Chapter 31: Passing time
Welcome everyone to the second volume of my story. I am very appreciative of all of you for the support and I am looking forward to continuing the story.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
[Congratulations! you have created a gate: Using this creation you can make other access points to your tower]
[Once a gate it placed a smaller territory will be created around the gate]
"Fucking finally!" I yelled out "I have been trying to make this for better part of a year"
Looking ahead I saw a large stone archway about thirty feet across the bottom and fifty feet tall. The archway itself glowed with purple runes.
"Congratulations my lord" I heard.
Turning around I saw one of my most powerful monsters. Helheim. A humanoid creature covered in bone armor and an oni mask with two horns coming from his forehead and curving slightly back. His mask had two eye slits with black sclera and ice blue iris giving him his name sake.
"Thank you, Helheim, I am glad to finally have this project done.
Over the past year many things have changed and improved. The guild building was redone to be large, requirements for guild rankings were set. The town itself had become even larger making it a center for commerce between the three nations despite the war currently going on. I had also perfected my demonic race, in total there were three hundred and sixty five, each one unique. I had also highly edited all of my dungeons making them even harder even placing skill books in them as hidden rewards.
Looking at the gate I quickly copied it, making a few more for future use. Then I transported myself into the bustling town. Casting an illusion; as I often did to avoid attention; I made my way through the streets till I came to the refurbished guild building. The style was the same as before but they had added more space to the left of the building as well as a third floor. Entering I pushed past the climbers till I got to the stairs then made my way up to the third floor guild master office.
Knocking on the door I heard Goshen's response "Come in"
Dropping my illusion I stepped inside to see Goshen surrounded by paperwork. He had buffed up a bit and grown a goatee over the past year.
"Hello Goshen" I said, pulling up his status.
Name: Goshen
Class: Battle mage
Level: 32
XP: 1,782/2,000

"I see you finally choose battle mage" I commented.
[Class: Battle mage: This class is the result of a magic user focusing on combat. Despite this class not having an elemental focus it can use a variety of spells for offense. This class gets to choose from five elemental abilities]
[Stats per level: +2 spirit, +1 will +1 free point]
Once climbers reached their mid twenties their progress started to really slow down. Currently there were only three people with an advanced class, of which Goshen was the only mage and only one was a higher level then Goshen.
"All those extra quests really helped," Goshen said.
"Well as the guild master you don't exactly have the time to go on expeditions and I can't have you falling behind"
Chuckling a bit he said "That is true, being this strong really helps. How is the fiftieth floor doing?"
"Unfortunately no one has made it up there solo it's mostly been large raid parties that lose a lot of people on the way up"
"Unfortunate but even though it's discouraged no one has listened to the guilds suggestion as of yet"
"The desire for power is strong"
"There is no denying that"
"Has another letter come?" I asked, referring to the letter from the palace almost a year ago.
"Yes" Goshen started "With the manor complete and furnished the Fire Lord has informed the guild that he will be arriving shortly"
"Shortly?"
"Apparently they sent the letter as they setting off and that was a few days ago so anyday now"
"I'm just hoping they don't come here expecting a grand welcome from anyone but their own citizens"
"Good luck with that from what I have heard his sense of importance is almost as great as his fire bending"
"A Very apt. Description, I would refrain from telling him that though"
Nodding his head Goshen said "I honestly don't mean to be rude but I do have to ask, why did you come here? You haven't exactly been hands on the past year"
"This" I said, handing him the blueprint for the gate. It was just a rough sketch I had made previously trying to decide what it should look like.
As he read it over his eyes kept becoming wider and wider, to the point that I thought he may actually damage them.
"Is this real?" he asked in wonder.
"Yes it is, and I am planning to put one in Omashu as well as Ba Sing Se if they ever return my letters" I said. Honestly I didn't want to deal with Ba Sing Se right now so sending letters was all I was gonna do.
"Access to the tower in other areas would be a huge change. It would require a whole new structure to the guild" Goshen said then started laughing to himself.
"What?" I asked when I noticed him laughing.
"This makes the Fire Lord's trip entirely worthless" He said laughing harder.
Realising the reality of what he said I couldn't help laughing as well and it took a bit for us to calm down.
"I'll have to offer him this after he arrives," I said.
"Not without a price?"
"Naturally. So how is all the trade doing?"
"Really good. Magic items that increase someone's stats are in high demand by nobles of every nation. They think if they give their kids enough items it will make their kids more magical" Goshen said the last part sarcastically.
"Hahaha, although it won't do much for them in that department if they enter the tower with those items they will have an edge"
"And the war?"
Signing on to the question Goshen answered "Climbers have made their way into the army as elite soldiers. Fortunately these people are mostly close to level ten barley getting their class, all the higher level climbers are focused on getting higher in the tower"
"That's good but you won't be able to discourage the climbers forever, they will want to fight for their nations eventually"
"I know"
I was about to speak more when Goshen's assistant burst through the door yelling "Sir we have a problem at the docks"
Standing from his seat Goshen asked "Calm down, What kind of problem"
Taking a deep breath he answered in haste "I don't know but there is a multitude of people gathering at the docks, I came as soon as I saw the gathered crowd".
Stepping from behind his desk Goshen commanded "Grab some climbers and make your way to the docks, I want to be prepared in case it's not something one person can handle"
"Yes sir" the assistant said, rushing back out the door.
"If you will excuse me Tower Master it seems I have some issues to address" Goshen said.
Placing my hand on his head I said "Allow me to help. I am quite interested what this commotion could be"
"Alright then let's get going"
Tightening my hand on his shoulder I transported both of us to the docks.
