Chapter 45: Chapter 45
{I was sick for the past week, today is the only day I had the strength to do something other than sleep. The quality of things might be down for some time, but I have to power through if I don't want to drop this.
Thanks for the support}
"Now, it's time to create my Dao," I said, stepping into my mansion with purpose. I was ready to shatter my current Dao and rebuild it anew.
But as I entered, my steps faltered, my eyebrow-raising as Lan Mei appeared before me. Her arms were crossed, and a deep frown shadowed her face, her presence heavy with unspoken intent.
"What?" I asked with a frown, already sensing her displeasure. But for the life of me, I couldn't think of anything I had done wrong.
Lan Mei sighed softly, her expression a mix of exasperation and concern.
"Why do you tell others about your abilities, young master?" she asked, her tone calm but firm. "Not everyone is like you, seeking the thrill of a challenge or enjoying a good battle. Many cultivators have simple goals, to gain immortality and power, no matter the cost."
Her words struck a chord as she continued, "Now the world knows about Ultra Instincts, how it allows your body to move without the need for your mind. Some may have had trump cards designed to target your mind, but you've handed them that information freely. Do you see what I'm trying to say?"
I paused, her words sinking in. Honestly, adapting to the cultivation world wasn't easy. I had to get used to referring to myself in the third person, adopting the typical arrogance of a young master just to seem normal.
At one point, I even considered adding "mongrel" to my repertoire of arrogant phrases, which seemed fitting for the role.
"I will over..." I couldn't finish the sentence. Lan Mei's glare grew heavy, almost suffocating. For a brief moment, it felt like she might drag me over her knee and give me the beating of a lifetime.
"You would do what?" she snapped, her voice cold and sharp. "What do you know?"
She stepped closer, her words cutting like a blade. "When people out there can reverse time to uncover every last detail of your past, what would you do? When there are those who can see your past, your future, and even every infinite possibility you could take, what can you do?"
Her tone grew colder, more biting. "What will you do when they know everything before you even act? Tap into that berserk power to save yourself? Throw yourself into the mess you've created and hope for the best?"
"When people cut themselves off from the flow of time, allowing them to change the past without affecting themselves, what would you do?" Lan Mei's voice was cold and unwavering.
"What would you do when they travel back in time and strike you down in a weakened state? You'd overcome it?"
Her eyes bore into mine as she continued. "Young master, this small world and the entire lower realm are nothing to someone of your talent. But the Immortal Realm is different. There, beings like the Sword Dao Ancestor exist, beings who are the chess players of existence itself. They pull strings, manipulate the flow of fate, and shape entire realms to suit their goals."
Her tone sharpened further. "Make every move with the mindset that you're already facing their machinations, because one day, they will see your potential and want you dead at all costs."
I nodded slowly, her words sinking in.
The Dragon Ball world and this one were just too different. Back there, strength was everything, and no one cared if you shouted out your techniques or explained your abilities mid-fight.
Here, though? Things were different. I didn't like playing a more cautious role, it felt unnatural. But keeping my Dragon Ball mouth in check wasn't just wise, it was necessary.
Still, I couldn't help it sometimes. When I'm winning a match, the urge to explain my abilities just bubbles up uncontrollably. I mean, who doesn't want to bask in the glory of their own brilliance? It's not like the opponent could reverse the situation...
At least, not when I was Broly.
Sighing, I made my way to my room, the weight of Lan Mei's words lingering in my mind.
I fell back onto my bed, staring at the ceiling as thoughts of the future swirled in my head. There were so many possibilities, so many threats and abilities I couldn't even begin to predict. Of course, I couldn't think of everything, that would be impossible, but I could plan ahead.
Hiding trump cards, strategies, and abilities that could become critical down the road would be essential. If the Immortal Realm was as dangerous as Lan Mei made it sound, then every move from here on out needed to be calculated.
"What are the highest levels skipped?" I asked lightly, causing Lan Mei's eyebrow to raise. She clearly hadn't expected such a question and took a moment to think.
In the Immortal Realm, many geniuses capable of skipping levels existed. It wasn't unusual there, if anything, it was a hallmark of true talent. A Body Tempering Realm cultivator in the Immortal Realm would be drastically different from one in this small world. They would be many times stronger than those of this small world.
"The most levels ever skipped without the use of a Dao were… six realms and some extra levels," Lan Mei said with a helpless sigh, her expression betraying the faintest hint of reluctance. "They were at the Nascent Soul Realm… well, I can't say more."
In the past, she would have dismissed such a question outright, perhaps with a deflective remark or cold silence. But ever since I'd casually pieced together that she wasn't normal, and most likely an immortal, she'd been forced to bend a few rules.
"Oh? How many times stronger were they compared to the average person in that realm?" I asked, my curiosity piqued.
Lan Mei's expression turned thoughtful for a moment before she replied, "About… well, it's not something you can put a number on. Not even a trillion ants could destroy a planet, no matter how hard they tried. The same applies here. The Nascent Souls are the ants, and he's the planet."
Her gaze flicked back to me as she added, "But if you need a number, I'd say… above the trillions, maybe a quadrillion."
Her words made my eyebrow raise in intrigue. After all, energy output wasn't the same as raw power. Still, with some quick mental math, I pieced together just how vast the gap was.
Roughly 2.5 million times stronger.
That wasn't bad. A bit disappointing, honestly, I expected more.
Lan Mei's eyes narrowed slightly, her tone turning firm. "Young master… don't get cocky."
Her expression softened briefly, a glimmer of awe flickering in her gaze. "The person I speak of never revealed his full strength, not once. Judging by the glimpses of power he showed in his later years, it's clear he held back a lot during those days. He wasn't just strong, he was a true freak, the kind of genius that appears once in countless eras."
"How much do you think he held back by?" I asked, my tone bored, my expression indifferent.
Lan Mei's smirk deepened as she replied, "He had never shown even 1% of his true might."
Her voice grew sharper, carrying the weight of her memory. "Only when he revealed his true nature when he showed the world he was a dragon and transformed into one, was his strength finally made clear. That day, Dao Gods fell like insects before him. Gaps that should never have been crossed were bridged as though they were nothing, and the very common sense of the Immortal Realm was shattered forever."
My relaxed demeanor faded, replaced by a sharp focus as her words sank in. The smirk on her face widened slightly, clearly pleased by the reaction she'd drawn from me.
He was nearing a billion times stronger... no, I'd say he was a billion times stronger than the average person of the same level. That was beyond impressive, and it made me wonder.
Honestly, if I were just a Saiyan, I might have not been this guy's rival.
Why? Well, let's break down the Saiyan transformation power-ups, starting with the Great Ape Transformation. This form grants a 10-times boost in power, a massive increase by any measure.
But it doesn't stop there. A skilled Saiyan can take that Great Ape power and compress it into their base form, unlocking a state known as Ikari. This transformation removes the drawback of the Great Ape's large, unwieldy body, allowing the user to retain all the raw strength in a more controlled form.
Next comes Super Saiyan 1. This transformation grants a 50-times boost in power, a massive leap for any Saiyan. But that's not the end of it. Super Saiyan 1 has a total of four grades, with each refinement improving control and efficiency.
The pinnacle of these, Grade 4, also known as Mastered Super Saiyan, perfects the transformation. Once fully mastered, this state effectively doubles the original boost, increasing the multiplier from 50 to 100 times base power.
Then there's Super Saiyan 2. Many mistakenly assume this transformation offers only a 100-times increase in power, ignoring the advancements made through mastering Super Saiyan 1. In truth, Super Saiyan 2 provides a 200-times boost to one's power level.
Finally, we reach Super Saiyan 3. This transformation multiplies the power of Super Saiyan 2 by four, resulting in an 800-times boost to the Saiyan's base power level. It's an immense increase, though it comes with significant energy consumption as a drawback.
Now, this is where the Saiyan path splits. One road leads to Super Saiyan God and its associated transformations, while the other takes you to Super Saiyan 4.
Let's focus on the stronger transformation for now.
Super Saiyan God: This transformation was nothing short of extraordinary. Sure, the anime didn't fully do it justice, but when it first appeared, its power was undeniable. The battle between Super Saiyan God Goku and the God of Destruction, Beerus shook the very fabric of the universe.
And not just a single universe, a universe containing multiple dimensions, some equal to or even greater than an infinite universe.
Super Saiyan God provided an astonishing 50,000-times boost to one's power level, marking it as one of the most powerful Saiyan transformations.
Super Saiyan Blue: This form builds upon Super Saiyan God by layering the Super Saiyan transformation on top of God Ki. Its multiplier ranged from 2.5 million to 5 million, depending on the level of mastery. While immensely powerful, it required extreme precision and training to reach its peak potential.
On the other path lies Super Saiyan 4. Achieving this form required a mix of control over primal power and specific circumstances. Super Saiyan 4 granted a 10,000-times boost to one's power level, combining primal strength with incredible refinement. Its advanced state, Super Saiyan 4: Limit Breaker, held the potential to surpass even Super Saiyan Blue. In the hands of a true master, this form could amplify power levels by over 5 million times, making it a better transformation then the God Ki-based transformations.
