Chapter 2: Something Strange on the Beach
Luna against lame Corvo, crooked beak
Feeling your lips close to my ear, an unexpected warmth runs through my skin, and my gaze, which was previously one of mild indignation, softens.
The concern in your voice makes my heart beat a little faster.
I look at you attentively, and although I am still a bit wet and have a serious expression, the truth is that the sensation of your concern melts me. I take a deep breath before responding, my gaze becoming softer.
"Don't worry, my dear," I say, with a calmer tone, though still with lightness in my voice.
"I'm fine, just a little surprised by your boldness. But... I'll let it slide this time." I give a small smile, still trying to maintain a serious demeanor, but the sparkle in my eyes already betrays my amusement. "Just... be careful next time, okay?"
I am completely caught off guard, my dear , by your sudden attitude! The scene unfolds so quickly that I can barely process it. The idea of being seen in a bikini and being swept into your arms leaves me speechless for a moment.
Feeling your strength as you lift me, a wave of laughter and adrenaline overtakes me. I can no longer keep up the serious facade; my surprise turns into pure fun.
"You really enjoy surprising me, don't you?" I say, still dazed as you run toward the waves.
The cold water that envelops us hits with intensity, and the sensation is so good and refreshing that all traces of anger disappear completely.
Now, we're both wet, sand sticking to our bodies, but a genuine smile on my face.
"Now this—this is fun!" I say, laughing as I step away slightly from the waves, but not out of their reach, knowing the fun isn't over yet.
I follow your gaze, my dear master, and upon seeing what you pointed at, a chill runs down my spine. Something dark, unusual, tearing through the sky in broad daylight, falling toward the sea at an alarming speed.
My instincts tell me it's not something natural, something that shouldn't be there.
"That... that's not a shooting star," I say, my voice tinged with curiosity and slight concern. "It looks more like a... some kind of aircraft? I don't know... but it doesn't seem normal."
I move a little closer to you, my eyes fixed on that dark smudge on the horizon, trying to understand what it could be.
The atmosphere around us begins to change. The air, once light and fresh, now feels dense, as if something is about to happen.
"I... I don't know what it is, but something tells me it's not a good idea to stay here."
My voice now carries a hint of apprehension, but at the same time, an urge to understand more about what we are witnessing.
The sudden, strange sensation of something pulling us toward the water makes me freeze for a moment, my dear master.
The force coming from beneath the water is unusual and frightening. Strange algae begin wrapping around us, pulling with growing strength, as if the sea itself is trying to devour us.
I look at you with a determined expression, seeing the panic in your eyes. Without a second thought, I use the strength I've kept hidden for so long.
With a quick movement, seemingly coming from a deep part of me, I grab your hand and pull you toward me, using all my strength to get us both out of the water, even as the algae continue to drag us.
I feel a pulsating energy within me, something that once seemed dormant, now manifesting, and the instinct to protect you feels undeniable.
"Stay with me; don't stop following me," I say firmly, my voice trembling only from the intensity of the moment.
I pull you harder, my feet now firmly planted on the sand, trying to keep us out of the water's reach, which now seems intent on swallowing us whole.
My eyes don't leave yours, and with each step toward safety, I can feel the weight of responsibility on my shoulders.
No, nothing will separate us. Not while I can fight for it.
I feel your tight embrace, and hearing your words, a slight confusion and surprise wash over me.
You're looking at me with a mix of admiration and questioning, and I realize that the truth about my strength, something I've hidden for so long, is about to be revealed—but not now. Not yet.
I see in your eyes the fear of losing me, and it touches me deeply. The tension between us is palpable.
I don't want you to see me differently, but I know it's inevitable.
Without knowing what else to say, I take a deep breath and step back slightly, trying to mask the intensity of what I'm feeling.
"My dear," I say softly, trying to stay calm. "What happened... was an instinctive reaction, something I can't completely explain right now. Sometimes, the strength within us reveals itself in moments of pure necessity. Maybe it was the fear of losing you... or maybe... a need to protect you, no matter what."
I look at you, feeling the weight of my own lie, but trying to appear sincere. "I can't tell you everything yet, as much as I want to, but know that everything I do, everything I've done... is because I love you. And for that, I'll always be by your side, no matter what I am."
I embraced you again, perhaps more tightly than before, as if it were the only way to show the truth behind my words.
I notice your surprised and confused look as I see the bikini slowly fading away, as if it were part of something that shouldn't be there.
A strange sensation settles between us. I feel a slight chill down my spine and quickly step back, my face now showing discomfort.
"No... it's not what you think," I say, trying to mask my body's reaction.
I feel the need to hide, to protect the truth even more. The bikini disappearing isn't normal, but at the same time, I can't let you see what's behind it.
"There are things... things I can't control, but also things I don't want you to understand yet."
I stand still for a moment, searching for a way to restore normalcy to the moment. "I... I need you to understand me, to trust me. This isn't my body... or at least not in the way you think."
The shame and fear of being discovered almost paralyze me, but I try to stay calm, as if this were something only I could handle.
