Who is Playing the Love Development Game in Gundam

Chapter 226: Chapter 226: The Shared Affection Bonus

With one day left before the Strengthening Operation, He Kui returned to May City. As the primary developer behind the Freedom and Justice units, he needed to ensure everything was ready for their deployment.

While back in his office, he received an unexpected visitor.

"Captain Andrew, didn't expect to see you here," He Kui greeted.

"Let's skip the formalities," Andrew shrugged.

"So, what brings you here?"

"Firstly, Aisha wanted to take your girlfriend shopping, and secondly, I came to discuss the upcoming operation. Word is, you're curious about the mission details?"

"Very."

"Alright, I can share what's within my authority and what isn't classified," Andrew replied.

"Thank you."

Classified information likely included the true target of the operation. It seemed the Clyne faction, with Andrew's connections, already had advanced knowledge of the plan.

"Will you also be going to Earth, Captain?"

"Yes, I'll be leading the second unit and overseeing the Zala team."

"Congratulations."

"It's just part of the job," Andrew shrugged. "Honestly, I'd rather retire."

"Perhaps soon enough."

"Let's hope."

"Would you like to see the new units?"

"Athrun should be training right now."

"Sounds good."

They shared a smile and headed to the secret facility. The lab had essentially become their testing ground. Though the weapons systems had been fully tested, pilot experience remained irreplaceable.

"Captain Andrew, He Kui," Diego, who'd been observing the Freedom and Justice training session, greeted them with a dejected expression. "Director, when will my new unit be ready?"

"Be patient," He Kui smirked. "But in the meantime, I can authorize you to test the Crab mech."

"I'll pass on that."

"What, not interested?"

Diego simply gave He Kui a reproachful glare, which He Kui found amusing.

Turning to the glass panel, Andrew observed the combat test between the two Gundams. "It looks like Justice is making good progress, and Freedom is catching up."

"Time is tight. You could say everything depends on this," He Kui replied, his gaze following the mechs in motion.

If the Cyclops system detonated, it wouldn't mean instant defeat, but it would make it inevitable. Especially with Athrun and other council members' children involved, Patrick Zala might resort to Genesis. Should nuclear missiles still threaten them, PLANT would likely respond by targeting the Atlantic Federation's capital. Events could spiral back to where they began.

This was why He Kui had used every resource he could to prepare, but progress on the Zeta Gundam was slow. The system showed that progress was shared between him, Shi He, and Su Lei, but even sending gifts hadn't sped things up. Maybe…

Since that night, he hadn't spent time with both Shi He and Su Lei together. Perhaps he should try?

Refocusing on the experiment, He Kui observed Athrun and Yzak finish their training session. As they returned to the control room, both pilots saluted sharply.

"How's the unit handling?" He Kui asked.

"With this Gundam, I can take them all down!" Yzak replied, full of confidence.

"Best to stay cautious," He Kui advised.

With the Freedom Gundam at his disposal, Yzak had every reason to feel victorious, but his enthusiasm mirrored the general sentiment among the ZAFT soldiers, who were riding a wave of optimism fueled by military propaganda. Even He Kui himself had been part of that publicity campaign.

"Let's hope we win," He Kui said quietly.

"We will!" Yzak replied confidently, with Athrun chiming in as well.

He Kui only smiled in response.

Later that night, He Kui returned to the asteroid base with Shi He and Su Lei.

"Seal off the asteroid. Is there anything left to do? We won't be opening the gate for at least three days," He Kui instructed.

He Kui's lockdown would be complete, revoking access for everyone except himself. The security was impregnable unless someone developed a virus that surpassed his quantum firewall—a highly unlikely scenario, ensuring that his base was as safe as it could be.

"No, we're all set," the two replied.

With a nod, He Kui locked down the asteroid and disconnected it from external networks.

"So, what did you buy outside?" he asked, noticing the bags being unloaded by the transport robots.

"Just some clothes, right?" Shi He answered, giving Su Lei's hand a gentle tug.

"Mm-hmm," Su Lei murmured, blushing.

That night, He Kui discovered exactly what they had bought—clothes, but of a very specific kind.

Shi He was dressed in an elegant black lace set, the intricate design resembling a delicate web draped across her body. Her fair skin seemed to glow under the light, the lace shifting slightly with her breaths, creating a subtle allure.

Beside her, Su Lei was no less captivating in a pure white lace ensemble, evoking the image of an angel. The translucent lace hinted at her petite, graceful form, while the straps on her pale shoulders added a touch of innocence.

"So, this is what you bought?" He Kui swallowed involuntarily.

"There's more where that came from. Do you like it?" Shi He asked, twirling in place, her white skin peeking out from behind black lace.

"Very much!" He Kui replied, nodding emphatically.

What followed on the large bed they'd recently installed was a night of passion.

> [Su Lei Affection: 168]

[Shi He Affection: 182]

[Five rounds of shared bonding, Zeta Gundam +300]

[Shared Affection Bonus: +2]

[Zeta Gundam Progress: (600/50,000)]

Sixty points per time—at that rate, reaching fifty thousand would require over eight hundred rounds. Even with a multiplier, it would still mean over four hundred sessions.

Even for a Coordinator, that was quite a feat.

"If I'd known, I'd have kept Cagalli around… or mayb

e I should just visit Orb?"

"But there's a shared affection bonus…"

"So what exactly is this shared affection bonus?"
