Y/n's POV

I did my best to avoid the delinquents that seemed more intense somehow and by intense, I mean they'd most definitely beat me to death. I could see the door only a few steps away when I suddenly heard the laughter of some delinquents nearby. Without thinking, I moved to try to find a hiding place and bumped into someone.

This is it. I'm actually gonna die.

I looked up right into the last pair of violet eyes I ever expected at this moment. The laughter came closer, and I began to shake with terror at what might happen, when Ran grabbed me by my waist and pulled me into one of the rooms nearby, completely out of sight from anyone. I pressed my back against the wall, holding me firmly in place.

All I could do was continue to stare at him in pure confusion, but after a while he only smirked before whispering, "You really are trying to get your cute little self beaten to death, huh?" He let out a soft chuckle and looked just past me to check if they were gone, but I couldn't speak.

He noticed and feigned hurt. "Aw, no 'Shut up, Ran'?"

Ran's POV

As if seeing her walking into trouble at least two times already proves she can't possibly be that bright, she is also the worst at hiding and sneaking as of late. If someone sees her…

His attention snapped to the delinquents heading her direction, and while he knew they hadn't seen her yet, it was only a matter of time.

Stressing over this chick is gonna give me gray hairs and wrinkles, damnit.

He moved before he could even think about whether he should or not, telling Rindou to hang back as he went to pull her out of harms way. Once he had pulled her into the nearest empty room and closed the door just enough to still see anyone passing by, he couldn't help but notice how quiet she was.

He looked her straight in the eye and smirked, knowing how much he had missed teasing her. He made his comment as a way to break the silence and looked past her again making sure no one else was nearby.

He felt pretty disappointed that she hadn't tried to blast him like usual. The disappointment lasted only moment as he felt her hands cups his cheeks, pulling him down to her lips for a kiss so brief and sweet, it took every amount of effort in him to not keep going.

He let her pull away to see her smiling at him.

Smiling at him.

"Thank you, Ran."

He cleared his throat as he tried to gain at least some of his composure back. "You need to get out of here, but this time, be better at sneaking, okay?" He wanted to avoid looking back toward her, but couldn't help it as he felt her move away.

He saw her turn and smiled at him before saying, "You better keep yourself out of trouble. You're not as bad as you think. I can see that. So, promise to only do what's necessary so when I see you again, I can hug you, okay?"

"Just a hug, huh?" He chuckled softly when she raised an eyebrow. "I promise to maybe think about it." He winked and watched her run off.

I hate that I'm gonna be the one to prove….I am as bad as I think…..to her and everyone else too…
