Chapter 365
The Villainous Noble Who Kept Rewinding After Death: The Story Somehow Changed When I Committed Suicide
Chapter 348: Moving
It had already been two years since I was picked up by Kamael, and I was about to turn eight.
During these two years, I learned a lot from everyone, and now I was working as a dishwasher with Kushana at a small eatery, earning a little bit of money.
Among all the things I learned in these two years, the most surprising was about Kamael, who seemed a bit absent-minded and turned out to be the illegitimate child of a noble. He was using his reading, writing, and calculation skills to work as a laborer in the commercial guild.
Also, Flora was skilled with her hands, taking care of Salyuel while sewing, Laurent stayed home during the day to protect Flora and the others, and Ryuug had been helping with civil engineering work for a while.
However, as children and orphans, the money we earned was not much, and with seven growing kids living together, we barely made it through each day.
One day, after finishing work, when Kushana and I returned home, we found two luxurious carriages we had never seen before parked outside.
“What’s that?”
“I don’t know. Let’s just check it out.”
“Okay.”
As Kushana and I cautiously entered the house, we saw Kamael and Ryuug, who had come home early, along with Flora and the others. Facing them was a noble-looking man we’d never met before.
“Is this everyone?”
“Yes, it is.”
The nobleman glanced at us and asked Kamael in a monotone voice for confirmation, to which Kamael returned a serious expression I had never seen before.
“Then let’s get straight to the point. I will take you all in to my Count House, so get into the carriage immediately.”
“Excuse me? What do you mean by that…?”
“There’s nothing more to explain. It is as I said. Or do you not understand my words?”
“No, I understand your words.”
“Then that’s good. Now get into the carriage immediately.”
“Uh, that’s not the point. What we don’t understand is why you are suddenly saying such things. Besides, although we can’t say we are doing well, we are managing to live. So, there’s no need for a noble like you to take us in.”
“Ah, I see. I understand now.”
The nobleman stroked his chin as if pondering something, then looked around the house and focused on us again, finally locking eyes with Kamael.
“Indeed, you seem to be managing well for children, but do you really think that can last forever?”
“What do you mean?”
“Don’t you understand? Do you think I found out about you living in this rundown place on the outskirts of town by chance?”
“No way…?”
“Seems you’ve realized. Someone has informed me about you. This means there are those in this town willing to sell you easily. And if it were a slave trader instead of me, do you think you’d really be safe?”
“Um…”
“Think carefully. Will you live in fear of being sold into slavery here, or will you come to me and live? Which option gives you a better chance of survival?”
“Can we discuss this together for a bit?”
“Very well.”
Kamael gathered us all together with a serious expression and spoke first about his thoughts.
“Everyone, I think we should accept what that noble said.”
“What!? Hey, Kamael! Are you serious about that!!”
“Yeah. I’m serious, Ryuug. But just hear me out first.”
“What’s there to talk about?”
“First, as that noble said earlier, if someone is indeed selling us out in town, it won’t be long before this place becomes dangerous.”
“Then we just need to move somewhere else.”
“Even if we do, do you think we can live the same way we do now? I was lucky to get this job, as were you, Ryuug, Kushana, and Ravi. The chances of getting hired again in a new place are slim, and there’s a real chance we’d just be sold to slave traders.”
“Maybe that’s true, but…”
“Also, I saw the brooch on that guy’s chest, and it bore the crest of the Albani Count House.”
“The Albani Count House? The one famous as the assassination family?”
“That’s right. Just like Flora said, it’s the infamous assassination family, the Albani Count House, and I’d bet that guy is the current head, Yorn Albani. If we turn down an offer from such a family, there’s a possibility we could end up dead right here.”
“So what you’re saying is that we don’t have any options from the start?”
Kamael nodded silently, and finally, we understood our situation. Even Ryuug, who had been opposing it, had nothing more to say.
“Then, is it okay if we accept this offer?”
“Tch. I guess that’s all we can do.”
“Well, it’s true. Besides, it might not be such a bad deal after all. The Albani Count House is notorious for being an assassination family, but they’ve been protecting the Empire for a long time as well. We might have to do some work, but we’d get more food and have a warm place to sleep.”
“Fine. I’ll follow you.”
“I’ll follow you too. Besides, I don’t want to be away from everyone, and Kamael is our leader.”
“I’ll follow Kamael this time too.”
“I’m good with that! If it means we can live better than now, that’s a win.”
“I’m fine with it too!”
“I’ll follow everyone!”
“Thank you. Then let’s all follow that guy.”
Thus, we decided to accept the Albani Count’s offer, and that same day we packed our things and rode in a carriage for the first time in our lives, heading towards the Albani Count House.
Three months flew by, and on this day, we were called by the Albani Count to have a meal together.
“How is life here for you all?”
“Thanks to your generosity, we are living comfortably.”
“That’s wonderful to hear.”
These three months had been more peaceful than we expected; we were treated almost like noble children. We not only had delicious meals, but we also got to buy things we liked, sleep in fluffy beds, and even study.
Moreover, we weren’t forced to work, and for the most part, we were free to live our lives.
“Today marks three months since your arrival, so I had the meal prepared more luxuriously than usual. Eat to your heart’s content.”
“Thank you for your thoughtfulness.”
The Albani Count might look frightening because of his stoic expressions and rigid speech, but he didn’t force us to work, he provided us food, allowed us to study, and most importantly, let us live freely.
However, that was precisely why I couldn’t trust him.
At first, I thought maybe he had picked us up out of kindness, and I was happy about living freely and getting things I wanted. But as time passed, doubt began to creep in.
Because when I thought about it carefully, it was impossible for a noble to take in orphans like us without a purpose. Besides, despite letting us live freely, I sometimes felt as if we were being watched from somewhere.
It didn’t seem like I was the only one who felt this way. While Kamael smiled and talked, I could sense his wariness towards the Albani Count, and that made it even harder for me to trust him.
“Well then, let’s eat.”
Even so, if we were truly being watched, escaping from here would be impossible, and I had no idea what would happen if I opposed the Albani Count House, renowned for assassinations. So, I ultimately had no choice but to follow the environment given to us.
While pondering all these thoughts, as I put the food in my mouth, I was suddenly overwhelmed by a tremendous drowsiness towards the end of the meal.
“Ugh…”
“What is… this?”
“Eve…ry…one…”
As I watched everyone else slump onto the table or floor, I too lost consciousness.

Congratulations! 4 Million PV Achieved!!!
So, even though it was yesterday, “The Villainous Noble Who Kept Rewinding After Death” has finally reached 4 million PV!
Thank you so much to all our readers who have been following along!
Now, while Lavienne’s flashback continues, I’d like to ask for your wishes: I would love to write a special episode to commemorate the 4 million PV achievement.
During the last 3 million PV event, I wrote about Lewis’s parents, but this time, I want to take suggestions from you all about which characters you’d like to see interact or learn about their past.
I’ll choose a character or pair, or perhaps a group story based on your comments to write as a commemorative episode.
Please note that I’ll be selecting from the comments received, but if yours isn’t picked this time, there’s always a chance I might write it in the future, so don’t hesitate to share your thoughts!
Also, for those who have never commented before, I’d be really happy if you took this opportunity to comment too, so please feel free!
By the way, if no comments regarding your wishes are received, I’ll likely end up writing a short episode titled “Fiera’s Three-Step Cooking” (working title), so look forward to that!
Lastly, I plan to keep this chapter to just a few more episodes, so I aim to publish the commemorative episode towards the end of this chapter.
I apologize for not being able to post it right away, but I hope you can wait as there will be upcoming main chapters and Lewis’s backstory as well!
Thank you for your continued support of this work!!
