your father?"

"Stop!!" Hela shouted and raised her hand as a necrosword appeared on his palm, placed against Seph's neck.

Seph furrowed his brows and said lightly. "You still hate him, huh?"

"Hate? Hahaha... a thousand years! Do you know how long was thousand years? Living alone in that gloomy and deathly place! No! You have no fucking idea." Hela shouted indignantly.

Seph smiled and grabbed her hand as he said. "Then let's go and get you justice from your old man."

"What?!" Hela was dumbfounded by his words and looked at him in shock.

"Do you know what you are saying? He is one of the strongest gods. Do you think you..."

She had barely begun speaking about her father, about his unparalleled might, when she froze. The realization struck her like thunder in a silent storm—this wasn't someone who could be impressed by mere tales of godly exploits.

What was Odin's power compared to the man before her? What of the All-Father's dominion over Asgard, his mastery of the divine magics, his capacity to contend with Celestials, and his indomitable legend across the Nine Realms?

All of it paled in comparison. The figure standing before her wasn't simply a god; he was the legacy of one of the original Primordial Gods—those who existed when creation was an untamed sea of chaos and stars still yearned to be born. He wasn't a being who commanded power; he was power itself. If Odin could rival Celestials, this young man could obliterate their entire existence with a whim, unraveling the cosmic threads that held universes together.

His very presence seemed to distort reality, as if the cosmos bent slightly in deference, acknowledging a force that eclipsed them all. Compared to him, Odin was a flickering candle before an unending supernova—bright but tragically limited. This was a man who could challenge eternity itself and leave it wanting.

Seph took this chance and raised his hand as a portal opened in front of him. He pulled along Hela before he jumped into it.

On the other side, somewhere in the nine realms, a massive dome-like structure stood atop a rainbow-colored bridge.

It was called Bifrost!

The Bifrost was a dimensional energy that could be used to travel instantly between realms. It could also be used to destroy planets if the energy was concentrated enough.

Inside the dome-like building stood a big guy. He looked middle-aged and was black in skin color. He had long shoulder-length curly hair and was draped in armor. His armor was a gold metal chest plate that extended into shoulder guards over simple brown clothing. He also had a golden-horned helmet. He wore black pants, gold boots, and arm bracers.

The man was called Heimdall and possessed the Omni-Senses. His sight itself extends itself to all of the Nine Realms, and his hearing was so precise that he heard anyone talking not only in Asgard but even in the Nine Realms.

Because of these abilities, he was made the guardian and gatekeeper of the Asgard.

While Heimdall was guarding the Bifrost like always, he heard Seph's talk with Hela and he was instantly alerted.

But before he could react, a portal opened in front of him, defying all sorts of laws, and two Familia faces popped into his view.
