The seeds we plant

Chapter 5: Chapter 4- The lightning gang arrived

Nath was picking flowers on the hill, her face reflecting a clear frustration.

- Just because she can cook a little she gets the attention of mom and dad.

She carefully picked the flowers they liked the most while making a bouquet with them.

- But this will surely impress them.

Wrapped in a cloth, several carefully cut flowers forming a bouquet were in her hands while Nath puffed out her chest with pride for the well-kept bouquet she had created. As she was getting ready to go home, a huge sound came from the village accompanied by a pillar of fire.

- Huh? I thought the festival was already over.

Nath approached the sound, drawn by her curiosity. When she got close enough, she was petrified by the scene. Several men in leather armor and swords were cornering people against a building that had started to burn.

- I told you not to dodge it stupid girl, look what you made me do!

One of the men with a fireball in his hand was furious as he looked down on a girl a little older than Nath.

- What the hell is going on here?

A man in silver armor came out of a nearby building, he carried a huge sword of the same color on his waist, the men with swords became nervous as they hid their swords. Nath's eyes lit up slightly thinking that the situation was under control.

- B-boss… you see that these villagers refused to give us supplies for our trip… and on top of that that rude girl stepped on my foot while I was negotiating with that man!

A clear surprise was shown on Nath's face at this development. The man in shining armor sighed as he looked at his subordinate, then brutally punched him in the face with enough force to knock him to the ground.

- How many times do I have to tell you the same thing? You are part of the hero group of this kingdom, the lightning gang. You are not simple bandits to treat the peasants like this!

The townspeople began to cheer the actions of the so-called lightning hero.

- Think about my reputation for a moment! Do you think the kingdom's image will be good if the hero group plunders its own people?

- B-but boss, these peasants refused to cooperate.

- Shut up.

A kick to the stomach knocked the man still on the ground and he rolled a little. The crowd was petrified by the hero's actions.

- Listen to me members of the thunder gang, we will do it again, but this will be the last time this gets out of control like this. The next time something like this happens I will kill whoever started it without hesitation, do you hear me?

- Yes sir!

The thunder hero's terrified men answered in unison as they turned their swords against the villagers again. The clearly confused villagers looked at the hero as if looking for some explanation. The hero realizing this began to speak.

- I'm really sorry, I know it might seem unfair, but it is necessary for the reputation of the Granest kingdom to remain intact... don't worry, I will report that you fought bravely against the minions of the beast witch and thanks to your help we were able to win the battle without many casualties, this town will definitely be remembered as a town full of heroes.

The peasants were even more confused at the lightning hero's words, some of them began to panic.

- So please give your lives for the sake of Granest.

- Wait a minute, you can't expect us to just accept that! We are a proud village of far-

- You talk too much.

A sword had pierced Uncle Javier's chest in the middle of his speech. A large amount of blood came out of his mouth before he collapsed to the ground. The other villagers screamed and begged as the men with swords rushed towards them. No one was spared from the carnage.

In no time a deathly silence spread through the street that was still decorated with flowers now stained with blood. The men began to enter the houses of the village, some extra screams painted the night a few moments later. When I turned my gaze from the scene Nath was petrified crying on the ground while clutching her knees, seeing the scene affected her more than I expected.

-I-I have to warn them.

Putting strength into her shaking knees, she stood up unsteadily and began to run uphill leaving behind the bouquet of flowers she was carrying.
