Winterfell High

Chapter 10: Chapter 51 - 55

Chapter 51

Sansa Stark POV

I can't believe Dany invited Jon and his friends out camping for spring break. I mean, I'm grateful because otherwish I wouldn't have been able to go, but it's still weird to me. I had a good time camping when we went 2 summers ago, so I think it'll be fun.

I haven't purged since Valentine's Day, which is a good thing. I'm back to my diet, I really fell off the wagon there for a while. I can't let that happen again.

Jon is driving us to school in awkward silence when he suddenly says, "Oh, Sam changed his mind about camping. He decided he wants to stay in town."

"Oh okay," I respond. "But you still want to go, right?"

"Yes, Sansa," Jon responds, sounding irritated with me. "I know you only want me there so you can go, but I'm not going for you. I'm going because I could really use some time with my friends and I think it'll be fun."

He didn't have to be such an asshole about it. "Alright," I say quietly. "Glad I know where you stand." He just stays silent, probably so he can avoid yelling at me. If I tell mom, she'll get on to him.

Once we get to school, I go to find Ramsay. He usually likes to make out or something before school. We're behind the school where no one is at this hour, luckily today he seems to not mind talking.

"Are you excited for camping?" He asks me.

"I am," I respond. "But I was only allowed to go if Jon came."

"Oh, I didn't know Jon was coming. Didn't he and Reek used to be friends?"

"Theon?" I ask. That's such a rude nickname. "Yeah they were close in middle school, I'm not really sure what happened." I can tell he's irritated that I called Theon by his name and not some asshole nickname, but I don't care. I'm starting to think Ramsay isn't such a great guy after all.

"Jon apparently wasn't a good friend to him," Ramsay says. "He said he was manipulative."

I have no response to that, because it doesn't make any sense. My brother is a lot of things, bur manipulative isn't one of them. I think Theon just wanted to be popular and Jon had no interest in that, and now he doesn't know how to get out of it. I want to feel bad for Theon, but he ditched one of his oldest friends for popularity. I may want to be popular, but that isn't something I'd ever do.

Daenerys Targaryen POV

I officially broke up with Daario over the phone tonight. It was mostly sex, I wasn't looking for anything serious, but I think he was. I felt kind of bad doing it over the phone, but like I said it wasn't serious. I just know he was looking forward to maybe going camping with us over spring break. I want to talk to Cersei about the breakup, but I know she has enough to deal with right now. Instead I pick up the phone and call Margaery.

"Hello?" She says after picking up.

"Hey, Marg," I say. "I just broke up with Daario."

"Oh, I'm sorry. How did he take it?"

"Not great. I was really just looking for something casual, but I think he wanted something more serious."

"Sorry about that," she replies. "Can I ask you something?"

"Of course," I say. "What's up?"

"Why did you invite Jon Snow to come camping with us?"

"I thought it would be a nice gesture. And I knew it would increase the chances of Sansa coming, especially if we were bringing the guys."

"It has nothing to do with the fact that Jon broke up with his girlfriend?"

"Margaery, why would that matter?"

"I'm just asking."

"No, Margaery. It has nothing to do with that."

"Okay… well I'm sorry about Daario. I'm sure the camping trip will help take your mind off of it."

"Thanks. I'm going to bed, but I just needed to vent for a minute."

"Goodnight, Dany."

"Goodnight, Marg." I am excited for the camping trip, but I probably shouldn't be dating right now. I need to focus on graduating and preparing for my dad to move back in. That's another reason I wanted to break up with Daario, I have too much going on right now.

It's Thursday, and tomorrow is the last day of school before spring break. Luckily we'll also have a break from cheer, so we can kinda go wild on the camping trip. We leave for camping on Sunday, and we come back Wednesday night. We're all sitting at lunch, talking about our plans for the break.

"Oh by the way," Sansa says. "Sam decided not to come camping, so he's out."

"Oh that's fine," I respond. "Ask him if he can bring that guy Podrick."

"Why?" Sansa asks.

"Because we need to know how he got those girls to have a foursome with him for his first time," Jaime chimes in. "Dude's a legend." Cersei glares at him.

"I'll ask him to ask Podrick tonight," Sansa responds. "It's a little short notice, but maybe he can come."

I'm really excited for this trip, I know it'll be a lot of fun. I don't know how Cersei will hide her pregnancy while we're camping or after that, but I'm scared to ask her. I know it's really stressful and scary for her, and I don't want her to blow up at me. It's also between her and Jaime, I know Euron isn't the father (despite what she told me). I need to focus on graduating, having fun with my friends and helping my dad, not Cersei's drama. I'll always be there for her, but this is definitely something she needs to work through with Jaime and her dad.

Jon Snow Stark POV

I got a text from Sansa today asking me to invite Podrick to the camping trip. I'm not sure why anyone in the popular group would want him specifically, but I did hear about what went down at the Lannister's new year's party, so maybe that has something to do with it.

I find Podrick talking to a couple girls as I'm leaving school. He's been getting a lot more attention since New Year's, but I'm honestly not even sure what the true story is because I've heard so many versions. "Hey, Pod," I say, walking up to him. "I want to talk to you about something."

"Yeah, sure," he responds. "I'll see you girls around." They walk off after he says that.

"I know it's short notice, but do you want to go on a camping trip with me and some friends? We leave Sunday and come back Wednesday. You're probably busy, but Daenerys Targaryen wanted me to invite you."

"For real?" He looks shocked.

"Yeah, she asked Sansa if I'd ask you."

"Definitely," he says without missing a beat. "I'll be there."

"Okay, awesome," I say, surprised at his eagerness. "You can stay over at my house with Gendry if you want."

"That sounds great," he replies. He looks over and I see two other girls walking towards us. "I have to go, see you Saturday."

"Bye, man." As I'm walking to my car, I see Ygritte and we make eye contact. She's clearly not happy to see me, but something in me still is happy to see her despite everything. She breaks eye contact with me and continues walking. I hope one day we can go back to being friends, I miss just hanging out with her.

Chapter 52

Sansa Stark POV

We're getting ready to leave for camping, and Gendry & Podrick stayed over last night. I'm in my room packing while Arya is on her bed reading.

"I'm so jealous you get to go camping for spring break while I'm stuck here with the boys," she says. "I wish I could go."

"You wouldn't enjoy it," I respond. "They wouldn't be nice to you and we'd be doing stuff you shouldn't be around. Plus, I'm only allowed to go because Jon is going."

"Yeah, why did Daenerys invite him?"

"So that I could go. She knew mom and dad wouldn't let me go if Jon wasn't there to make sure I don't do anything crazy."

"As if you can't do anything with Jon there," Arya says under her breath.

"He'll beat my ass if I get drunk or do anything else," I reply. "You know how he is. 'Do as I say, not as I do'." That makes Arya chuckle. She gets up and walks out of our room, I'm assuming to go get a snack or something.

I'm nervous for camping because I don't know what Ramsay will try while we're there. That makes me glad Jon will be there, despite how protective he is.

Arya Stark POV

I walk into the kitchen to get a drink, and I see Gendry there packing up coolers with snacks and drinks for the drive. I'm starting to notice how cute he is, despite being much older than me. He looks really good in his tank top, I can tell he works out. I push those thoughts aside, I can't think about that too much.

"Hey," he says, acknowledging me. He's the only one of Jon's friends who's even somewhat friendly to me. "How's it going?"

"I'm good," I say. "Where are Jon and Podrick?"

"They took a last minute trip to Academy to get some stuff for the trip."

"And you didn't want to go with them?"

"Nah, I agreed to stay and help pack up snacks."

I just nod and walk over to the fridge. "Where's all the Gatorade?" I ask after opening it and not seeing any.

"Oh, sorry," he says, reaching into one of the coolers. "I must have packed them all, here you go." He hands me a blue one. That's my favorite flavor.

"Thanks," I say. I start to walk out of the kitchen, but I turn around before I can. "How's tech theatre?"

"Oh, it's going well. We had the show in January and we're getting ready for the big musical in May."

"Oh that sounds fun. Do you like doing tech?"

"I do. It's fun to work with my hands and forget about life for a while." That's so deep, I like the way he thinks.

Jon Snow Stark POV

Once we arrive to the campsite, Daenerys, Cerei, Jaime and Margaery are already there. We walk up and see them starting to set up their tents.

"Hey guys," Sansa says, greeting them as we walk up. "Is everyone here?"

"Hey," Margaery says, hugging her. "Ramsay and Theon are still on their way. I thought he would've texted you."

"He didn't," Sansa says, looking disappointed.

Gendry and I walk over to an empty section where we can set up our tent. There are supposed to be 3 tents that we'll split among us somehow. As we're starting to set up, Daenerys walks up to us.

"Do you need help?" She asks. I just nod. "So have you been camping before?"

"Yeah," I respond. "My family went a couple summers ago."

"Oh cool. I've been a couple times with the Lannisters."

I'm not sure why she's helping us, it seems like she doesn't really know what she's doing but it's a nice gesture.

Ramsay and Theon arrived eventually and we pretty much figured out the sleeping arrangements. One tent will have me, Podrick and Gendry; one will have Ramsay, Theon and Jaime; the other one will have the girls. I know Ramsay wanted to share a tent with Sansa, but I'd let that happen over my dead body. The thought of him even going near her makes me want to kill him.

We're setting up a campfire and grilling some hot dogs once the sun starts setting. We'll probably make some s'mores later. It's actually a little chilly out now that it's dark, Cersei and Jaime are sharing a blanked by the fire and so are Sansa and Ramsay. Cersei and Jaime have always been known to be weirdly close, it's kind of gross.

"When are we breaking out the drinks?" Ramsay asks.

"In a second," Theon replies. "Once we're done with the hot dogs." Podrick is helping Theon grill, Gendry has more experience with that. I know Jaime and Ramsay bought some drinks, and I brought some beer too. I don't think I can stop Sansa from drinking, but at least I'll be here if she does. When the hot dogs are finished up, Podrick hands some plates to Jaime after making his own. Jaime takes one and passes the rest to Cersei so the pattern can continue.

"So where's your brother?" Ramsay asks Jaime. "I figured you'd invite him."

"I did," Jaime responds. "He wanted to stay back and hang out with Shae."

"They're still together?" Daenerys asks.

"Yeah, they're getting serious," Jaime responds. "She's over all the time."

Theon and Podrick take a big plate of hot dogs, buns and condiments and set them aside.

"Okay, everyone come eat." Podrick says. "Beer is in the coolers."

Everyone gets up except Sansa and Cersei. I give Sansa a look, and she breaks eye contact with me quickly. She knows I'm trying to get her to eat. We make eye contact again and she slowly gets up. She comes back with half a hot dog, no bun or condiments. I guess it's something.

"What do you want Cersei?" Jaime asks.

"I'm good," Cersei says. "Just a beer." Daenerys looks at her and Jaime pauses before grabbing two out of the cooler. He comes back with two hot dogs anyway and gets back under the blanket with her. Jaime tries to get her to eat a hot dog, but it just makes her gag. He opens the beer and hands it to her. She takes a swig, but it doesn't seem like she likes it.

Daenerys comes back with her food and sits next to me. "So do you know what you want to do after you graduate?" She asks me.

"I'm really interested in archaeology, that's what Robb is studying," I respond. "What about you?"

"I got into the same college as Jaime and Cersei," she says. "But I'm deferring."

"Why?"

"My dad is moving back to town, so I'm going to help him get settled and focus on my volunteer and charity work." I didn't know she did volunteer work, I thought Daenerys Targaryen was much more shallow than that.

"Oh that's awesome," I say. "What kind of charity work do you do?"

"I mainly volunteer at homeless shelters and stuff like that. I like to help people and give back to the community that helped my dad so much." I think that's super awesome. She seems so much more complicated than I always pictured. I thought she was just a pretty face from a rich family, but she's actually doing something with her life. I admire that.

Chapter 53

TW: More mentions of sexual coercion in this chapter.

Sansa Stark POV

I was able to sleep okay on the first night. Ramsay was trying to get me alone, but there were so many people around and so much going on that I was able to get out of it. We're going hiking today, and we might go for a swim in the river later. If not today, then definitely tomorrow.

I'm putting my hiking shoes on while the other girls are getting ready. They're all laughing and making jokes, it makes me wonder how they can be so happy. I've felt a lot like I have no control over anything in my life besides what I eat and how much I excercise, so I'm going to hold onto that very tightly.

Ramsay, Theon, Jaime, Cersei, Margaery, Daenerys and I are hiking up a really beautiful trail. It's a lot steeper than I was expecting, but when we get to the top it's supposed to have a really nice view.

"I'm really glad we did this," Margaery says when we get to the top. "I feel like we could all use some time to get away."

"Definitely," Dany responds. "I'm really scared to graduate."

"Why?" Margaery asks.

"I feel like everyone is moving on and I'm stuck here," Dany says. "I have to wait a year for college, and I'll be behind everyone else."

"You're doing it for your dad, though," Cersei says. She's reaching the top with Jaime, they were lagging behind. Cersei looks like she's out of breath. "We'll be waiting for you when you get there." Dany just smiles at her.

"Are you guys ready to head back?" Margaery asks.

"You guys can," Ramsay says. "I want to rest for a bit." I start to get up, but he stops me.

"What?" I ask.

"You aren't just going to leave me are you?" He asks. I pause.

"Yeah, we should always at least stay with a buddy," Jaime says. "Just in case something happens."

"Okay," I respond, sitting down next to Ramsay. "I'll stay." The group walks off and it's just me and him.

"Hey," Ramsay says after a long pause of silence. "Look behind you." I look and there's a somewhat hidden and wooded area.

"What?" I ask.

"I have an idea."

"What is it?"

"What if we went into that wooded area, and did some stuff?" He's kissing my neck now.

"I am not having sex outside," I respond. "No way."

"Well we could do other things," he says. "It would be hot."

"No," I say. "That's too weird."

There's a pause. "Well, we could either have an adventurous story to tell," he says. "Or I could tell everyone how boring you are."

I think about that, they'd probably kick me out of the group if he told him that. And we're on a hiking trail where no one is around, it's not like I have a leg to stand on if I try to fight him.

"Okay," I say. Ramsay seems happy at that answer, and we go to the wooded area.

We didn't end up going swimming today, but I'm sure we will tomorrow. I can't believe I gave a blowjob on a hiking trail, I never thought I'd be that kind of girl. We're all hanging out and grilling some food for dinner when the guys start grilling Podrick about his supposed foursome on New Year's Eve.

"Did you really have a foursome?" Jaime asks him.

Podrick nods. "Yeah," he says. "They said it was really good."

"What did you do?" Ramsay asks. "Maybe it'll teach Sansa a thing or two." God, I'm so embarassed. Jon glares at Ramsay but doesn't say anything.

"That's between me and them," Podrick responds. "I don't kiss and tell." There's a series of yells from the guys because they want to know details. I'm not sure why they care so much. I mean, yeah it's a crazy story, but it's been long enough and it's kind of gross to me that he did that in the first place.

"Jaime, Theon," Ramsay says. "Will you come with me to get water? I want to tell you a story." They just nod and Ramsay winks at me before walking off with them. God, I feel so gross. They eventually come back and I can tell Jaime and Theon know what I did earlier. I hate this.

Jon Snow Stark POV

Daenerys and I sit next to each other by the campfire on the second night too, I'm starting to really enjoy talking to her. She has so many interests, and we actually have a lot in common. She eventually gets up to go asks Margaery something, and once I'm alone, Theon walks over and sits down next to me.

"Hey, Jon," he says. "How's it going?" I'm a little confused, why is he talking to me?

"Oh, I'm okay," I respond. I know I sound standoffish, but he's the one who ditched me when we were best friends. "You?"

"I'm good. So you're getting along with Dany, huh?"

"Why do you care?" I ask.

"Just trying to make conversation," he responds. "Sorry."

"I just don't know what you want from me. You abandoned our friendship the moment we got to highschool because Ramsay said he would make you popular," I say. "We grew up together, Theon. You spent more time at my house than your own. I guess you want to talk to me again, now that I'm approved by the group."

There's a pause. I didn't expect to go off on him like that, but a lot of feelings have been bottled up for a while. "I've always felt bad about that," Theon eventually says. "For what it's worth, Ramsay is an asshole. Sometimes I hate him, but it's easier to stay than to try fight him."

"Yeah well, who could have seen that coming?" I say. I know that was rude, but he can't just try to be friends with me again like nothing happened. Theon just gets up and walks away. Right after he leaves, Daenerys comes back and sits next to me.

"What was that about?" She asks.

"I used to be really close with Theon in middle school," I respond. "We were basically attached at the hip."

"Really?"

"Yeah, then Ramsay offered him a chance at popularity and he took it."

"Oh," she responds. "I'm sorry. You know, Ramsay's all talk. He wants you to think he's an asshole, but he really isn't as bad as he seems."

I don't believe that, but I do believe Daenerys wants to see the good in people. "So do you know what you want to study when you do go to school?" I ask. It seems like a boring question, but I want to keep talking to her.

"I think I'll study business or economics," she replies. "I want to work for a nonprofit or a charity once I graduate from college."

"That sounds awesome. I really admire that you want to do something to benefit the community."

"Thanks. It's important to me to give back, for sure." She smiles at me. We keep talking until everyone decides to go to bed. I think I'm really starting to like her.

Sansa Stark POV

Ramsay and I are snuggling by the fire. Jon was eyeing us last night, but tonight he's too busy talking to Daenerys and she's too busy swooning over him. I don't know what parallel universe I'm living in if my brother dates Daenerys Targaryen.

"Do you want to go back to my tent?" Ramsay whispers in my ear. "No one's in there, they're all out here." He starts kissing my cheek, I can tell he's a little tipsy. I don't want to, so I ignore him at first.

"Sansa?" He asks.

I just shrug. "Okay," I say. "If you want to." We get up and walk towards his tent. In that moment, I'm hoping Jon will notice what's going on and do something to stop it.

Ramsay doesn't waste any time when we get to the tent. My idea of romance or even good sex doesn't include doing it in a sleeping bag while it's humid with my brother 40 feet away, but it is what it is I guess. I'm trying to tune out and wait for him to be done when Theon walks in.

"Reek!" Ramsay yells at him before changing his expression. "Actually, you can watch. I don't care." God, I want to throw up all over him. Thank God Theon doesn't take him up on that, he just rushes out of the tent.

After Ramsay finishes, we don't cuddle or anything. You'd think he'd at least give me that. We walk back out to the campfire and sit down where everyone is. I make eye contact with Jon, he's still talking to Daenerys. I think he has suspicions, my hair is really messy and I think there's a stick in it. He doesn't say anything, though. Thank God, I don't need him to humiliate me in front of everyone.

Chapter 54

Jon Snow Stark POV

It's our last day camping, and generally speaking I've had a good time. I'm sensing something is up with Sansa and Ramsay, but I'm afraid to ask her because she'll just get defensive. Gendry, Podrick and I are going swimming today. I think the others might join us, but I'm not sure.

"So does this mean we're popular now?" Podrick asks as we're walking to the river.

"You definitely are," I respond. "I don't know about us."

"I couldn't care less," Gendry says. "The popular group is a lot nicer than I expected, but I don't care about the status."

We get into the river and start adjusting to the coldness of the water. "Well, I care," Pod says. "I could use a little popularity for my last two years of high school."

"So what are your thoughts on Daenerys?" Gendry suddenly asks me.

"What?" I respond.

"You guys have been cozying up by the fire in the evenings. Is there something there?"

"No," I respond. "She's great, but she'd never date someone like me. I'm not popular and I'm just Sansa's protective older brother."

"Are you sure?" Podrick asks. "She's spending all this time with you for a reason."

"She's just friendly," I respond. "It's not like that." They don't seem convinced, but I truly don't think Daenerys has feelings for me. I like her, she's super sweet, but I think friendship is all we'll ever have. I don't think we'd work well together.

Sansa Stark POV

We're all relaxing by the fire on the last night, and everyone is drinking a lot. I think they all want to go crazy before we have to leave in the morning, but I'm barely even drinking any of my beer. We went swimming a little today, but honestly I'm just looking forward to going home. Once I get home, I'm going to figure out how to get out of this relationship with Ramsay. I don't know how I'm going to do that while still keeping my friends, but I will somehow.

"I swear if he keeps doing this, I'm just going to snap and kill him," Cersei says. I think she's talking about Tyrion, but I'm not really listening because she's always ranting about him. "He thinks he's so hilarious."

"He is," Theon responds. "Dude Tyrion cracks me up." Theon starts telling stories about his interactions with Tyrion. I'm kind of tuning out, but Jaime joins in telling stories of their childhood, much to Cersei's frustration.

"Do you want to go to my tent?" Ramsay whispers in my ear again. I really don't want to.

"Not right now," I respond. "I'm having fun with everyone."

Ramsey just huffs in frustration. "You know you're lucky I'm even going out with you," he says. "If you keep saying no, it's going to be worse because eventually I just won't listen."

A tear rolls down my face, so I quickly wipe it away. He's right, eventually he won't take no for an answer. "Okay," I say. "Then let's just get it over with." We get up and walk towards his tent. I'm going to do everything I can to get out of this when we get home, at this point I don't care if I lose all my friends. He makes me feel awful. How did this happen? It started off so good, I don't understand.

Jon Snow Stark POV

I see Ramsay whisper something in Sansa's ear, and she gets up and walks away with him. I'm trying to give her the space and freedom that I know she wants, but I do have the urge to protect her. Obviously the idea of her doing anything sexual grosses me out, but the fact that it's him makes it worse.

"Hey," Daenerys says, walking towards me. "Can I sit down?"

"Just give me one second," I respond. "I just need to go to my tent and grab something."

Daenerys nods, and I get up and stark walking towards my tent to grab my water. As I'm nearing my tent, I hear some rustling going on in Ramsay's tent. Normally I would just walk away from it all so I don't have to hear it, but I can hear Sansa crying. Without even thinking, I run towards the tent and unzip it from the outside. Luckily they are mostly clothed, but Ramsay is having sex with Sansa and she's clearly not enjoying it. In a moment of rage I run over and pull him off her. Sansa puts her underwear on and runs out of the tent. I just start going insane, punching Ramsay over and over and yelling vulgarities at him. I'm not even sure what I'm saying.

Jaime hears the ruckus and peeks inside the tent. "What the fuck?" I hear him yell.

"Dude, stop!" Gendry climbs in and pulls us apart. "What the hell?"

"He was fucking my sister!" I yell, probably a little too loud. "I heard her crying!" Ramsay climbs out of the tent with a bloody nose, and I follow him. Sansa is sitting with Margaery's arm around her. She's still crying, but she's calming down a little.

"Your brother's insane!" Ramsay yells at Sansa. "You and I are done! Come on Reek, let's go!" Luckily Theon hasn't been drinking much. Ramsay goes in his tent, grabs a bag with his and Theon's stuff, and they get in the car and drive off. It all happened so fast, I'm still in shock.

I walk over and sit next to Sansa. "Are you okay?" I ask. "I'm sorry, I don't blame you if you're mad at me, but I couldn't let that happen."

She looks up at me. "Thank you, Jon," she says. "I didn't know how to tell him no."

I give her a hug and walk off, I need a breather.

Daenerys Targaryen POV

I can't believe Jon just punched Ramsay like that. I agree he deserved it, I had no idea he was treating Sansa like that. Margaery is comforting Sansa, and Jon walked off to take a breather. I think he went to the lake by where we swam, it's really pretty out there. I walk towards the lake and sure enough, Jon is sitting on a log looking out at the water.

"Are you okay?" I ask, sitting next to him.

"I just can't believe Sansa didn't tell me what was going on," he responds. "I would have beat him up on the spot. I figured he was pressuring her, but I didn't think it had gotten that far. If you want me to leave, I get it. It got out of hand."

"We don't want you to leave," I say. "I didn't know it was this bad either, and you did right thing. We won't be hanging out with him anymore, not if I can help it."

There's a long pause as we just enjoy the view of the water and the nice breeze.

"I can leave if you want to be alone," I say. "I understand if you do."

"I really don't," Jon responds. "I like when you're here. I like talking to you, and I could use the company so I'm not just alone with my thoughts of what happened tonight."

"Okay," I respond. "I'll stay then."

There's another long pause of silence. "Daenerys?" He asks me.

"Yeah?"

"Why did you invite me here? I mean, why do you like being around me? I've always been an introverted outcast, and I'm nothing like your friends."

"I like your vibe. It's nice to get a break from the shallowness of everyone else. People always think I'm shallow, but I don't want to be. Also, it's kind of embarassing, but I had a crush on you in 8th grade and a little in 10th grade after I broke up with Khal Drogo."

"Really?" He asks. He sounds shocked. "Why?"

"I don't know," I respond, shrugging. "I guess I just thought you were cute and you seemed cool to be around, from what I heard."

"You thought? As in past tense?" He asks me.

"Well, I mean…" I'm beating around the bush. I don't want to admit that I still think he's cute in case that makes it awkward. I look up at him and realize our faces are really close. Before I know what's happening, I lean in and kiss him. I quickly pull away.

"Sorry," I say. "I shouldn't have done that."

He doesn't say anything, he just kisses me again. We sit there kissing for a long time, I could have kissed him until the sun came up.

Chapter 55

Jon Snow Stark POV

I'm driving home with Sansa, and we're riding in silence. I haven't told her I made out with Daenerys. I really just want to make sure she's okay.

"Jon?" She asks.

"Yes?" I respond.

"You aren't going to tell mom and dad what happened, are you?"

I take a deep breath. "No, I'm not," I respond. "But only because you aren't seeing him anymore. If you wanted to stay with him, then I would." There's a pause.

"Why didn't you tell me what was going on, Sansa?" I ask. She just starts tearing up. "You know I would've helped you, no questions asked."

"We've been fighting a lot," she responds. "I didn't think you would help if you were mad at me. And because you and everyone else tried to warn me and I didn't listen, I felt like I signed for this."

"Absolutely not. Sansa, no matter what I'll help you, even if I'm pissed at you. Which I am more often than not."

Sansa just chuckles. There's another long pause.

"But there is something I need to tell you," I say. "I wanted to wait until I knew you were okay."

"What is it?"

"After the fight with Ramsay, I went down to the river to take a breather. Daenerys eventually came down and sat with me, and we ended up making out."

"What?" Sansa borderline yells. "For real? Are you guys dating?"

"I think so," I respond. "I gave her a kiss goodbye today, and I said I'd call her tonight."

"Jon!" She sounds so excited. "Do you know what this will do for your popularity? You and all your friends are in now that you have the Daenerys Targaryen stamp of approval!"

"You know I don't care about that, Sansa. I just really like her. I think it's really cool that she does so much volunteer work, and she's deferring her college acceptance so I don't have to worry about her leaving. We just get alone well together."

What I said about not caring about popularity is true, but her being as popular as she is does make me nervous. Will people see me differently? Will this ruin any chance I had of Ygritte and I going back to being friends? I'm not sure, but maybe it's worth it to find out.

That evening after dinner, I go up to my room and call Daenerys. "Hello?" She says after one ring.

"Hey, Daenerys," I respond. "Did you get home safe?"

"Yeah, but the drive was long. Cersei is staying over tonight."

"Oh, I don't want to bother you."

"It's fine," she responds. "I have a minute."

There's a pause, I don't know how to bring up the conversation. "So…" I say. "Did you want to talk about last night?"

"I mean sure but, what is there to talk about?"

"Well, do you want to go out sometime?"

There's a pause. Crap, was she not thinking that? "Yeah," she finally says. "I really would. But can I ask you something first?"

"Of course."

"Do you still have unfinished business with your ex? I don't want to step on that."

"I really don't," I reply. "We weren't good together. I hope one day I can be her friend again, but we weren't a good couple."

"Then yeah, I'd love to go out with you."

"Okay, I'll think of something for us to do. Good night, Dany."

"Good night."

Sansa Stark POV

I'm doing a reading for school on my bed when Arya comes in from a fencing lesson. I don't want to talk about what happened on the trip, but I know I'll have to tell her sooner or later.

"Hey," she says. I just give her a nod. "So what happened on the trip?" She sits on my bed.

"Arya, I'm doing homework right now," I say, probably too meanly. "I'll tell you at some point."

"Sansa! I've been thinking about it all week." I take a pause and walk over to the closet. She follows me and we sit in our usual spot.

"Okay," I whisper. "Well the first thing is I broke up with Ramsay. Well technically, he broke up with me."

"Why?" She asks.

"All he wanted was sex, and Jon walked into his tent and saw us doing it and pushed him off me. Ramsay left after that."

"Wow, what? Are you mad at Jon."

"No, I was planning to find a way out," I say. "But enough about that, something even crazier happened."

"What?" Arya asks.

"Jon made out with Daenerys Targaryen, I think they're going out."

Arya gasps. "No way!" She yells. I shush her and she covers her mouth. "Of all the things I expected you to say, that was not on the list. Do you think it'll help your status?"

"Definitely, especially since Ramsay and I broke up. And it'll definitely help his and his friends' status."

"That's insane!" There's a pause. There's something I've been wanting to ask her for a while.

"Why do you ask me about all this?" I ask her. "It's not like you care about popularity."

"I want to know what to expect when I get there," she replies. "I know being popular is what you need to survive high school, and I want to know what I might be getting into if I'm not popular."

"Arya, you know I'd never let anyone bother you." Arya just smiles and hugs me. I really mean what I said. I haven't been an amazing sister lately, but I'd never let anyone make fun of her. She doesn't deserve that.

Jon Snow Stark POV

After getting off the phone with Dany, I walk downstairs and see dad sitting on the porch. I want to tell him I'm dating Daenerys. I know my mom won't care, but my dad will want to know and I don't want to keep it from him.

I walk outside on the porch. "Hi dad," I say. "Can I sit with you?"

"Sure," he responds, looking surprised. "What's up? I'm glad you guys were responsible while camping, I wouldn't have hesitated to ground you for life." I chuckle, even though I know he's serious.

"I actually wanted to talk to you about something that happened while we were camping," I say. "Nothing bad, just something I think you'd want to know."

"What is it?"

"I got closer to one of the girls, and I think we're dating now."

"Who?"

"Daenerys Targaryen." There's a pause.

"What?" My dad asks. "Isn't her family a little out there?"

"Yeah, but her dad is getting his life back on track. She's deffering school for a year so she can help him move back into their house."

"Jon," he says. "I'm sure she's great, but you can't date her."

"What?" I'm really surprised he said that. "Why?"

"You just can't, because of her family's reputation."

"Dad, she's head cheerleader, she was Homecoming Queen, she's National Honor Society president. I literally couldn't have picked anyone better, her dad is getting better."

"What about Ygritte? She was so sweet."

"You haven't even met Daenerys. She's so great, you'd love her."

"Jon, I mean it." I have no idea why he's reacting like this. It doesn't make any sense.

"You know what? I like her," I say. "And you have no right to judge me for who I date." I get up and storm off to my room. My dad has never been judgemental like that, and I don't understand how he disapproves of someone who's literally perfect in everyone else's eyes.
