Wanda Maximoff Multiversal Harem Hunter

Chapter 17: Liberation Of The Food District Pt. 1

The dim light of the Sokovian evening cast long shadows across the crumbling industrial landscape. The food production center, a sprawling fortress of steel and smoke, loomed ahead. Crimson banners bearing Hydra's emblem fluttered in the faint breeze, a grim reminder of their suffocating grip on Sokovia.

Wanda Maximoff crouched behind an abandoned tractor, her crimson magic flickering at her fingertips. The Chitauri Scepter, its pale blue glow contrasting with her chaotic energy, hummed faintly. Beside her, Eska Vryn, the resistance leader, knelt with binoculars pressed to her eyes.

"They've turned this place into a fortress," Eska muttered. "Snipers in the towers, patrols on rotation, and automated turrets along the perimeter."

Wanda smirked, her crimson eyes narrowing. "Hydra's paranoid. I like that. Makes it more fun when we tear them down."

Eska lowered the binoculars and shot her a dry look. "This isn't about fun, Maximoff. People are starving. Hydra's been drugging the food and water supply to keep them docile. If we don't succeed here, it's over for Sokovia."

Wanda's playful demeanor vanished, replaced by cold determination. "Then let's make sure we succeed."

Eska nodded and signaled to the resistance fighters hidden in the shadows. The small team, clad in scavenged armor and armed with a mix of outdated rifles and improvised weapons, began moving into position.

"Stay close," Eska whispered. "We'll handle the outer defenses. You focus on disabling the main facility."

"Trust me," Wanda said, her voice low but confident. "I've got this."

The team approached the factory gates under the cover of darkness. Wanda raised her hand, her magic swirling around her fingers as she focused on the guards patrolling the perimeter. With a flick of her wrist, a crimson wave surged forward, encasing the guards in glowing tendrils of chaos magic. They crumpled silently to the ground.

"Efficient," Eska whispered, impressed despite herself.

"I don't like wasting time," Wanda replied.

Eska and the fighters moved quickly, taking out the remaining guards and disabling the automated turrets. Wanda followed, her senses on high alert. The factory loomed larger with every step, its massive doors sealed tight.

Eska gestured toward a nearby terminal. "We need to override the locks. Give me a minute."

"Take your time," Wanda said, stepping in front of the group. Her eyes glowed as she sensed movement inside. "We've got company."

The factory doors groaned open, revealing a squad of Hydra soldiers armed with high-tech rifles. Their leader, a towering man in black armor, stepped forward, his voice amplified by a modulator. "You're trespassing. Surrender now, and you'll be spared."

Wanda tilted her head, a smirk playing on her lips. "Spared? How generous."

Before the soldier could respond, Wanda's magic surged forward, slamming into the squad like a tidal wave. Chaos erupted as the resistance fighters opened fire, engaging the remaining guards in a fierce firefight.

Eska worked furiously at the terminal, her fingers flying over the keys. "Wanda, I need more time!"

"Take all the time you need," Wanda called back, deflecting a blast of gunfire with a shield of crimson energy. "I'll keep them busy."

With the outer defenses neutralized, the team pushed inside the factory. The interior was a labyrinth of conveyor belts, vats of glowing liquid, and massive machinery. The air was heavy with the acrid scent of chemicals, mixed with the sickly-sweet aroma of the drug Hydra had been using to pacify Sokovia's population.

Wanda's gaze swept over the workers moving mechanically along the assembly lines. Their vacant stares and sluggish movements confirmed Eska's warnings. These people weren't just controlled—they were broken.

"They've turned them into puppets," Eska said, her voice tight with anger.

Wanda's grip on the scepter tightened. "Not for long."

The sound of boots on metal echoed through the factory as Hydra reinforcements arrived. Wanda turned, her crimson energy flaring as a squad of soldiers stormed into the room.

"Keep moving!" she shouted to the resistance fighters. "I'll handle them."

Eska hesitated but nodded, leading the team toward the control room. Wanda stepped forward, her magic crackling in the air around her.

The first soldier raised his weapon, but Wanda was faster. She twisted her hand, sending a wave of chaos magic that tore the rifle from his grasp and hurled him across the room. Another soldier lunged at her with a stun baton, but Wanda sidestepped gracefully, slamming the scepter into his chest. The glowing tip flared, and he crumpled to the ground.

"You're going to need more than toys to stop me," Wanda said, her voice dripping with mockery.

As the last soldier fell, Wanda turned her attention back to the production lines. The glowing liquid being pumped into the vats radiated an unnatural energy that made her skin crawl. She extended her senses, brushing against the minds of the workers.

What she found made her stomach churn. Their thoughts were fractured, their memories buried under a fog of compliance and fear. Hydra hadn't just drugged them—they had erased who they were.

"This isn't just control," Wanda muttered, her voice trembling with rage. "It's annihilation."

Eska's voice crackled through Wanda's earpiece. "We've reached the control room. There's a file here labeled 'Antidote Protocol.' If we can find it, we might be able to reverse this."

"Do it," Wanda said. "I'll buy you some time."

Hydra reinforcements poured into the factory, their sheer numbers forcing Wanda to dig deeper into her powers. She raised both hands, crimson tendrils spiraling out to ensnare the soldiers. With a sharp motion, she hurled them into the machinery, sparks flying as the equipment groaned under the strain.

One soldier managed to fire a grenade launcher, the explosive shell hurtling toward Wanda. She caught it mid-air with her magic, twisting it into a harmless ball of scrap before launching it back at the attacker. The explosion lit up the factory, casting shadows that danced across the walls.

"Is that the best you've got?" Wanda taunted, her voice echoing over the chaos.

Meanwhile, Eska and her team worked frantically in the control room. The terminal displayed a series of complex codes, each one a potential key to unlocking the antidote.

"We've got it!" Eska shouted. She grabbed a glowing vial from the terminal's storage unit and tucked it into her pack. "We need to regroup with Wanda."

As the resistance fighters raced back toward Wanda, the factory shuddered with the force of the battle raging inside. Hydra's forces showed no signs of relenting, but neither did Wanda. Her crimson energy lit up the darkness, a beacon of defiance against Hydra's oppression.

This was only the beginning.
