Chapter 124
The Villainous Noble Who Kept Rewinding After Death: The Story Somehow Changed When I Committed Suicide
Chapter 124: The End of the Journey
Around noon the next day. We had packed our belongings and were facing Cecil and the others for our final farewell.
“Eir-kun, thank you so much this time. Thanks to you all, this country has been saved. As a representative of the nation, I express my deepest gratitude.”
As Kaylee said this and bowed his head, Cecil and Pale also lowered their heads, expressing their gratitude to us.
“Don’t mention it. I just wanted to fight Hydra. Just think of the country being saved as a side benefit.”
“Ha ha. You’re steadfast until the end. Here, take this with you.”
With a wry smile, Kaylee pulled out a beautifully crafted brooch engraved with a crest from his pocket.
“What’s this?”
“It’s like a permission slip to enter this country. When you come back, just show this at the gate. That way, you’ll be treated with the utmost respect as my guest. Also, this symbolizes our royal pledge.”
“A pledge?”
“Yeah. We, the royal family, swear to help you with all our might whenever you’re in trouble, no matter what. This vow prioritizes helping you above all—even if it costs us our lives.”
“Hmm. That sounds heavy.”
“Ha ha. Just don’t think too deeply about it. It simply shows how grateful we are to you. Please accept it.”
“…I see. Understood.”
Sensing that Kaylee wasn’t going to retract his offer, I accepted the brooch and stored it away.
Then, Cecil stepped forward with a smile and spoke to me.
“Eir-san, please take good care of Shuvina. She can be a bit clumsy and scatterbrained, but she has real talent. So, I don’t think she’ll be too much trouble.”
“Mom, come on!”
Shuvina’s face turned red from embarrassment at her mother’s words, and she suddenly confronted Cecil with a loud voice.
“Well, given the circumstances, I’ll take care of her moderately. But it’s up to her after that.”
“Yes, that’s more than enough.”
“Well then, we should be going.”
As I said this and picked up the bag I had set on the ground, I looked towards Fiera and Shuvina.
“Alright. Take care, and please come again.”
“Thank you very much.”
Thus, we were seen off by Cecil and the others, exiting the country through the East Gate just as we had arrived, heading toward our next destination.
“Well then. Time to head back.”
Our next destination was my territory in the Empire, and afterwards, we would finally be heading to Suzette Imperial Academy.
“Hehe. I’m really looking forward to what’s going to happen next.”
While I felt curious about this completely transformed life of mine, the situation was unavoidably enjoyable in ways that were vastly different from the past.
Thus, I returned to the Valentine Duchy for the first time in nearly two years, preparing to head toward Suzette Imperial Academy.
~Side: Demon Race~
Time rewinds a little, at around the time Lewis and the others had just left the Magic Kingdom.
A man who had just returned from the royal castle of the Magic Kingdom to the Demon Realm, Imperial, tidied himself up before going to meet his master.
“Excuse me. It’s Wilhelm.”
“Come in.”
Wilhelm, as he introduced himself, was the man who had been by the king’s side in the Magic Kingdom, and the one Lewis let loose to uncover the identity of the mysterious power within him.
“I have returned.”
As Wilhelm entered the room, he found a man with short, red hair and tanned skin, possessing sharp, beast-like eyes, relaxing in a chair while holding a glass of wine.
“What’s the matter? You’re back earlier than planned.”
“I apologize. An unexpected situation arose.”
“Huh? What’s that?”
The man glared sharply at Wilhelm, and the atmosphere in the room instantly grew heavy. Even Wilhelm, who had been with this man for years, started to sweat nervously.
“Yes, well, I had received orders from Bagira-sama to execute a scheme to overthrow the royal family and destroy the descendants of the sage, but just as we were about to succeed, one human interfered.”
The moment Wilhelm finished his report, something whizzed by the side of his face, and the sound of glass shattering echoed from the door behind him.
“Hey, say that again. What did you just say?”
“A human… interrupted us, resulting in the failure of this operation.”
“Wait, what? You were obstructed by a mere human? What kind of joke is that?”
“I’m sorry. However, beyond that, we gained something.”
Though Wilhelm was sweating bullets from Bagira’s killing intent, he managed to continue his report.
“Actually, it seems that this human possesses a power similar to yours, Bagira-sama. I believe it’s that which has been vacant until now.”
“What? Is that true?”
Bagira, who had been in a foul mood earlier, suddenly lost interest in everything else and asked about the truth of Wilhelm’s statement.
“It’s true. As someone who has seen Bagira-sama’s power up close, I can’t be mistaken. It’s undoubtedly…”
“Ha ha. Ahahaha! Really? Have we finally found it? Kuhaha!”
Bagira burst into laughter, shaking his shoulders as he covered his face with his hand, eventually settling down to speak to Wilhelm.
“So? How did you see that human?”
“Depending on how we approach them, they might side with us. They showed no mercy even to the king of the Magic Kingdom and seemed uninterested in their fellow humans.
Thus, it might be good to try recruiting them.
Also, it appears they haven’t mastered their abilities yet, showing some wastefulness in how they manage their power.”
“I see. They sound quite interesting.”
“What will you do?”
“Well…”
Bagira pondered with his arms crossed, then opened his eyes to give orders to Wilhelm.
“For now, leave them be. Let’s observe a bit longer. Wilhelm.”
“Yes, sir!”
“I’m assigning you your next mission. Watch that human. Discover their personality, strength, weaknesses, and any information that could be used for negotiations.”
“Understood. But what should I do if I get caught?”
“In that case, abandon the mission and come back. Information is more valuable than your life.”
“Understood.”
Wilhelm said this and bowed before exiting the room, leaving behind a grinning Bagira.
“This is going to be fun.”
The operation that Wilhelm had been entrusted with was to use the citizens of the Magic Kingdom, who had a high number of magicians, as sacrifices to resurrect the Demon King, starting first by eliminating the descendants of the original sage, using the king to carry out that plan.
However, this plan ended in failure due to Lewis’s appearance; yet, for the demon race, there was something far greater to be gained.
At that moment, Bagira felt exhilarated that they had finally discovered the last one everyone in the demon race had been eagerly awaiting, predicting the future that was soon to come, and he happily savored the wine in his new glass.
~Side: ???~
Inside a completely empty white room, there was an entity observing Lewis’s actions.
“Hmmm? Something feels off. Lewis-kun just defeated Hydra? And the Elf Kingdom didn’t perish either, huh?”
Floating in that empty space, it began to twirl around as if contemplating.
“Wait, didn’t something similar happen before? Could it be that someone did something to my Lewis-kun?”
While watching Lewis heading toward the Empire, it pondered various possibilities.
“Kyahaha!! Well, it’s fine! This is shaping up to be fun too, and I’m excited to see what kind of expressions Lewis-kun shows this time! Ah… I can’t wait to meet him!”
With a blissful expression like that of a lovesick maiden, it continued watching Lewis while casting a cold glare at Fiera and the others nearby.
“But girls really are a nuisance, huh? I need to do something about that. Lewis-kun should only have me!”
Deciding to eliminate Fiera and the others, it began preparations for that purpose.
Thus, amidst swirling aspirations and plots, the reunion of Lewis and the protagonist drew near.

With this, the adventure arc comes to an end.
Next, the academy arc will finally begin. At last, the protagonist will make their appearance.
But before that, as an interlude, I plan to write about the past of Lewis and introduce the characters, starting with the new arc afterwards.
I hope to give you a better understanding of Lewis’s past and endear you to the characters.
The plan is to write about the past with Iris from the first to the third round.
I’ll do my best to write something enjoyable, so I hope you’ll read it when it’s updated.
Thank you.
