The Unrivaled Cosmic God

Chapter 8: The Vanquished Clan

Note: This is what happened to his clan in his past life and his reason for seeking power.

Inside a spacious room in one of the middle tier clans in the Green fire world; The Tang clan to be precise, a man paced from one corner to another while a handful of men stood, with their eyes fixated on their leader.

"Master, the soldiers from the council are coming…" the man spoke with worry and apprehension clearly visible in those deep blue eyes of his.

"And it seems that the nine Supremes are coming with them."

A loud gasp resonated through the room and as for the clan leader, his throat turned dry.

To them, the nine Supremes was just a devil in human skin…A group of Devil's infact.

Their insidious and heinous act had spread throughout the Green fire world and there was no one who could stop them…or even if there were, no one wanted to mess with the council behind them.

"The whole clan would be surrounded in a matter of time and be annihilated if we do not surrender the God saber to them. Perhaps, we should just give it…" the middle age man was speaking when another clansman's interrupted.

"Never…" a man from the crowd stomped his feet furiously on the ground, leaving a rain of dust in it's wake.

"...Don't you dare finish what you are saying or I might have to kill you before the soldiers of the council does. I did rather die than live to see anybody hand the God saber to the council" the clansman's face was filled with determination and the rest also agreed with him with a slight nod.

But the suggestion of the middle aged man didn't seem to be a bad idea also. The nine Supremes were all at the immortal cultivation plane and the strongest person in their clan which was the clan leader was only at the immortal ascension plane. Going against the council only meant one thing; Death.

Even at that, the members of the Tang clan refused to submit the weapon to the council. They saw the act of the council as a sign of profanity.

"But what I can't understand is what they hope to gain if they take the God saber from us. We all know and they also know that only the bloodline of a Tang can wield the God saber. So how do they intend to use it."

The God saber was the most powerful artifact in their clan… if not one of the most powerful artifacts in the world. It's power could only be harnessed by a Tang.

"Nevertheless, we shall not hand the God saber to those despicable bastards."

"Giving the God Saber to them is a disgrace to the clan, a shame to our ancestors and so, we shall fight to death to defend our dignity."

Fight to death, I say

We fight

Fight

Glory to the Tangs

This group of Tangs appeared to be hot blooded and even the fear of death couldn't gaze them.

They were truly men of valor.

The clan leader watched, his heart tightening due to the immense fear he felt for the clan but his eyes burned with unwavering determination.

As the leader, it was his duty to uphold the glory of the clan and that is what he intend to do.

He made a gesture to the agitated clansmen…men who were thirsty for war and ready to fight the council to the last breath.

"We all know who the Supremes are, even if we hand the God Saber to them, we are still doomed and so war is our only option. Our clan would be a history after today. Everything we once owned will be destroyed and our names would be forgotten for the sake of a weapon."

"It is no ordinary weapon…" someone screamed from the crowd.

"It is our heirloom. It is what the Tangs stand for."

"Our pride…and the pride of the Tangs must not be tainted."

The clan leader sighed. It is not easy to be a leader. He could only prepare for the destruction of the clan.

"Prepare for war" there is no going back now.

Yes…

And so, the men dispersed to prepare for the war…a war which they were bound to lose.

The clan leader called over the middle aged man.

"I want you to find a few promising children and smuggle them out of the clan. I want you to raise them and do whatever you can to ensure that they become powerful to restore the clan to it's glory in the future."

"Dong ye, you have served me well and I hope you will thrive alongside the children."

Dong ye fell on his knees and placed his head near the leader's feet.

"I Dong ye swear in the name of the heavens that I shall follow your command even after my death."

With that, he slit open his palm and allowed the blood to spill on the floor. The blood disappeared just before it touched the ground as though it had been sucked in by an invisible space and the dao promise was sealed.

A dao promise when made cannot be broken unless one had a death wish for the heavens made sure one kept his words.

A thankful expression rested on the leaders face.

"Hurry before the council soldiers arrive…and make sure your mission remains a secret."

Dong ye rose and bowed thrice before he left with his eyes coated with sorrow and determination.

The clan leader stood, lost in thought, waiting for the angels of destruction to arrive. Even when he knew today was the doomsday, there was nothing he could do. The lines on his face thickened and he was white with dread.

The door to the room creaked open and a small child walked in.

"papa…" the child spoke, pulling him away from his rampant thoughts.

The child was ten and he is the younger version of Tang Xi.

The leader turned abruptly when he heard the voice and a look of shock was clearly visible on his face.

"Did Dong ye not take you away?" This child of his was the most promising among all the children of the clan.

"Oh…I saw him abducting a group of children and I could guess his intention. So I hid out of sight."

Pah

Little Tang Xi received a slap that nearly made his head spin 180 degrees but all he did was to flinch.

The clan leader was furious but there was nothing he could do now. He could see the soldiers of the council through his spiritual perception. Sometimes, this child of his was really something else.

"Are we really going to war against the council?" Little Tang Xi asked.

His father nodded.

"Even I know that the battle is already lost."

His father sighed. The council was too terrifying.

The door to the room flew open and a panicked clansman rushed into the room.

"We have lost as the Supremes went all out by themselves."

The clan's leader paled instantly, anger and anguish burning in his eyes but he had expected this outcome…all of them did.

"Son, I want you to leave this village, flee from the council."

"You are the greatest prodigy of the clan and if you can survive, then the clan will live on."

Energy sparked in his palm before it coalesced into a bracelet.

"This would prevent anyone from finding you through spiritual perception and will mask your existence" he said as he placed it on the boys hand.

Picking him up, he threw him through to the other side of the window.

Boom…

Just then, the door was blown into shreds and nine figures walked into the room. Their auras was so terrifying that it could make one go crazy. Two soldiers walked behind them, pulling a woman who clung to her child.

It was his wife and last child.

The leader's face turned into a vicious scowl and killing intent surged through him.

Energy sparked in his hands, coalescing into a Sword and he activated the Tang's bloodline.

The bloodline of the Tang gave them a huge boost in the way of the sword and for this reason, most of them were sword users. Take Tang Xi for example, his talent with the sword was out of this universe.

Dashing forward, he swung his blade, displaying his cultivation technique.

The supreme in the front harrumphed. With a single swipe of his hand, a terrifying amount of Cosmo burst forth, destroying the leader's sword while throwing him against the wall.

The difference between them was like the chasm between heaven and earth.

The Supremes were too immersed in the moment and couldn't recognize the muffled crying of the child on the other side of the window.

The clan leader will was shattered by the blow, blood drenched his clothes and several bones were sticking out of his body.

"Vorgath, the little prodigy is not here" one of the supreme spoke.

"I have used my divine sense but I can't locate him. That child would be a headache if he survives."

Unknown to them, the little prodigy was less than fifty meters away from them.

"Look at you, all red with blood like a fowl. The God saber would become ours from now on" Vorgath scorned him.

The leader grinned. " No one can use the God saber unless it is a Tang. The God Saber would be a decorative treasure in your hands"

The smile on the faces of the Supremes intensified.

"You have such a small vision dear clan leader." Sera one of the Supremes spoke.

"We shall keep someone who would wield the God saber for the council alive."

"As if they would listen to you."

"Since the kid is not here, just watch the rest of your family die"

Sera slit the woman's throat together with the child. A sword formed in his hands and he raised it in the air with a small smile on his face.

"Your little prodigy would soon join you in hell, I would see to it."

Without sparing him another glance, Sera drove the blade into his body.

"Make sure the child is found."

A small whisper escaped their notice;

"I shall avenge you father."
