Chapter 46: Chapter 46
A billion times stronger than those of the same level... it was a staggering thought, but it was also a reminder that being a Saiyan alone wasn't going to be enough to take me far.
Sure, I could factor in Ultra Instinct, Ultra Ego, and countless other techniques, each capable of pushing my power level well past a billion by themselves. But none of that mattered right now.
No, those things weren't important at this moment.
Taking a deep breath, I focused on my Dao and, with a single thought, shattered it.
The backlash was immediate. Pain tore through me like a thousand needles piercing every inch of my body, and I coughed up a mouthful of blood. To anyone else, the agony would have been unbearable, but for me, it was nothing more than an inconvenience.
What was troublesome, however, was the damage left behind. My body was too heavy with injuries, leaving me staring at the inevitable outcome.
Back in a wheelchair again.
Anyway, I began forming the Dao of Absolute Combat.
I had spent a long time pondering what this Dao should represent, refining every aspect of my mind. First and foremost, I understood a fundamental truth, there was no such thing as "absolute" in this world.
So, my goal was clear: to shape my Dao as close to absolute as the laws of existence would allow.
So, why not build my Dao using all the Daos out there?
Fire, Water, Air, Lightning, Earth, Sun, Moon, Death, Creation, Life, Destruction, Snow, Ice, Swords, Spears, and countless more. To others, this might seem impossible. After all, comprehending even one Dao to a high level is a monumental task.
Now imagine comprehending them all.
On top of that, considering the sheer power my Dao would need to achieve, the scale of comprehension required would be astronomical. The strain could even hinder my future growth.
I wanted to walk a path different from the cultivators of this world.
As hard-working as I was, the thought of one day sitting back, spending millions of years just to comprehend a single concept, only to make little to no progress... it felt unbearably dull. That wasn't the life I wanted, no matter how powerful the result might be.
Absolute Combat. It's a Dao that wouldn't grow from mere comprehension, though understanding many Daos to a high enough level was a prerequisite to forming the Dao Seed. But once the Dao Seed was formed, the only way for this Dao to grow would be through battle.
I know, I couldn't help myself. Connecting my addiction to combat with my Dao might not be the smartest choice, but it felt inevitable.
Maybe this was a bad idea. But honestly? I didn't care.
Okay, so at what level did I need to comprehend the many Daos out there?
At the very least, I had to reach a level one grade above the Dao Saint realm. The higher my comprehension of each Dao, the stronger Absolute Combat would become.
But there was a tradeoff: the stronger my Dao started, the harder it would be for Absolute Combat to improve.
Well, this wasn't something that could be done quickly. Even with Fang Yan Rug, which boosted comprehension speed by five times, it still took me a shocking two days just to form a faint trace of this Dao. Without the rug? That would have been ten days.
Of course, my Dao wasn't complete yet, not even close. I wanted to make it as powerful as possible, pushing every limit to ensure it would stand as the strongest Dao.
"Master, a few guests from the tournament have come to see you. I've had them wait in the cultivation rooms," Fang Yan said calmly, his tone respectful as always.
Fang Yan used to be an old man, and his age was evident in every wrinkle and gray hair. But ever since coming under my service, his body had begun to regain its youth. Now, he looked as if he were in his 40s, a far cry from the man he once was.
Of course, Fang Yan was loyal. How could he not be? After realizing that Lan Mei was an Immortal and that I was the freakish offspring of one, his loyalty became absolute.
By the way, when I say small world, I'm referring to this small planet, not the lower realm as a whole.
Many mistakenly believe that cutting through the sky here would send them to the Immortal Realm, but that's not true. It would only take them out into the rest of the lower realm, which is essentially the universe.
To reach the Immortal Realm, one must cut through the sky of the entire lower realm, a feat far beyond the comprehension of most cultivators here.
"Go call them. This prince feels like he hasn't eaten in ages," I said, rubbing my stomach. God, I was starving.
To fix that, I had Lan Mei arrange for the Celestial Feast Pavilion to prepare for my arrival. And by that, I meant getting the puppets there to start cooking immediately, I wasn't in the mood to wait.
While Lan Mei went off to handle that, I resigned myself to the task of pushing myself into the washroom. I let out a heavy sigh. Why is it that every time I turn around, I end up back in this wheelchair? At this rate, I should start looking into some luxury upgrades, maybe gold rims or a throne cushion.
Anyway, after a much-needed bath that at least took the edge off, I got dressed and headed out to meet my guests. And, a shocker to absolutely no one, my visitors were quite the colorful bunch.
Qing Ying was as cold and composed as ever.
Ling Xue was the tiny bundle of hatred glaring at me, wishing to bite me.
The young man who turned out to be a demon, I really should've gotten his name last time, but hey, hindsight's 20/20
.And finally, Cherry, the belly-dancer-like seductress who radiated charm and danger in equal measure.
"Let's not talk here. I'm too hungry to speak," I said, waving them to follow me outside.
My carriage was already waiting, elegant and imposing, its presence commanding attention. Of course, Lan Mei had it prepared without me needing to say a word. She always anticipated my needs, which was one less thing for me to worry about.
"Why is it you're always in a wheelchair?" Ling Xue blurted out, unable to hold back her curiosity.
"I shattered my Dao," I said with a relaxed smile. "And since my Dao was most likely the most powerful thing in this world, the backlash caused damage of a quality that's going to take some time to heal."
"Oh, so you're weaker now?" Ling Xue's eyes lit up, a mischievous glint sparking to life.
I raised an eyebrow at her sudden enthusiasm as she leaned forward slightly, clearly seeing this as her chance for payback. That humiliation she'd endured before wasn't something she was about to let go of.
"Yeah… but to you, I might as well have stayed as strong," I said with a cocky smirk. "No matter how weak I get, I'll never reach a point where zero is my equal."
Ling Xue's face turned red with frustration, her teeth grinding audibly as her anger boiled over. She looked ready to lunge at me, fists clenched and trembling, but the young man, the one secretly a demon, stepped in, calmly placing a hand on her shoulder to hold her back.
"But your Dao was the strangest thing you had. Why are you so arrogant?" Qing Ying asked, her words sharp and direct. She knew she could afford to be blunt, I needed her, and we both understood that.
I chuckled lightly, unbothered by her tone. "There are more paths to power than just the Dao or cultivation," I replied with a smile. "Take martial arts, for example. By dedicating yourself entirely to martial arts, it's possible to one day face even the Immortals."
What I referred to, of course, was Ultra Instinct.
At its lowest level, Ultra Instinct Sign provided a boost equivalent to 300 million times one's power. Fully mastered, Ultra Instinct could surpass 1 billion times the strength of someone at the same level.
And that wasn't all. Ultra Ego was another rival to Ultra Instinct, a path that could bring unimaginable power, if one had the will to endure it.
"You speak like you can do it," Qing Ying said lightly, her tone skeptical.
I smirked, leaning back as my thoughts wandered. Honestly, introducing the concept of power levels into this world would make anyone below an Immortal seem laughable.
Back in the Dragon Ball world, I was born with a power level of 10,000. Even by their standards, that was extraordinary.
Here? My power level at birth was over 1 million before it was sealed away.
For comparison, with a power level of just 200, one could destroy the moon. By contrast, Nascent Soul realm experts here capped out at merely destroying mountains.
As a newborn in this world, if my power hadn't been sealed, the entire small world and the lower realm would have been nothing more than toys at my mercy to destroy... well, destroying the lower realm would have been impossible, it's a universe after all.
