Chapter 13: CH: 13 Fuss With Peggy

[Chapter: 13 Fuss With Peggy]

Peggy rose, stretching her arms and legs. As an experienced agent, she knew better than to act impulsively and strike William just yet.

"Get out," William muttered, and together they walked outside. Peggy glanced around, noting the peaceful surroundings. "So, this is where you've been hiding? A suburb, of course. No wonder no one has a clue where you are."

"The scenery is nice here," William said with a smirk. "It's the perfect place for some wild games. Care to join me?"

"Could you just drop dead?" Peggy shot William a fierce glare.

"I'm only saying what's on my mind. Why would I drop dead?"

"Where's the nearest toilet?" Peggy asked, clearly uncomfortable with the situation.

"Toilet? In a place like this? You'll have to relieve yourself the way a bird would—like our cave-dwelling ancestors, right on the spot. Don't worry, I swear I won't peek." William gave her head a playful pat.

"Can I actually trust you to keep your word?" Peggy raised an eyebrow.

"Of course I'm trustworthy, but it's you who doesn't believe me. It's troublesome, really. You could just do it the natural way, but alas." William pointed to a patch of grass ahead. "See that? That's your best option."

Peggy sighed, resigned to the fact that her choices were limited. "It's the only place I can use," she muttered. "I'm not running away, but you better not peek."

"Relax," William said with mock sincerity. "I'm not that shameless. Trust me."

"I'll hold you to that," Peggy said as she walked towards the grass.

As Peggy knelt in the tall grass, she felt a strange sensation—an uneasy awareness of William's presence nearby. "Hateful," she muttered under her breath, clenching her fist. The thought of him watching her made her blood boil, but there was nothing she could do. A brief, frustrated thought of plotting an escape flickered in her mind, but it vanished as quickly as it came. She wasn't strong enough to take on a madman like William, and there was no way to escape his grasp.

Meanwhile, William perched atop a tree, peering down at the grass below, his smirk growing wider. "Damn, the grass is too thick. I can't see anything. How frustrating." He clicked his tongue in annoyance. "Well, there will be other chances."

He chuckled to himself, thinking about his experience with women. "You can't give up just because a woman says no. Sometimes, you have to be tough, push a little harder. Otherwise, you'll regret it later for not being bold enough." His eyes gleamed with a chilling resolve, a subtle reminder of his dark intentions. "The girl I want… She'll be mine. And only mine."

His gaze then softened for a moment, and a satisfied smile spread across his face as he remembered a particularly captivating sight. "Golden... hahaha," he whispered to himself. She had Golden blond hair down there just like on her head.

Peggy, unaware of his thoughts, stood up and hastily adjusted her pants. She heard the faint sound of laughter and turned her gaze to see William still in the tree, his eyes glinting mischievously.

"You… Did you see that?" Peggy's voice was cold, her eyes narrowing.

"I was just enjoying the cool breeze in the tree," William replied innocently, his hand theatrically covering his eyes. "But, uh, I might've accidentally caught a glimpse. Just a little one. It's a sin, really. I'm probably going blind now." He exaggerated his discomfort with mock seriousness.

"Shameless," Peggy seethed through clenched teeth.

William nimbly jumped down from the tree and landed gracefully on the ground. "Thank you for the compliment," he said, grinning. "To me, all the insults you throw at me only sound like praise."

Peggy, left speechless by his audacity, could only stare at him in disbelief. Nothing seemed to affect him. He was like a demon in human form, impossible to reason with.

"I thought you'd run away by now," William remarked with a smirk.

"And what would running do?" Peggy scoffed, crossing her arms.

"It would be pointless, really," William acknowledged with a casual shrug.

"So then why bother?" Peggy shot back, her tone sharp.

"Fair point," William said, his voice dropping with a certain finality. "Now, you've got me speechless."

Peggy eyed him, her gaze unwavering. "I need you to answer one thing," she said, her voice tinged with seriousness.

"Go ahead," William said, still nonchalant.

"Why capture me? What do I mean to you? Why not just kill me? What's the point of keeping me alive?" She fired off her questions, each one dripping with frustration.

William let out a soft laugh. "So many questions, but they're all irrelevant. You're overthinking it. It's simple really. You're the heroine. You're full of energy, full of life. Who wouldn't want to capture someone like you? And besides, you're mine to spoil. Why would I kill you? I'm not stupid."

Peggy closed her eyes and shook her head. "I shouldn't have asked."

William grinned, his eyes glinting mischievously. "Actually, at first, I was going to break you, forcefully. But then, I thought it would be boring. No challenge. Where's the fun in that?"

"You—" Peggy seethed, her anger rising once more.

William raised his hands in mock innocence. "Hey, don't glare at me like that. That's what I initially thought, but I changed my mind. It wouldn't have been satisfying."

"Abominable," Peggy muttered under her breath. Her fist flew toward William's face, but just before it landed, she pulled it back at the last second, stopping mere millimeters from contact.

William's voice dropped into a dark, detached tone, his eyes gleaming with an unsettling calm. "What truly defines a villain?" he mused, his gaze drifting far into the distance. "Is a villain someone who simply slays the hero? Someone whose only purpose is destruction? No, the true villain is the one who acts without restraint. A villain isn't bound by any rules—only their own. A true villain could kill or save a life, dance with the devil, sip tea amidst chaos, or even wipe out both heroes and villains alike as if it all meant nothing." His words lingered in the air, each syllable colder than the last.

Peggy inhaled deeply, trying to process his words. "Is this what you believe?"

William smiled faintly, his gaze unwavering. "Yes. I do what I like, and I don't need a reason for it."

Peggy couldn't help but scoff. "You think I'm nervous? You've got nothing to make me afraid of."

William's expression hardened, a sharp edge to his voice. "Really? Then let me give you a reason to fear."

Before Peggy could react, William's hands were suddenly on her shoulders, pressing her to the ground with force. "Little girl, do you really think I wouldn't dare?" His voice was low, dangerous.

"Let go of me!" Peggy screamed, struggling in vain against his unyielding grip.

William's tone remained cool and dismissive. "It's useless."

"Dammit, you bastard!" Peggy's mind raced, torn between disbelief and dread. Was he really going to do what she feared? Could she stop him? Would she ever escape this nightmare?

In a sudden, shocking move, William's lips met Peggy's in a crushing kiss. The battle of tongues began, a silent war between them.
