Transmigrated And Became An Omega [ABO]

Chapter 4: 4

The elderly patriarch claimed he was tired and needed to sleep, hastily ushering the two youngsters out of the small building.

It was a clumsy excuse, but it suited Shi Yue perfectly. In the bright sunshine of the Leng family's back garden, she stretched and lazily glanced at the silent Leng Yanmi.

The villain boss remained as aloof as ever. Her sharp brows and eyes were like an unattainable snowy peak, and the graceful lines of her face stretched from her cheekbones down to her well-defined jawline.

Shi Yue's gaze lingered for a moment on her indifferent lips before sliding down to her fair, swan-like neck—

In this world, scentless pheromones were perceived to mean that a person had no sexual attraction whatsoever.

How utterly ridiculous.

If she set aside her opposing stance against Leng Yanmi, the woman was practically a walking temptation for Shi Yue. The landscape of the Leng family garden rivaled famous scenic spots, with flowers and rocks artfully arranged in lush harmony. Yet, all Shi Yue could fantasize about were the springtime trysts she could have with Leng Yanmi.

A captivating scene indeed.

"What are you looking at?" Leng Yanmi couldn't ignore Shi Yue's seemingly discreet gaze, frowning as she glanced over.

Shi Yue smiled again, her eyes turning into crescent moons. "Auntie, you're beautiful."

"Don't call me Auntie." Leng Yanmi swallowed abruptly, then turned and walked away.

Shi Yue shrugged, dismissing her playful thoughts, and followed her back to the main villa.

Inside the living room, the Ragdoll cat had calmed down, lazily lying on its exclusive armchair. Leng Yanmi walked over, scooping it into her arms and absentmindedly stroking its fur.

Shi Yue noticed the maid standing to the side, nodded politely, and picked up her handbag from the couch, ready to leave.

As she turned to go, a displeased voice came from behind her.

"Where are you going?"

Shi Yue turned back.

"Back to school." She was puzzled by Leng Yanmi's odd question.

Leng Yanmi pressed her lips together.

Shi Yue sensed she had something to say. "Do you need anything else, Auntie?"

"I said, don't call me Auntie." Leng Yanmi averted her gaze. "It's not that I have something to say. Don't you think you owe me an explanation for your behavior in front of Grandpa?"

The maid, understanding the situation, tactfully left and closed the door, giving them some privacy.

Shi Yue returned to the couch, picking up the Ragdoll nestled in Leng Yanmi's lap.

The grudge-holding white cat hadn't forgotten their earlier dispute, but with its owner holding it, it couldn't lash out. Instead, it turned around, presenting its plump white backside to Shi Yue.

Shi Yue smiled mischievously like a villain.

Then, she lifted her head and looked at Leng Yanmi. "Are you considering my suggestion to Grandpa?"

Leng Yanmi replied indifferently, "You're not worthy."

"Aunt… cough." Shi Yue barely restrained the habit of calling her Auntie, changing it to, "Sister Yanmi, you're so straightforward. It makes me sad."

The word "sister" was spoken even more delicately than "auntie." When Leng Yanmi heard it, her body visibly trembled.

But she quickly recovered, though her expression remained somewhat complex.

The next moment, she took a deep breath, grabbing Shi Yue's wrist, which was still petting the Ragdoll. "Shi Yue, you'd better remember your place. You must know the current situation of the Shi family. Don't overstep, or you might bite off more than you can chew."

Shi Yue understood the implication behind her words.

Her engagement to Leng Mingchuan was, after all, an attempt by the Shi family to climb the social ladder. Shi Yue being chosen as the Leng family's young madam was largely due to the high compatibility between her and Leng Mingchuan's pheromones.

To put it bluntly, with her status, being matched with Leng Mingchuan was already a stretch, let alone now that she was coveting the actual head of the Leng family.

Leng Yanmi's "you're not worthy" wasn't pleasant to hear, but in reality, it wasn't an unfounded accusation.

"Well, well." Shi Yue certainly wasn't going to follow Leng Yanmi's logic.

She stretched out her hand, placing it over the one holding her wrist. "So, you make all your choices purely based on business interests?"

Leng Yanmi's voice was cold. "What else?"

"But, Sister Yanmi…" Under the oppressive pressure from the other, Shi Yue didn't retreat. Instead, she leaned closer toward Leng Yanmi. "My choice of you has nothing to do with anything else."

Her fingers gently stroked Leng Yanmi's warm skin. Shi Yue curled her lips, exhaling softly beside her ear.

"I choose you, Auntie, because I like you."

In the next instant, Shi Yue was pushed away.

Leng Yanmi abruptly stood up from the couch, and the poor Ragdoll cat fell to the floor, letting out a questioning "meow."

Being a very perceptive little kitty, it wisely refrained from making a scene, quietly sticking to Leng Yanmi's side like a real plush toy.

Shi Yue's heart skipped a beat, a thought flashing in her mind that she might have taken this too far.

But when she looked up again, she distinctly saw a blush hidden in the folds of Leng Yanmi's ear.

Was it from anger, or...

Embarrassment?

Sure enough, in the next moment, Leng Yanmi warned, "You'd better not joke around with me."

Before she could continue her threat, Shi Yue quickly interrupted, "I'm not joking."

She steadied herself. "I'm a very traditional person. I wouldn't joke about something like liking someone." She touched her left chest. "Wanting to choose Auntie to maintain the marriage alliance is true, and liking Auntie is also true."

She said this without any mental burden. Even if they hooked her up to a hundred lie detectors, she could confidently declare, "I like Leng Yanmi."

After all, with Leng Yanmi's face and demeanor, it was harder not to be attracted to her.

The blush at the tips of Leng Yanmi's ears rapidly spread, soon coloring her entire beautiful face.

Facing Shi Yue, who seemed ready to swear an oath, she was momentarily at a loss for words. Finally, after taking several deep breaths, she spoke, "I don't… have those kinds of feelings for you."

"Really?" Shi Yue boldly leaned in closer, their cheeks nearly touching. She could feel the warmth radiating from Leng Yanmi's face.

Clearly, she was the one confessing, yet the one who was flustered and unable to maintain composure was Leng Yanmi.

Leng Yanmi plopped back down onto the couch.

She picked up the Ragdoll cat beside her, burying her head in its soft white fur. "I'm your elder. You should be more… dignified."

"Alright." Shi Yue took two steps back.

With the distance increased, Leng Yanmi seemed more at ease. She raised her head, about to steer the conversation back on track, when she heard Shi Yue´s cheerful voice. "I'll try my best."

"Try what?" Leng Yanmi was momentarily confused.

Shi Yue gave her a bright smile. "Try my best to pursue you, Auntie."

Leng Yanmi lowered her eyes again.

Watching Leng Yanmi's awkward demeanor filled Shi Yue with glee. Suddenly, Leng Yanmi stood up, holding the cat in her arms.

She walked straight to the living room door, opened it, and left behind a curt "You should leave now" before disappearing around the corner of the corridor.

Shi Yue glanced at the time and remembered she had an evening class, so she left the villa and hailed a car back to campus.

After she left, Leng Yanmi came out of her room.

At the front door, she asked the old butler, "Did she leave?"

"Huh?" The old butler was momentarily confused, not realizing who she was referring to. After catching on, he clapped his hands together. "Oh, she left. The young master also rushed out in a hurry, not saying where he was going.

"Miss, I noticed he seemed upset. Is he at odds with the master again?"

"..." Leng Yanmi was silent for a moment, then shook her head. "It's nothing."

"Sigh—" The old butler sighed.

He quickly pulled himself together. "Are you heading to the company? Should I call the driver for you?"

"No need." Leng Yanmi brushed past him. "I'm going out for a bit. If Grandpa asks tonight, tell him I went back to the city center apartment and won't be back for dinner."

"Understood." The old butler bowed respectfully. "Take care on the road."

Shi Yue's current identity was that of a fashion design student, and coincidentally, she and Leng Mingchuan attended the same prestigious university. Although they were in different programs, they were on the same campus. By chance, they could bump into each other a few times a week in the teaching buildings.

Before she was transported into this novel, Shi Yue was also a designer, so she quickly adapted to the current courses. Besides reviewing past lessons, she delved into the fashion trends of this world.

After getting off the car, it was still early for class. She bought a bread roll from the campus shop for dinner and planned to stay in the classroom until it got dark.

Unexpectedly, at the entrance of the teaching building, she ran into a familiar face.

"What's the situation?" Cousin Shi Fang blocked her path. "Is the Leng family still willing to have you?"

Shi Yue looked up, catching the disdain and mockery in her eyes.

She flexed her fingers. "Leng Mingchuan has never had any good feelings for me. You knew that, didn't you, Cousin?"

Shi Fang sneered. "You're at least the young lady of the Shi family, yet you can't even measure up to some nobody. People would laugh if they heard."

The "nobody" she referred to was Shen Lingling, the girl Leng Mingchuan liked.

"Yeah." Shi Yue shrugged nonchalantly. "That's why I'm planning to make a suggestion to Leng Mingchuan."

"Huh?" Shi Fang asked, "What suggestion?"

Shi Yue looped an arm around her neck and whispered in her ear, "If I'm not good enough, surely you are, Cousin.

"Why don't I give you the spot for this marriage alliance? You can marry Leng Mingchuan. Wouldn't it be easy for you to outshine that nobody?"

Shi Fang's face turned beet red. "What are you talking about? Leng Shao, Leng Shao he..."

She struggled to speak, showing no clear refusal.

Shi Yue smirked. "Aren't you about to graduate? You could become Leng Mingchuan's bride and join his company as a senior executive."

Shi Fang wasn't entirely blinded by the grand prospect. She instinctively retorted, "There's no need for that.

"Father has already arranged a position for me in our family company after I graduate."

"That's not going to happen." Shi Yue stated bluntly.

"What?!" Shi Fang thought she misheard.

"I said..." Shi Yue stepped back and dusted off some invisible dirt from her cousin's shoulder. "Shi Nuo's recruitment standards aren't that low, are they? Are you joining as a cleaner?"

She smiled. "Wouldn't that be a waste of your talent?"

Shi Fang finally realized, glaring at her viciously.

Shi Yue couldn't care less about her expression. She gave Shi Fang a mock wave before turning and heading toward the teaching building.
