The Villainous Noble Who Kept Rewinding After Death: The Story Somehow Changed When I Committed Suicide

Chapter 332: Recently Sweet

Five days after finishing the exploration of the gate-type dungeon.

We returned to the Imperial Capital around evening, following the same schedule as our trip there. Thanks to Olga’s consideration, we were dropped off in front of the academy, where we decided to part ways with her.

“Well then, Eir. Leave the rest of the reports to us and take a good rest.”

“I’ll take you up on that. And if you find out what rank the guild assigned to the dungeon, could you let me know?”

“Of course. I’ll send you a letter as soon as I find out, so make sure to reply properly next time.”

“Yeah.”

Olga made a subtle jab about the letters I sent while I was away that took ages to come back. After exchanging a few words with Fiera and the others, she hopped into the carriage and headed toward the guild.

“Well then. Should we head back too?”

“Yeah. My body’s sore from the long carriage ride.”

“I want to take a bath and feel refreshed. Iris did clean me up with magic, but I really just want to take a bath for the feeling of it.”

“Then I’ll go with you.”

“Sounds good. How about we all go together? Miria, want to join us?”

“No, I’m a servant of Lewis-sama, so I should use the servant-only facilities…”

“It’s fine! This academy has a lot of female students anyway, and there are also commoners. No one will notice if you blend in. Plus, I think it wouldn’t be so bad to do something like this once in a while. What do you say?”

“However…”

Miria, looking troubled by Iris’s words, turned to me, silently asking what she should do.

“Well, I don’t see why not. If anyone gives you trouble, I’ll talk to the principal about it. Besides, you’re hesitating, so you must have some interest, right? Just go for it.”

“Thank you very much.”

Normally, Miria, being my servant, could only use the servant-only bathing area, but as Iris said, since this academy has many female students, it wouldn’t be a big deal if she mixed in with them.

And with Iris and the others around, no one would dare complain, and if I cleared it with the principal, she’d definitely handle anything that came up later.

“Eir. See you tomorrow.”

“Yeah. Later.”

We parted just after passing through the academy gates to head towards our respective dorms. As I walked toward the dorm, I thought about taking a bath first.

“Hey, long time no see.”

“Oh, it’s you.”

When I reached the dorm, I found Kamael standing against the wall in front of my room. Noticing I was back, he waved to welcome me.

“What do you want?”

“That’s harsh. It’s been a while, and you’re too cold!”

“Hmph. Thanks to you, I had a miserable time. And you escaped before I could get my revenge!”

“Ahaha. That was just a little prank after you gave me that ridiculous name and made me do unreasonable tasks!”

“Because of that prank, I had a tough time afterwards!”

“Sorry, just doing my part to help you out.”

Kamael nonchalantly laughed and apologized, showing no remorse whatsoever.

“Ugh, whatever. So? What did you come for?”

“Right. I thought I’d come to collect my favor today.”

“Favor?”

“Don’t tell me you forgot? Remember how I used my precious summer vacation to help you? We said that after helping you, I’d earn myself a favor, right? I want that back now.”

“I see. So, that time has come?”

“Exactly. I’m grateful you understood quickly.”

As I suspected, it seemed that the time had come for Kamael to move forward with his wishes and request my help for it.

“Got it. Just let me know when the time is right. I’m good anytime.”

“Thanks. I’m looking forward to it.”

Kamael said that and turned his back to me as if to say his business was done, disappearing without a sound as if he had never been there.

“Looks like Kamael’s finally ready to make his move. Well, I expected it around this time anyway, but hearing it from him makes it even more exciting.”

Just thinking about what Kamael was planning made me feel giddy, and my heart raced with excitement after such a long time.

“Anyway, before that, I should take it easy today. I’m tired, even if not as much as Fiera.”

I murmured as I opened the door and went inside, washed off in the bath, then collapsed into bed, falling asleep just like that.

The next day.

Lately, it feels like I’ve been spending more time outside than in class at the academy.

I visited my classroom for the first time in a while.

“You’re being glared at pretty hard.”

“Seems like someone could kill with just a stare.”

“I wonder if blocking their view with my magic would help a bit. Or would it be quicker to just blind them?”

“Wouldn’t it be nicer if they just went bald?”

The ones glaring at us were Shudo, who was still giving me death glares, surrounded by an even more hostile Ride and his group.

“Fiera, your point is all personal grievances.”

“Can you blame me? That guy messed up Fiera’s hair and hasn’t apologized at all!”

“Honestly, it’s not just unmanly; it’s inhuman behavior.”

“Should I just rip it out for her? Although, I really don’t want to touch that.”

It’s been a while since the winter break ended, but it seems Shudo hasn’t apologized for messing with Fiera’s hair. He also seems to have forgotten about cutting her arm off.

Apparently, when he cut her arm, it was an accident, and I heard he passed out afterward, so Shudo probably thinks Fiera just cut her own hair.

“Well, I do think it’s pretty terrible that he hasn’t apologized, even if it was an accident. And I can’t believe no one around him has brought it up either.”

“Yeah, but I’m over it now. I got told it suits me, and I received some nice words. Plus, it’s definitely easier to move around now.”

“I see.”

Despite always spouting justice and equality, his actions are usually self-satisfied and self-righteous, occasionally lacking basic human decency.

It’s as if only words like justice and equality occupy his mind, and just watching him makes me feel sick.

“I’ve noticed this lately, Lewis. Have you gotten softer on Fiera?”

“I don’t think so…”

“Really? Since I’m always watching, it feels to me like you’ve been more concerned about her than before.”

“I think so too.”

“Fiera-san is lucky, but I’ll do my best not to lose.”

Even though I never intended it, it seems that Shuvina and the others see me as growing softer towards Fiera, and Iris has even declared she’ll give it her all.

“I wish Fiera would notice me more, too.”

“Don’t forget about me, either. Ever since our date that day, you’ve barely paid any attention to me.”

“What are you talking about? Anyway, look. Here comes that guy again.”

Ignoring Shuvina and Sonia’s complaints, I turned my attention back to the front, where Shudo, seemingly unsatisfied with just glaring, was walking toward us, flanked by more followers who looked more like fanatics than companions.

“Sigh. I just came back to the academy, and it’s already a hassle.”

I murmured quietly, glancing at Kamael, who was watching this situation with a smirk, and when our eyes met, he just flashed a grin that was annoyingly cheerful, mouthing “Don’t worry.”
