Chapter 16: Chapter 16
After the festivities had ended and the last of the guests departed, the house grew quiet, but the energy in the air still felt electric. It had been a night filled with joy, gifts, and reunions, all of them making memories that would last a lifetime. Most of the Tamers had returned to their rooms, heading off to bed, knowing that tomorrow would be another day of responsibilities and training. But for Naruto, this was no ordinary night.
He could feel something in the air, something unusual—an energy that he couldn't ignore. The world outside was quiet, but his mind was restless, eager for the rare event he had been anticipating. While the others slept, Naruto slipped away from the warm embrace of the celebration and made his way to his room.
Inside, Morrigan awaited him, her figure illuminated by the soft moonlight that filtered in through the window. She was as captivating as ever—her sea-green hair flowing like a stream, her outfit as mesmerizing as her presence. Her black bustier clung to her body, adorned with delicate white feathers and a heart-shaped cut-out. The purple nylons with bat patterns drew attention to her graceful legs, while the black boots completed her alluring look. But it was her wings—bat-like and powerful—that drew the most attention. The wings were capable of changing shape, transforming into weapons or shields at will. She could even break them apart and summon a horde of bats to fight by her side.
Though she had the appearance of a seductress, Morrigan's personality was layered. She was a playful, confident woman who was open about her desires, yet she didn't cause harm to those who came close to her. Instead, she was caring, protective, and fiercely loyal to those she loved—especially the Uzumaki family. Her connection to Lilithmon, the Demon Lord of Lust, was clear in her playful nature, but Morrigan was much more than just a manifestation of her dark heritage.
Despite her carefree and sometimes unpredictable demeanor, Morrigan was one of the strongest figures within the Uzumaki family. Her partners, LadyDevimon and Doumon, were both powerful Ultimate-level Digimon. She had the potential to reach even greater heights, possibly even becoming Mervamon, one of the revered Olympus 12. But despite her immense strength, Morrigan had always taken a laid-back approach, not pushing herself as a Tamer. She could have been the strongest if she wished, but for now, she was content with her life, helping Naruto and his family in any way she could.
Her story, though, was a darker one. She had been found in the Dark Area—a place teeming with vile creatures, both human and Digimon. Morrigan had no memory of her past life before entering the Uzumaki family. The trauma she had endured there had left deep scars, ones that she carried quietly within her. But despite the darkness she had faced, she was always calm, collected, and carefree on the surface. It was a mystery to those around her how she could hold such a vibrant energy despite the haunting memories hidden away in her mind.
Naruto knew of her past, and he respected her strength and resilience. He could feel her presence even now—her warm energy radiating in the stillness of the night. He had learned over the years to read the subtle shifts in her emotions, and tonight, he could sense something different.
Morrigan, sensing his gaze, turned to him with a smirk on her lips. "What's on your mind, Naruto?" she asked playfully, her voice teasing yet warm. "You've been looking at me like you want to ask something."
Naruto chuckled lightly, settling himself on the bed, his eyes fixed on her. "Just thinking about how lucky I am to have you around, Morrigan. You're stronger than you think."
Morrigan rolled her eyes, but the soft smile tugging at the corner of her lips told another story. "I could do without your compliments, but I guess you're right. But tonight's not about me. You're the one who's going to face the storm. Don't worry, I'll be ready for whatever comes."
There was a playful tone to her words, but the underlying seriousness of the conversation wasn't lost on either of them. Naruto knew that Morrigan, despite her flippant nature, was always there when it mattered most.
She approached him, sitting beside him on the bed, her wings folding behind her as she leaned in closer. "So, what's this thing that's been keeping you up all night?" she asked, her voice a little softer now.
Naruto sighed deeply, his thoughts drifting to the strange occurrences surrounding him. "Something's coming, something big. I can feel it. This is more than just a celebration tonight. There's a change in the air, something I can't quite put into words, but I know it's going to affect everything."
Morrigan raised an eyebrow but didn't push further. "Well, you know I'm always here when you need me," she said. "Just don't get too caught up in your head. We'll face it together, like always."
Naruto smiled, feeling the weight on his shoulders ease slightly with her words. The world might be changing, but he knew that with his family, his friends, and Morrigan by his side, he would face whatever came his way. He wasn't alone in this.
"I'm glad you're here," Naruto murmured, his gaze softening as he looked at her.
Morrigan's playful smile returned. "I know you are," she said teasingly, before adding with a wink, "But remember, I don't just do this out of the kindness of my heart. There's always a price."
The moonlight filtered softly through the window, casting a pale glow on the room where Naruto and Morrigan stood. The air between them was charged with a peculiar intensity, one that had been building for days, though neither had openly acknowledged it until now. Morrigan, with her sea-green hair flowing around her shoulders and her striking bat-like wings curled gracefully at her back, stood before him with an almost predatory grace. But there was more to her than just that—a deeper, more complex hunger hidden behind her playful exterior.
"Is this why you called for me?" Naruto asked, his voice calm but heavy with the weight of the moment. He hadn't expected Morrigan to confront him like this, especially not after their lighthearted interactions earlier. He had always thought of her as family, someone whose mischievous tendencies he could overlook, but tonight it felt different. Her features were sharp with desire, an intensity that made even the confident Naruto pause for a moment.
"Sorry, master," Morrigan purred, her voice laced with both frustration and longing. "But you look so delicious. I have always found you charming, and your life force... it was already intense, so I had some expectations. Now seeing it up close..." She stepped closer, her eyes locking with his, a mixture of admiration and desperation in them. "Your life force has broken anything I could have imagined."
Naruto felt a pang of sympathy. He knew Morrigan well enough to understand that her words, though seductive, were driven by something deeper—a craving for power, but also for connection. He had seen her struggle with her nature before, the need for indulgence that came with her powers.
"I know you don't like what I do," she continued, her voice dropping to a soft, vulnerable tone. "But I have no choice. It is my very nature, and I can't go without it. People call me lazy, but my powers won't grow without indulging in extreme relationships. You know I like it, but it gets boring after a while... I want to experience real love, Naruto. Most people... they can't ever match my power."
Naruto's brow furrowed as he processed her words. He knew that Morrigan was a creature of intense desires, a being shaped by her unique abilities. But hearing her admit her yearning for more than just fleeting pleasures, for something genuine, stirred something in him. He couldn't imagine the weight of such a curse. Still, he remained composed.
"What about Thor, Sentry, or Hulk?" Naruto asked, his tone gentle but firm, trying to steer the conversation in a different direction.
Morrigan smirked, shaking her head slightly. "Not my types. One is a mental wreck, one is a berserker, and the other... well, he's a muscle brain. You, Naruto, you're my type. You have the looks, the mind... You've caught my interest in ways no one else ever has. Please, master, allow me to serve you. I've been waiting for this day for a long time."
Her words were not a plea for a lover, but a subtle request for his acceptance, an invitation to allow her to be close to him in a way that surpassed the normal boundaries of their relationship. She didn't ask for anything beyond that, believing that perhaps, in time, she could work her way into his heart—if only she could win his approval.
Naruto stood still for a long moment, his gaze never leaving Morrigan's. He could feel the weight of her desire pressing on him, but he also knew the gravity of what she was asking. He wasn't unaware of her beauty, her allure, nor of the intense chemistry that hung between them. It wasn't that he found her unattractive—quite the opposite, in fact. Morrigan was everything a man could desire. But Naruto wasn't the type to act on impulse, especially not when it came to something as complicated as this.
Morrigan could sense his hesitation, her eyes flickering with hope, and she watched him intently, waiting for a response.
Naruto sighed, his thoughts swirling. He couldn't deny that he felt a deep empathy for her, understanding her internal battle. But he also couldn't ignore his own feelings and boundaries. Morrigan was family, and no matter how much he cared for her, he knew they weren't compatible in the way she desired.
"Let me try something," Naruto said quietly, a glimmer of determination in his eyes.
He took her hand gently, his energy flowing into her in an attempt to connect on a deeper level, to give her something she craved without compromising his own principles. But as he sent his energy into her, he quickly realized that it wouldn't work. Morrigan's body, bound by the nature of her powers, couldn't accept such an exchange. It wasn't the kind of bond she needed.
"Master," Morrigan said softly, her voice filled with both disappointment and acceptance. "There is no other way. My body won't accept energy like that. It has to go through the exchange of bodily fluids." Her eyes were wide with anticipation, filled with hope that he might relent.
Naruto's heart ached at the sight of her vulnerability. He could feel the warmth in her gaze, the hunger for connection that mirrored his own in a way. He wasn't oblivious to how Morrigan felt. The woman was powerful, but her desires were simple—to be loved, to experience something real. He understood that. And yet, despite the pull he felt towards her, he couldn't bring himself to cross that line.
"You should try finding someone else to love," Naruto said, his voice steady but filled with regret. "I'm sorry, but we are not compatible. However, I will help you until then."
He took her chin gently in his hand, his touch soft but firm. Then, to his own surprise, he leaned in and kissed her—a long, lingering kiss that spoke volumes of the affection he held for her. It wasn't a kiss born out of passion, but one of comfort, of understanding. It was a kiss that conveyed both the warmth of their bond and the limits that still existed between them.
Morrigan, caught off guard by the intensity of the kiss, felt her breath leave her in a rush. When they finally broke apart, her heart raced, her body alight with energy she hadn't expected from something so simple. She was left breathless, her mind whirling. It was more than she had hoped for, yet it only seemed to deepen her longing for him.
"Master, thank you so much," she murmured, her voice shaky with emotion. "But, I don't want to change my target. I will definitely make you take me one day. I don't mind changing for it."
She hugged him tightly, her wings trembling slightly. She knew Naruto wasn't ready, but she also knew that she would keep fighting for a place in his heart. And one day, she believed, he would see her not just as family, but as something more.
As she disappeared into the night, Naruto stood there, watching her leave with a mix of emotions—pity, regret, and a strange sense of nostalgia. He couldn't help but wonder what had gone wrong with the women around him. Why couldn't they just back away when he said no?
"If I were younger," he thought with a wry smile, "maybe I would've enjoyed this kind of attention more."
But that was the past. Now, he had to focus on the future, on what lay ahead, knowing that the bonds he formed would shape everything to come.
