Chapter 552: Reunion (1)
"Fools! You can't hide anything from me!" Ink angrily interjected as he slammed a powerful fist into the restriction. "Heh, and with the array the way it is now, it's just a minor setback. I'll still get out of this treacherous trap in less than a hundred years even if I do nothing. Traitors!" He continued in his anger.
"Oh, you think you know what's inside this box? Go ahead, answer, I'll wait." Wu Kuang taunted. "Oh and for every wrong answer I'll devour a portion of your strength away. Consider it your punishment for spouting nonsense all the time." He added.
Ink roared with fury. "Fine! It's a set of open heaven materials to help the traitor Cang recover." He answered all smug-like.
Then, Ink began devouring ink's power in spades. The resulting screams were nothing short of hilarious to Wu Kuang. "Wow, that really was fast. Already purified. Not bad brat, that really is a good thing." He chuckled.
"8th brother, this good thing you speak of, is it the same?" Cang asked as he opened the box from inside his small universe. "It seems… Almost on par with the legends of the lotuses. Just who or what made this precious thing? And how?" He continued, almost scared to refine it.
"It was the same brat who gave me a ride all the way here. It was quite the distance yet it only took a few minutes to get over here." Wu Kuang answered, laughing as he did. "When you're done refining that good thing. I have another super good thing that the very same brat gave me…" He continued.
"So long as you have a good hold on controlling the array, I will begin. I can sense this will be difficult for me given how little strength I have left over after so long." Cang said, finally explaining his worry.
"HAHAHAHA! That brat must have thought you'd say that. Check the ring he gifted you…" Wu Kuang laughed, holding his gut. "This is too damn funny. I must have looked just like you when I first saw him too… No wonder others laughed, it's just too funny." He added.
Ink was watching this scene, causing his anger to grow. "IGNORING ME LIKE THIS! I'LL SHOW YOU!!!" He roared with intense anger. "I'll focus on building an unstoppable army. And then once this damn prison is finally depleted of all the traitorous power put in it I'll wreak havoc and kill all the humans! Or maybe I can eat them slowly as they bleed and beg for mercy. Running in terror as they did a million years ago. You'll regret this, I promise that. The open heaven method is not enough to deal with me. And you know it…" He finished saying before falling silent as the number of ink clansmen began rising at what would be an alarming rate for anyone to see. Putting the size of the army into numbers… It was big… A very big number… If one didn't know better, they'd claim it to be infinite… That's just how vast the army was and it kept growing.
"Hmm, seems like Ink decided to move far enough away that he won't be able to hear us now. That's good." Wu Kuang said, looking at the now flabbergasted Cang.
"This… Are these things real? I'm not dreaming am I?" Cang said, in a muffled, barely understandable low tone as his mouth just hung open in shock of the things he saw in that ring.
"They are real. Like I said, he really didn't want you to kick the bucket so soon. Honestly, I wouldn't be surprised if he had the ability to revive people… Wait, I think I heard rumors he actually did it and for a 6th rank no less. Not sure how credible that story is though. As I wasn't there. But what I have seen from him thus far… Well…" Wu Kuang explained…
"Then he must be a creation realm expert!" Cang exclaimed, cutting Wu Kuang off… It was silent for a moment. "He is right?" He asked, now a bit worried.
"Well, that's the thing… I don't actually know. He did just reach the 8th rank open heaven realm. And he managed to toy with two giant spirit gods like it was a warm up exercise. But I don't think he's actually in the creation realm." Wu Kuang answered as best he could.
"I see, perhaps he and Mu would have been able to discuss the path together…" Cang sighed, and then began refining materials into his small universe. "Still, with what I've heard already… We may actually have a fighting chance against Ink now. After all, no amount of 9th rank strength is going to make this orb thing. Such a powerful thing… Truly fantastic." He continued.
"Just make sure you pace yourself. We don't want you dying by accident. Don't let that brats effort's go to waste." Wu Kuang said, then stopped and chuckled. "That Yang family really did change me quite a bit…" He murmured.
Cang ignored the comment as he continued to refine resources at speeds that would shatter the minds of the new generation. "Huh, it's almost like this brat you speak of knew to give me a little extra resources where I'd need them." He chuckled, having just finished refining a few sets of 7th rank materials and moving onto the 8th rank. "Oh, by the way… What is the boy's name? The one who created that orb thing." He asked, as the resources quickly began empowering and stabilizing his small universe.
"The first one is Yang Kai the Void Divine Monarch, he was the one who started the ridiculous trends. Trends that gave the human race a chance to breathe a bit. But… It was his young son, Yang Leiji, the Temporal Thunder Divine Monarch, who created that orb and sent me all the way here." Wu Kuang answered, bringing out the jar of special wine I had given him. "He also made this good stuff. Unfortunately, he sealed it with a barrier that only opens when two people with power over fate touch the seal. So hurry and refine that Mortal Coil, the orb." He explained, drooling over the rumors of this very particular wine.
"Ahahaha, it seems that Yang Leiji knows how to have fun. Giving us wine that'll only open when we reunite with old friends… I'd like to meet this young man." Cang expressed, beginning his final refinement, the Mortal Coil.
