fate: Ragna's Journey

Chapter 10: The confrontation between Ragna and Gilgamesh

A thick, heavy veil of dust enveloped Ragna, surrounding him completely. Fine particles of soil hung suspended in the air, creating a hazy and murky atmosphere, as if the world beyond had been hidden from Ragna's sight. Ranga furrowed his brow deeply, his eyes flashing with anger. He stomped his foot on the ground with all his might, as if he intended to split the earth apart. A massive wave of force rippled through the ground, carrying away all the dust and debris like a tsunami. In an instant, the space around Ragna cleared, as if nothing had ever been there. Fresh, cool air replaced the dust.

Ragna paused for a moment and muttered to himself, "That was a good opportunity to eliminate Lancer. I guess I took the fight a bit too lightly this time. Next time, I'll take out Lancer without hesitation." He then slowly turned his head and fixed his gaze on a distant point. His eyes were cold and focused, as if he could see something invisible. His voice, calm yet filled with power, echoed through the air: "How long are you going to keep hiding, Archer?"

Suddenly, from the direction Ragna was staring at, a golden, radiant light burst forth. The light was so intense that it seemed as though the sun had risen at that very spot. Gradually, the figure of a handsome and dignified man emerged from the light. He carried such grandeur that it felt as though the world had fallen silent in reverence to his presence. His hair was golden, shimmering like strands of light in the air. His crimson eyes, like two fiery gemstones, stared intently at Ragna. A mysterious, mocking smile played on his lips, as if he were satisfied and confident about something. He resembled a god who had descended from another realm into this material world. Every movement he made was calm and deliberate, as if time itself slowed down around him.

"That was quite a show, mongrel," the man said in a deep, mocking voice. He was Gilgamesh, the King of Heroes. He continued, "I never thought someone like you would participate in the Holy Grail War. This war is truly interesting."

Ragna responded with annoyance, "I don't want a half-breed like you calling me a mongrel."

Gilgamesh's eyes narrowed for a moment, and he clenched his teeth. His voice trembled with anger: "How dare you, mongrel?!" His rage was like a volcano ready to erupt. Waves of golden, radiant light emerged from behind him, and slowly, various weapons began to materialize. Swords, spears, axes, and strange weapons—each capable of taking down an enemy on its own. Dozens of noble phantoms, like arrows of light, shot toward Ragna at supersonic speed. Each of them resembled ancient warriors, and their quality was ranked B. They approached Ragna with unbelievable speed, as if they intended to obliterate him in an instant.

But Ragna didn't take a single step back. With a swift and skillful motion, he removed his cloak and tied it around his waist. Then, with agility, he neutralized each of the noble phantoms one by one. To him, they were nothing more than annoying flies. Every phantom that came close to him was swiftly and precisely countered by Ragna. He moved like a skilled dancer among the arrows of light, as if this battle was nothing more than a game to him.

Gilgamesh stared at Ragna with a proud and disdainful look and said, "Struggle all you want, mongrel." More golden waves emerged from behind him, and this time, they shot toward Ragna with even greater speed. But suddenly, shining silver swords appeared around Ragna and clashed with Gilgamesh's golden weapons. The impact was so intense that it created a massive explosion, as if a missile had detonated in the sky. The deafening sound of the explosion echoed through the air, and the shockwaves shook the ground.

Gilgamesh smirked arrogantly and said, "Are you so foolish as to think that trash like that can compete with my treasures?"

Ragna replied confidently, "I'd like to test that." At that moment, hundreds of golden portals appeared behind Gilgamesh, and even more silver swords formed around Ragna. Ragna's swords clashed with Gilgamesh's weapons, and the area within a kilometer around them was obliterated. Massive explosions occurred one after another, and golden and silver lights could be seen from kilometers away. Those watching the battle from a distance quickly retreated, as the shockwaves from the clash were enough to kill even a master.

Ragna said provocatively, "Is this all your power, King of Heroes? If so, I'm really disappointed."

Gilgamesh became enraged like a wild beast. The golden waves behind him doubled, and they shot toward Ragna with blinding speed. Ragna frowned and increased the number of silver swords. The area was filled with broken weapons. Ragna's swords tracked and destroyed Gilgamesh's projectiles like AIM missiles. Their battle was so epic and grand that it seemed as if the ancient myths humans only read about in fantasy stories had come to life. Explosions engulfed the entire dock.

Ragna said with a mocking smile, "What's wrong, King of Heroes? I'm still alive." Gilgamesh's eyes were filled with rage and murderous intent, as if there were no limits to his violence.

Gilgamesh clenched his teeth, looking like a wild beast. It seemed Ragna had managed to infuriate him greatly. The other masters and servants watched the colossal battle in awe. It was as if two gods were fighting. The dock was sinking, and more of it disappeared underwater with each passing moment.

As expected of Gilgamesh, he was extraordinarily powerful. Ragna, while staring at Gilgamesh with a smile, thought to himself, "The only real threat to me in this war is Gilgamesh." This smile only angered Gilgamesh further. He stared at Ragna with such intensity that it seemed he wanted to tear him to pieces. Ragna had now become Gilgamesh's number one enemy.
