The War of Extinction

After the introductions, we go to our usual training room 12. It again started with Jack checking their fighting style by letting them fight the robot animals individually and everyone used their element and their skills to defeat the animals.

It makes me wonder, are they trying to show-off their skills or do they really need skills to defeat the robot animals they are facing. Are they so weak or did Jack increase the power level of the robot animals?

I can see disappointment in Jack's eyes and I am pretty sure why. It will take time for these guys to be trained to face the wilderness and the burden has fallen on his shoulders. I can't blame the kids too as Snowfa was also similar to them when she first came in.

They continue to do the fake hunts till noon. After the lunch, Jack asks Snowfa to fight the animal monsters alone to which she looks surprised and also eager to show her improvements in the battle.

I can see how she moved aggressively towards the robot animals and defeating them with ease. She did not use her Ice Armor, but used the element infusion in her hammer to defeat them with clear advantage.

I think he just wanted them to know they can achieve this feat if they train themselves as hard as she has so far. But I am surprised to hear my name from him telling me to fight the robot animals.

I take my sword out and prepare myself to face the robots that are going to come out, he comes close to me and whispers in my ear "Show no Mercy". I open my mouth to ask a question, but didn't ask as I don't want to undermine his position in front of the recruits.

I keep my sword ready to attack any robot animal that comes out of the door. I know it will be more than four as Snowfa just decimated four.

'Dude, seriously!!' Those are the first words I've come to think of when I see the robot that came out. It is an elephant, which has strong defense and attack power. This is a grade F person's nightmare.

I know the power of this elephant will be lower than the real ones, which are at Low-E at the least. But in this room, even with the reduced power, it will still be at Mid-F which will be hard for me to defeat, if I hold back.

Good thing I have already activated my Ice Armor when I was preparing, I immediately infused energy to my sword creating a thin layer of ice on it. This will help me to increase my attack power by a little.

I also start performing the battle exercise to get more power and finish this fake hunt soon. I need to treat this as a real hunt as a single attack from this robot elephant will break my bones.

I can hear gasps from the new recruits and Snowfa pleading with Jack to stop the fake hunt, but with the adrenaline that has pumped in me, I jump straight towards the robot slicing at it's front leg while I start performing the third move in battle exercise. I want to make it lose it's balance fast so I can reduce it's red health bar to 0% soon.

CLANG..

My sword connected to the knee of the robot as I planned creating a loud sound, but the attack didn't make any effect on the health bar as I expected. It didn't show any reduction.

I didn't waste any time and continued slashing at it's legs while staying close to it, giving it no room to use it's powerful trunk to attack me. It tried using it's legs to push me away, but I was able to dodge it's legs thanks to the little speed boost I still have due to my original element.

I keep performing the third move also not caring about the pain I am feeling due to it as this will be a good chance for me to break the wall that is stopping me to advance to the fourth move.

After a few minutes of slashing it's legs, I can feel my arm going numb due to it's strong defense causing vibrations whenever I attack it. I jump away giving me a few seconds to relax and stabilize the damage that is caused to my arm.

I look at the health bar and shocked to see it is still almost 50% full. If it was any other robot animal, I could have defeated three or four by now. But I have drained just more than 50% of it's health, but this is a good thing as no one in Low-F can go up against this monstrosity even in a fake hunt.

I see the robot coming towards me with it's trunk swinging at me. I want to use my shield to defend, but I know it will be painful even when I defend against it. I again jump towards it, dodging it's truck which was just a hair breath away from me and started slashing it's body from below it.

It tries to sit on me after a minute, but I again dodge it by jumping to the side and used this chance to hit it's head with my sword continuously till it's health bar reached 0%.

After the fake battle, I realized I am yet to break the wall in my battle exercise and still in the third move. But I am not disappointed as I am able to stand against a Mid-F grade animal, even though I can't win it if it was a real.

I look at Jack and Snowfa with a smile on my face which is painful after the hard battle I just completed. I could see the pride on Jack's face while Snowfa comes running towards me with concern on her face.

"This is why he is the leader of the team." I hear Jack telling the new recruits and I am surprised to hear that. 'Me, a leader? What is he joking about?' This is what I think when I hear that, but couldn't say anything as I am still struggling to control my heavy breathing.
