Wizard Lord:I can Extract Anything

Chapter 87: Chapter 87: Apprentice War (Part 5)

"Monster, he's a real monster," Eugene thought, panic surging within him as he faced the black giant.

Desperately, he used magic stones to replenish his magic and waved his staff. A fire crow struck Richard, erupting in flames.

Yet, as the flames dissipated, the black giant continued its unhurried approach, its wounds healing visibly.

Before this, the black giant had withstood at least a dozen of Eugene's spells, each with different elemental energies, all exceeding fifty power levels.

Yet, they barely left a mark, at most a bleeding hole.

"What kind of monster am I fighting?"

Across from him, Richard advanced with his greatsword, unhurried and calm.

At the battle's onset, Richard intended to end it swiftly. But after clashing with Eugene, he abandoned that notion.

Richard was unfamiliar with what Eugene's teacher, Aron, specialized in, but Eugene's spellcasting indicated Aron's deep understanding of magic application.

Eugene had cast over thirty spells and only now began using magic stones to recuperate his energy.

This indicated his spells consumed minimal magic.

However, Eugene's spells were potent, many nearing a hundred power levels. Coupled with his low magic consumption, Eugene was akin to a spell machine gun, a formidable force few wizards could withstand.

Unfortunately for Eugene, Richard was among the few who could.

Thanks to his Body Adaptation training, Richard possessed high resistance to elemental spells, supplemented by the regenerative capabilities from activating his bloodline and his mastery of flesh manipulation.

Richard could effortlessly withstand Eugene's offensive.

He seized this opportunity to showcase his power to the surrounding black wizard apprentices, ensuring they understood the extent of his strength.

This display aimed to prevent future internal conflicts.

For most apprentices, surviving this apprentice war was paramount, not the rewards. Only a minority would become wizards; most would graduate as senior apprentices to become skilled labor for the academy.

Intimidating these individuals would streamline Richard's future command.

Boom!

Another fireball struck Richard.

He remained unfazed, but a commotion arose among the surrounding apprentices.

"Boss, wizards from another academy are coming!"

"Hmm?"

Richard frowned, sensing it was time to conclude his display.

Eugene, hearing of rival apprentices approaching, felt a surge of anxiety.

He realized his opponent was about to get serious.

"It's over."

Richard smiled, his right arm swelling rapidly into a black pillar. Through flesh manipulation, he could concentrate his body's muscle mass into his right arm, achieving astonishing strength.

"It's over for you!"

Eugene roared, his red robe bursting apart, revealing his rune-covered torso.

This was his desperate measure, forced by Richard to such lengths.

Infusing magic into the runes, Eugene's body withered, but his eyes blazed with intensity.

A menacing fireball formed before him, surging to at least two hundred power levels.

Boom!

The fireball detonated, the unleashed fire elements creating a fiery wave, scorching the earth and turning grass and trees to ash, leaving the soil cracked and charred.

Eugene, withered and exhausted, kept his eyes fixed on Richard.

He couldn't believe Richard would withstand this!

Yet, after the flames subsided, the black giant still stood.

"Impossible," Eugene muttered in disbelief.

In the next instant, a black greatsword shattered his skull.

"Got a bit cocky," Richard muttered, shaking off the charred remains. From his back, his flesh split open, ejecting depleted magic stones.

This was one of the techniques Richard had developed with flesh manipulation.

By embedding magic stones within his body, he had a reserve of over a hundred, serving as backup energy storage.

If his magic ran out, he could quickly replenish it.

In that last moment, Richard had drained over twenty magic stones to withstand the devastating spell with his magic barrier.

Clap, clap, clap...

Applause echoed behind Richard. Turning, he saw a short-haired man in a black robe, wielding a longsword, observing him.

The short-haired man, with golden hair and glasses, appeared robust. Behind him stood a group of black wizard apprentices, bearing academy badges.

"Impressive technique, your mastery of flesh manipulation is extraordinary," the short-haired man praised.

Richard retrieved a wizard's robe from his pouch, donning it. "Void Academy? Or Annihilation Academy?"

Void Wizard Academy and Annihilation Wizard Academy were the other two academies representing the black wizard faction, each fielding around 1,100 participants in the exchange competition, similar to Black Tower Wizard Academy.

"Void Wizard Academy, Anderson," the short-haired man introduced himself with a wizard's salute.

"Black Tower Wizard Academy, Richard," Richard returned the gesture.

Meanwhile, a murmur from Anderson's apprentices reached him, prompting a whispered exchange.

"Oh, friends from Annihilation Academy have also arrived."

Anderson chuckled as his apprentices parted, making way for a skeletal wizard, eyes ablaze with soul fire, followed by a group of Annihilation Academy apprentices.

"Annihilation Academy, Aldo."

Richard raised an eyebrow; within moments, representatives from all three academies had arrived.

"With all three present, let's have a seat. The white wizards left us a comfortable camp."

Richard gestured toward the tents.

The three leaders entered, unaccompanied by attendants.

Unlike the white wizards, the black wizards operated under a dictatorship.

Inside, the chairs left by Orey and his team awaited. The three sat, exchanging glances.

"Your skirmish with the white wizards seems to have yielded quite a haul," Anderson remarked, breaking the silence.

Passing through Richard's initial resource point, Anderson had seen the field littered with white wizard corpses, a sight that left him uneasy.

Slaughtering so many, these Black Tower apprentices must be formidable.

"Not too bad, around four hundred," Richard replied nonchalantly.

Aldo and Anderson exchanged glances, shock evident in their eyes.

"Over four hundred apprentices... What were your casualties?" Aldo couldn't help but ask.

"Well..." Richard chuckled, "quite a few injured, about a dozen dead."
