Chapter 21: Jealous (3)
"One... Two... And... Last three..." muttered a silver-haired student who was busy arranging some books on the library shelves.
He don't know what he did wrong to end up there. Even though he himself did it spontaneously out of sheer emotion. But that student had no other choice but to finish the punishment he got. Claire's sweat fell from his temples, as the library was quite hot.
"Hufft... Is the air conditioner turned off?" Claire took off his school coat and saw that his white shirt was quite wet. He lightly flicked his collar to get a little breeze. "A little more and then I'll be home."
Ring ring ring
Suddenly his cell phone rang, Claire picked up his cell phone and saw on the screen that his mother was calling. "Mom got to call me."
He quickly picked up the phone, and as expected, his mother asked for Claire's whereabouts. Claire explained that he was still at school and would be home soon.
"Mom just wait, I'll be home soon. Don't worry, I can go home by myself. Yes, then I'll finish my assignment first."
Piiip
The phone turned off, Claire quickly finished his work. At that moment he didn't see Fein anywhere, and Claire didn't really care either. It was better that Fein wasn't there because it would bother him a lot.
"Last book and done. Finally, it's time for me to go home." Claire took back the coat that he had put down. However, just as he was about to leave, a pair of hands wrapped around his waist. Pulling his body back, into a man's embrace. "Wh-what the--"
"Where are you going?" the man whispered while resting his chin on Claire's right shoulder.
"Of course home, you think I'll be here all night? Now let me go!"
"No way~ You're not done with your work, Claire."
Claire glanced at Fein who hugged him and said all his work was done. He had put all the books on the shelf and now he wanted to go home. However, instead of being released by Fein, the purple-haired man tightened his hug even more.
"You're done with the books, but you're not done with me," Fein whispered again while lightly biting Claire's right ear.
Claire's body instantly shuddered, his face turning red as this was the second time Fein had done this to him. The library was very quiet and the lights were slightly dimmed, now it was just him and Fein. He was afraid something would happen. Even then, Claire could feel Fein's breath clearly on his neck.
"Your scent is delicious... Are these your pheromones? Inhaled up close, it's even more delicious."
"D-don't say things like that, Fein! Let go of me or I'll beat you up after this!"
"Just do it, if you can." Without saying anything else, Fein suddenly turned Claire's body gently and pulled his face close.
"I wonder... Why do you prefer Dior to be close to you? I don't like seeing you two together," Fein whispered in such a low tone of voice but Claire could tell that Fein meant what he said.
"What do you mean, Fein? Why are you--"
"And also... Why does Dior want to kiss you so much? Oh right, it feels so soft."
"Like the last time I did it to you... " Fein continued before he finally kissed Claire deeply on the lips.
Claire's eyes were closed when Fein kissed him, for some reason his body could not move as he wanted. He should be able to push Fein away from him, or perhaps... This is what he wanted?
A soft and warm kiss, plus the hot atmosphere around them and the dark night sky. Silence filled the library, no one would disturb the two of them.
'What is this? It feels... So soft and warm. But why me,' Claire thought at that moment.
"Claire..."
Hearing his name being called, Claire opened his eyes and he was surprised not to see Fein in front of him at the moment. He turned his head right and left looking for him, and found him at the end of the shelf aisle. Staring at Claire with a strange gaze.
"What are you doing? Why are you just daydreaming, are you done with your work? I want to go home!" he said.
"Huh? I..." Claire was silent for a moment, was it just his imagination? Fein who hugged him and then kissed him. If he thought about it again, it was so different from the Fein he knew, there was no way Fein would do that to him.
As Claire's face turned bright red, he picked up his bag and left Fein. "I'm leaving!"
Fein followed Claire until the library door then leaned in front of it while folding his hands, looking at Claire who was walking away. A sly smile appeared on Fein's face, as he licked his own lips then wiped them with his thumb. "Heh... So soft."
For several days Claire had been coming home late to tidy up the books in the library. During that time she also wondered why only Fein was on guard when he remembered that there were other students who were supposed to be on guard as well. But he didn't think too much about it because his mind kept getting distracted by the memory of when Fein kissed him.
He felt like the kiss really happened because he could feel the soft and warm taste of the man's lips. However, on the one hand he couldn't be sure if the kiss was real, he couldn't possibly ask Fein about it.
So he chose to remain silent without saying anything to anyone. 'I might go crazy if I keep thinking about it!'
"Claire!" A tap on someone's shoulder startled her, simultaneously snapping her out of her daydream.
"Oh Dior, what's wrong?" asked Claire.
"You've been daydreaming, is there something bothering you?"
Claire was silent for a moment as he looked in another direction, and what he saw was Fein reading a book on his chair. Dior looked in the direction Claire was looking and his eyes narrowed when he realized who he was looking at.
"He's bothering you again? Did he do something to you?"
"Huh? No, he didn't. He didn't do anything. Forget it," Claire replied while drinking his juice box.
"Are you sure? You've been with him every day after school lately, he must have done something to you, right?" Dior reached out his hand to Claire's head and rubbed it.
Claire quickly brushed Dior's hand away from his head, as if he didn't want Dior to touch him. Of course Dior was quite surprised by his friend's behavior towards him. However, Claire soon realized what she had just done to his best friend.
"S-sorry, I didn't mean to do it. I just..."
"Mnn it's okay, I'm sorry I treated you like that too much. I shouldn't have crossed the line because I know who you are," Dior said pulling his own arm away.
Claire felt a little guilty to Dior for treating him so rudely, for some reason his hand seemed to move on its own to do such a thing. He immediately got up from his chair and said he wanted to go to the bathroom.
"I'm going to the restroom." Claire walked away leaving Dior behind.
At that moment, Fein, who had witnessed it, silently smiled triumphantly. As if it was what he had been waiting for for a long time.
